“Oh, my dear son…” Cozbi said as soon as she pushed the door open. Without hesitation, she rushed over to Alex, her hands reaching for his disheveled hair, smoothing it down as though it could erase the turmoil he had been through. “Look at you. Nathan really did you bad, eh?” she exclaimed loudly, her voice laced with exaggerated concern.

Alex squeezed his eyes shut, pretending to be still asleep. He wasn’t ready to face his mother, not now, not with everything going on. Loulou’s presence, though comforting to some, always made him feel like he was under a microscope, judged for his every weakness.

“Welcome to London, Loulou,” Vanessa said with a thin smile, trying to mask her discomfort with the woman’s presence. Vanessa had always admired Loulou’s strength, but there was something about her intensity that could suffocate a room.

Still focused on her son, Loulou ignored Vanessa’s greeting and turned her full attention back to Alex, gently shaking him. “You! Are you even feeding

“Oh come on, Mom. You brought something edible all the way from Egypt? Africa? It’s gonna get spoilt!” Alex grumbled. “Oh, where are your manners? Is that how you say thank you? Does Vanessa not teach you anything? Huh?” Cozbi rang dissapointedly. She then signaled to her maid who rolled her super expensive storage back with an inbuilt microwave and refrigerator in it. “Oh wow. You really prepared for this journey Loulou. How long do you plan on staying?” Alex chuckled nervously. “Come on, abni… I only got here. Maybe a year or less.” She smiled and began to bring out the meals from the box. ‘Fuck!’ Alex sighed and looked at Vanessa who was looking outside the window angrily. She was not pleased with Cozbi’s presence either. Did she not recognize her as Alex’s wife-to-be? “Yes, that’s right. Baklava and your favorite lamb kofta," Cozbi finished with a proud smile, carefully laying out the food on the table as if it were a grand feast. "You always loved these when you were lit

Cozbi leaned back, her gaze intense. “That’s my boy. Don’t you ever forget why you are doing this! Revenge for us. Your dad sent you away to Africa when you were still in my womb. He made sure we saw hell and he almost tried to kill us, Alex. If he was alive, oh madha kunt sa'afeal lahi… even the devil would have been scared of me. But we have his son. “Look son, we will break every bone in his body. We will kill that little fucking girl he cares to much about. The idea is to make sure every trace of your father’s generation or family is gone, completely out of existence. And when that happens, we would be the only Reeds left in the world.” She paused briefly, “God, how I hate calling that name! Curse you, Daniel. I hope the devil fucks your ass with a hot rod in hell. If he doesn’t, I will come to hell with the head of Nathan and Kamsi and I will insert a hot rod inside your fucking ass.” Alex was short of words. Vanessa was also shocked. Cozbi’s mouth was more rotten than the

Vanessa, who had been silent throughout the exchange, finally spoke, her voice cautious. “He’s right, mom. Mr. Frost is... something else. I’ve seen him in action. He’s the kind of man who moves in shadows, and when he strikes, it’s always devastating. And always unexpected.” Cozbi’s eyes flashed dangerously. "So, you're both scared of this man? What did I raise, cowards? Okay, I understand if Vanessa cannot do this. I didn’t really raise her. But you, Alex?" Alex clenched his fists, but this time there was no anger in his voice—only steel resolve. "We are not cowards. We are survivors. And I plan to survive this, but going after Mr. Frost now will only guarantee one thing—our destruction." Cozbi scoffed. “You underestimate me, Alex. I’ll deal with Mr. Frost, and I’ll deal with Nathan. I’m not afraid to take them both on. I will become the biggest and most powerful woman in all of London and maybe in the world. That has always been the dream.” Alex's expression grew darker. “You

