William caught Vera's limp body before she fell again.

"Will?" she asked with a sad look and trembling body.

Willliam nodded. "It's me. You're safe now."

Vera nodded slowly.

William noticed a small bottle lying not far from them. There was something suspicious about it. Without wasting any time, he immediately contacted Evan.

"Evan, pick me up at Maple Street, near the ice cream cafe. Something's not right here," he said in an urgent tone.

"Yes, Sir. I'll be right there," Evan replied.

Next, William, with great care, helped Vera who was still shaken by the incident. He gently guided her to her feet, supported her weak body, and invited her to find a nearby bench. The silence of the night was only accompanied by the sound of footsteps and the wind, which added to the discomfort.

After finding a safe place, William sat beside Vera who was still trembling. "Try to calm down, Ver," William whispered.
