I Can Fool You Too

"William, I need you," Merida said in a worried tone of voice. Her eyes were sparkling, it was obvious that there was something she was hiding behind that fearful tone.

"Need me, for what?" asked William, his brow furrowed in a suspicious frown. He looked at Merida, trying to read what was really going on. William felt that something was not right.

Merida glanced at William, her eyes sparkling slyly. "You can protect me, William," she said in an almost whispered voice, as if seducing. Her fingers slowly touched William's hand, a gentle gesture that seemed meaningless, but full of hidden messages.

"In what way?" William was getting confused. He felt Merida's cold fingers touch his hand, making his hair stand up. Something was not right, but he could not determine what it was.

"By letting me come back to you," Merida said as she looked down, as if embarrassed. However, William could see something else behind that expression. There was a sly gleam in her eyes, a plan she was unraveling.