“Look, Samuel Langford, we have a good business relationship and I do not wish to ruin it. So, I ask you to give me some more time to sort some things out and I will pay your shares. You know my daughter just got married and I need to revive financially. The least you can do right now is support me.” Donald said coldly. Samuel was a truly good man, kind at heart, and forgiving. But he had limits, yielding points. And when he has reached his yielding point, he doesn’t take no for an answer. “You are right about one thing, Donald, business relationship. And of course, I did support your daughter’s wedding more than you know. So, to keep this good relationship flowing, I would advise you to make arrangements for your debts. I cannot wait indefinitely for you to sort your finances. I have my own responsibilities and obligations to meet.” Samuel’s voice was steady, his gaze unwavering as he assessed Donald’s reaction. Donald shifted uncomfortably, the weight of Samuel’s words pressing

As soon as he was inside, Donald rushed to him and grabbed his throat. “It was you, right? It was you who told Samuel, who told Nathan Reed. It was fucking you. Today is the day you die, son.” Charles struggled to breathe. “Tell them what, dad? What are you talking about?” he managed to say, trying his best not to appear scared. If he did, his father would smell the fear and he would be exposed. Donald gently released his grip on his son’s neck. He honestly did not mind killing his own son. He would do it over and over and over again. It was honestly not the first time he had his son killed. Charles was the only child he had left. He had married Sophia out to the Hearst family and he had sacrificed his own son one time to secure his wealth. But he had to be more careful with Charles. Charles was his only son and the only person who would take over his empire when he died. If he dies! “Are you saying you don’t know? You don’t know anything?” Donald asked, his nerves getting cal

His mind quickly drifted to his mom. Her last smile before the angels took her to heaven. She was so beautiful, so quiet, so calm. But she married her opposite and paid for it dearly. His mother taught him how to paint, how to find peace in art and to be a good kid, despite the kind of father he had. He grew up, spending years wanting to fit in with his peers. This made him form a clique with Dave and Anastasia back in college days. Only to have his heart broken, making him cry like a baby, a weak man. Why did he cry? He promised himself to be ruthless. But one thing was sure, he was not going to let his father cause any harm, mentally or physically on Kamsi. No matter how much he craved to be ruthless, he would not! “Father,” he began cautiously, searching for the right words, “you can’t—” Donald cut him off, his voice icy. “You think I’m just going to let Nathan walk away without consequences? He needs to understand that we’re not to be trifled with. This isn’t about right or

The news shocked the whole of London, especially among the elites who knew the weight of the man’s name and the power he held. The news reporter continued, her voice carrying an unusual tension: “Former CEO of the Reed Empire, Nathan Reed, has just released a video alongside an open letter, formally apologizing to the families of Mr. Donald and Mr. Hearst for, as he states, ‘the irreparable harm caused to them on the day of their wedding.’ In his statement, he takes full responsibility for his actions and expresses his regret for any disruptions that may have stained the couple’s day of celebration.” The television screen flashed to Nathan’s unhappy face, a look of weariness etched into his features. To those watching, it seemed almost surreal. The man who had once exuded dominance and charisma now appeared subdued, and contrite. It was a twist no one had anticipated. “But there’s more,” the reporter continued, her tone dropping to a whisper as though she could scarcely believe he

“Look, look at this, Kamsi. Your own brother is leaving you again. He is leaving London, just like he did to you 6 years ago.” Ann, the psychologist said, shoving the tablet to Kamsi’s face. Kamsi gradually took the phone and watched her brother. Teardops from her eyes wet the screen. This was her brother. Nathan, her brother that she hadn’t seen in years. He looked so… so different, so mature and… there was something cold in his eyes. She missed him so much. But at that point, she began to doubt if Nathan even loved her or missed her the way she did. He left her 6 years ago without saying goodbye. He returned and did not bother to look for her. And now, he was going to leave her again. “You see? Look, girl, I understand how you feel. My own father left me and my mom when I was still a child. He left me in the hands of my wicked uncle and…” Ann wiped the drop of tear from her eyes. “And I almost ended my own life. My uncle raped me, molested me and…” Ann paused, taking a sha

