“Hey Amanda! What are you doing here?” April said as Amanda walked up to the seat.

April wasn’t exactly happy seeing Amanda just burst out of nowhere. Where did she come from? How did she even know that April was here? Coincidence? April didn’t think so. This was no coincidence.

As Nathan saw Amanda, he quickly wore his face mask, making sure Amanda does not recognize him. Even if April doesn’t recognize his face, Amanda definitely will, somehow. She was his ex.

“I um, I came around to get dinner and here you are. How are you?” Amanda was all smiles and laughter, shining her teeth through the night.

Nathan sighed. He knew what trick Amanda had up her sleeve. Amanda’s presence was far from coincidental. It was in fact intentional and Nathan knew.

Amanda followed April just to see who this Mr. Humble Bunny guy was. Amanda knew that her friend was introverted and so, she saw a bait.

“Sir, meet my friend, Amanda. We attend the same college; Luxton University.” April said and

Nathan turned to April. “I had a wonderful time with you, milady! We have 6 more dates. When next I’m ready, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, a transfer of $15 Million has been wired to your account. You should start working on your fashion dream. Perhaps, you will design my next face mask! I have high taste” Nathan chuckled. April was first sceptical because there was no way an alert of $15 Million would strike her account. It was far from possib… April’s phone pinged. It was indeed an alert. ‘$15,000,000.00 has been credited to your account, reference number XX32. Your account balance is now $15,012,320.00. Thank you for banking with us.’ April almost fainted, but she stood her ground. Her hands were shaking. She had just received an alert in millions. Why was this person so kind and generous? How is this possible? April knew him from nowhere. As a matter of fact, he had his face covered the whole time during the date. Who truly was this guy? She began to cry and than

School the following day was as expected. Simply normal. But this changed when the news began to spread. April Freeman was now a millionaire. The whole college went up in flames. Everyone had so many questions to ask. Who was this Mr. Humble Bee? Just how rich was he? Why was he so obsessed with April? Why was he disguising himself? Attention began to quickly move from Amanda to April. Everyone suddenly wanted to be her friend. Everybody suddenly began to like her for ‘who she really was’. Nathan simply scoffed. Fakers! They would only love you when they knew they would get something in return from you. Their friendship was based on benefits. Bullshit! The news about April soon went round the whole college and beyond. Even the college principal had to question her for security reasons. They also offered to make her the school model for the year. This would mean that whenever a modelling company had a contract with them, April would be the model figure and she would

I need the exact same shoe to be created for myself. You know, the charity gala is not going to be a funny one!” Fred smiled from the other end of his phone. “Smart you are, young master. Smart you are! I wonder what they would say when they find out that you are the sole owner of Reylux Footwear company. How foolish of David. He wants to make an impression. He is buying from us! Well, let's just hope his father would believe whatever lie he tells him this time!” Fred scoffed. The conversation continued and Nathan asked that Fred make his cars available by evening. The Charity Gala was just 2 days from now and Nathan would need to get familiar with his new ride. School was soon over and Nathan got home early. He couldn’t wait for the upcoming gala where he would get to bring old memories. A

Everyone turned around to look at the beauty queen as she walked down the hallway. It was none other than April. April had dressed elegantly to school that day and quickly stole the attention of everyone who looked at her. The reason? No one knew. “Oh look who it is trying to defend Reed. Tell me, April, are you also sleeping with the milkman?” Dave said and everyone burst into laughter. “And if I am? Would you beat me up? At least I would be better than your simp girlfriend who interrupted my date last night because she is a gold digger!” April spat loudly. Everyone gasped. Dave quickly stood up and walked to April. “What the fuck do you mean?” he asked. “Oh, your pretty angel didn’t tell you? She came all the way to D Royals just to see Mr. Humble Bunny. Tell me, Dave, if you are truly her boyfriend, why would she go out seeking attention from another man?” April asked loud and clear for everyone to hear. Everyone was shocked. Did Amanda really do it? Dave was furious and

