While William was busy talking to Vera, Thomas chose to have a private conversation with Sarah elsewhere. The dim lighting and the sound of rustling leaves, as well as the occasional howl of a dog, made the atmosphere even more intimate.

"I thought when you asked me to come here, Vera had nothing to do with William," Thomas said, his voice heavy and filled with disappointment. He didn't expect to see William with Vera again, especially at a time like this.

Sarah snorted in annoyance, her face looking tense and uncomfortable. "I don't know how he got here either." she said, her voice filled with confusion. "No one told her about Vera's father's condition."

Thomas pondered, trying to find an answer to the question Sarah couldn't answer. "Maybe Vera told him herself." he suggested, his voice still calm and steady.

However, Sarah wasn't convinced by that. She looked at Thomas with a doubtful gaze. "Vera previously admitted that she wouldn't tell William because she was afraid Aunt Amanda