Look what it took you to get here! You lost Fred, lost your employees, lost your wife, lost your sister! You are a loser, Nathan, and it will always be that way! Go on, walk away like you always do, but what I said just now is the truth, okay?” Alex roared out in agony and pain, trying to break free. His words kept opening a wound in Nathan’s heart. A wound that he was trying to heal, a wound he would spend a trillion dollars to completely close up. But Alex did not give a damn! He needed to lash out his own anger and cries. “I would kill you over and over again, brother. Our father was an asshole just like you. He hated me, he could not bear the responsibility of a son from his janitor. And I am the product of that disgusting intimacy, Nathan.” Alex’s voice broke. He didn’t want it to, but it did. Alex Reed struggled to breathe as hard as he struggled to see. He looked around and could barely see a thing. He was in a dark room and whoever the fuck put him there was merciful enough to place a dim light above his head, just enough for him to see his own breath. He tried to move, but his body was numb, and yes, he was tied to a chair, so he could not move. He had been captured. He tried to recall the last incident that happened to him. He was in his car, driving to the airport for his departure, and then he was drinking… Yes. He was poisoned by a man who was not Mark, his driver. Someone had ambushed him, and now, he was tied up to a stupid chair when he was supposed to be on the seat of his private jet. Clearly, it was Megan. Alex had been humiliated to the core already. He had Vanessa slap him ruthlessly in public, diminishing his pride, lowering his esteem in front of the whole world. Then, he had Emma threaten him. This was not right. This was not the Alex he had envision

Marcus’s breath hitched. His heart pounded in his ears, drowning out the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. His fingers curled into fists, and for the first time in years, he felt something he had long buried—fear. His lips parted slightly, but no words came. April, oblivious to the storm brewing within Marcus, stared at Neil’s grave with a mixture of shock and grief. “Neil…” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I—I didn’t even know he was buried here. I mean, I heard he was killed. And whoever did it, death to the person.” Mr. Frost said nothing. He simply stood there, his hands in his coat pockets, his head slightly tilted, watching Marcus the way a lion watches its prey—patient, unhurried, and inevitable. “You seem shaken, Marcus,” Mr. Frost finally said, his voice smooth, almost amused. “Why?” Marcus forced a dry chuckle. “I just… I wasn’t expecting this,” he lied. “It’s just bringing back memories.” “Ah,” Mr. Frost nodded, taking a slow step toward Neil’s grave.

  • CHAPTER 427 (FINALE)

“You said you wanted to see me?” Asked Marcus, panting. He had been running. He dared not disappoint Mr. Frost or make him wait. Especially because Mr. Frost had been cold towards him for a while. Marcus was not sure why Mr Frost would tell him to meet him at the cemetery. He literally just returned from a journey, not a vacation trip, a work trip to Dubai and he had been there for over 1 month, alone and away from all social connections, online and offline. “Did you bring your girlfriend as I requested?” asked Mr. Frost. “Yes I did, sir.” Marcus responded and signalled for April to come over. This was yet another strange thing. Why did he request for April too? April walked up to them and greeted Mr. Frost respectfully. Mr. Frost looked into her eyes and smiled, the type of smile that came from past lives and would live on for millions of years. His smile was so endearing, thought April, the very first day she met him. There was an aura he exuded that was so… so familiar, so

Mr. Frost stood there, silently allowing the breeze to softly kiss his tender skin. Tender? No, more like rough and craggy. In this context, many people would say he had been through hell and back. But this was not the case for Mr. Frost. He lived in hell, ate in hell, cried in hell, burnt in hell, revived, burnt again, defeated demons, defeated the devil himself, and took over control. But he was close. He was this close to losing it, this close to becoming the very thing that destroyed him. His life had been a mystery, a story that could cover over 2,000 pages and 400 chapters. If only he had been writing a story of his life, or at least just documenting some specific events or even writing a journal, then it might probably be the best selling book in the New York Times or even in the entire world. Maybe he would title it, “The Man Who Survived Hell and Ruled It.” or “A Man Called Revenge!” He scoffed. He gulped down his bottle of wine as he reminisced back to early orphan

“I… I’m sorry, Loulou. But this is it! You remember when you I used to carry that firewood back in Egypt? And then, I would… I would, um, fall and trip over? Then you would say, ‘Abni, adhhab wastriha. ead ghadan wasawf takun 'aqwaa’?” “Then I would run back home and cry. Ha!” Alex sniffed in. “I think this is the time, Loulou. I am falling. I am tripping over, and I cannot stand by and watch all that we have built crumble. I have no one left, Loulou. Vanessa has left me, Megan she… she is a fucking snake and had been a betrayer.” “All the people I called friends are fucking leeches. Parasites. I will be returning back to Egypt, Mom, but not for long. I will be back. Stronger and better.” Cozbi just lay there, eyes shut, breathing slow and paced. Alex was not sure when she would wake up or if leaving her was the right decision. But he smelled danger. First of all, Vanessa had actually been around all those times, and then Megan, whom he thought was going to be his salvation, turned

“Sir! Someone is here to see you!” George, his right hand man said. Donald was raging. He had been grinding his teeth for days now. What was going on? Him, Donald Arthur, one of the most feared men in the city, lost a fight to his useless son and to a little girl. He felt like a laughingstock. He had built his empire with blood, sweat, and absolute ruthlessness. He had crushed men who dared to stand in his way. He had destroyed families without blinking. And now? He had lost to them? To a boy who once cowered before him and a girl he never even considered a threat? Unacceptable. His fingers curled into fists, his knuckles turning white as he forced himself to breathe. He had been grinding his teeth so much that his jaw ached. "Who is it?" Donald snapped, his voice sharp as a blade. George hesitated. "He… uh, he didn’t give a name, sir. But he said you'd want to see him." Donald exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples. "If this is another damn journalist or some lowlife trying

Alex’s body went numb for two reasons. Firstly, her stomach was bloated. Secondly, it was Vanessa. His eyes bulged out, and he looked to Megan, who gave him a sly smile. Finally, their eyes interlocked. Alex could breathe her anger. It was like he was standing next to a fire, a hot lava, and one push from an inauspicious wind could lead to an untimely death. “You!” he said to Megan before taking slow steps to his ex, who was not official. Finally, they were sharing the same oxygen and staring eyeball to eyeball. “V.. Vanessa. I… Look, I know that…” Slap! Alex held his face. He felt humiliated. But he had to try one more time. “Vanessa. Whatever you think is not true. I…” Slap! Slap again. Slap the fourth time. This got onlookers making videos of the lady slapping the man at the airport. Alex could do nothing. He was trapped. His security guards were not with him, and he was in an open space; he could not raise hand or voice against a pregnant woman. “5 months, Alex Reed. 5

2 Weeks Later ‘Beep’ ’Beep’ ‘Beep’ The machines hymned rhythmically, echoing into the four walls of the hospital room. Cozbi’s situation did not seem to be getting any better. It was, in fact, worsening. Alex thumped his head on the wall repeatedly. “I told her! I fucking told her! I fucking told her not to meet with Mr. Frost. Now she has a fucking heart attack.” Alex roared, curled his fist into a ball, and punched the wall. But it only left him with a pulverised hand. “She will be fine,” said Megan to comfort him. “Do not tell me she will be fine. It’s been two weeks now, and my mother had not even lifted a finger. I knew her coming to the UK was a big red flag. And you,” Alex continued, focusing his attention on Megan, “You knew she was going in to see Mr. Frost, that… that god… or whatever his fucking title is. Yet you not only approved of it, you even went in with her. All of that without my consent!” Alex roared. Then Megan stood up and walked to him. “Alex, do not