As Nathan bumped on his bed after a cold shower, he pulled out his phone and sent a message to Marcus and Neil in their little group chat. “Hey guys. What are your plans for tomorrow? It’s the Mega event.” Nathan asked. “Well, bro. I doubt if I’d make it. I’m having financial issues. My dad just lost his job and I won’t be able to make any donation even if I wanted to. Y’all enjoy the gala!” Marcus replied. Neil sent his reply as well. “I’m coming, but I don’t even know, I don’t want to be embarrassed. I mean, there would be students from over 3 different universities coming over for the event. Who am I in the midst of over 50,000 students? I mean, come on, I don’t even have a car!” Nathan sent a sad emoji. He was truly sorry for his friends. They had always been there for him and now, it was his turn to show up for them. He now had all the money in the world and ideally, his dragonflies should be the first set of people to enjoy his wealth. “I’m sorry guys. Look, we are al

Megan was all dressed and ready to go out. Her red dress and sleek black shoe contrasted the room she was in and the person she had in the glass cell. Megan noticed that Vanessa had been looking pale and had been throwing up for a while now. Deep down, she cared, Emma really cared. But it seemed she had been swallowed by intense rage and a twisted sense of revenge that she had turned Vanessa to an animal. To be honest, what Vanessa did to her, the way Vanessa treated Emma when the tables were flipped, it was more diabolic and inhuman. At least, Vanessa got to eat three times a day and sh

Vivian shrugged. "He left me no choice." Lightning split the sky. The revelation, though not entirely surprising, still hit Anita like a dagger to the heart. "You’re a monster," Anita whispered. Vivian chuckled, finally stepping back. "And you? You’re still my daughter. No matter how much you run, my blood runs in your veins. You can’t escape it." A heavy silence fell between them, only broken by Rachael’s continued sobs in the background. Enrique sighed impatiently, dragging Rachael up by the arm. "Enough of this drama. We have a flight to catch." But before he could move another step, Anita pulled something from her coat pocket and aimed it at him. A gun. The entire family went still. Vivian’s smirk widened. "Oh, Anita… What exactly do you think you’re going to do with that?" Anita’s hands trembled, but her grip on the gun was firm. "I think it’s time to end this nightmare." Vivian scoffed with a hint of approval etched into her soft smirk. “Impressive. You have learnt ho

But Rachael had no strength left to fight. Her body was limp, her sobs choking her as Enrique dragged her back toward the house, away from the man who had been her heart, her light in the suffocating darkness of her family.Just as they reached the door, a voice cut through the storm—a voice that sent a chill down all their spines. "Let her go." They all froze. Enrique’s grip loosened, and Rachael slumped to the ground, her tear-streaked face turning toward the source. Standing there, soaked to the bone and holding an umbrella that had been battered by the wind, was Anita. Her sister. The one who had walked away from the family’s toxicity years ago. The one who had vowed never to return.Anita’s gaze was cold, her voice steady despite the chaos around them. "I said, ‘Let her go now!’” Anita screamed. The family was stunned, Vivian looking at her sons in awe and then looking at her run-away daughter. How and why was she here? It no longer mattered. The family was now complete and

And then she saw them: Enrique, Donald, and her mother, Vivian, standing in the doorway. Enrique’s hand was extended, a gun smoking in his trembling grip. Her head throbbed, not just from the shock of the gunshot, but from a deeper, more primal fear. Her gaze locked on her brother, the smoking gun, the raw terror in his eyes, and a wave of nausea washed over her. What had he done? And suddenly, she looked outside and… yes. Her nightmare came true. The man her heart was bleeding for, just a few seconds ago was lying there under the rain. Yes, Gerald was… motionless. He was gone. Rachael’s breath caught in her throat as her mind raced to piece together what had just happened. The raindrops blurred her vision, but she didn’t need clarity to see the dark crimson pooling around Gerald's body, mixing with the water and disappearing into the cracks of the pavement. "No!" she screamed, her voice ripping through the storm as she stumbled forward. Her legs finally moved, propelling her ou

“Let me finish. I sacrificed everything for you and your family. Guess what, I met Nathan. And now I understand your family better. You killed Candace even after everything she did for you. She was more than a daughter. She was the spine of your family. And Nathan was her spine. And guess what your family did to her. I guess no one is ever enough for the Davenports.” Rachael had nothing to say in response. This was definitely the reason why her sister, Anita finally detached herself from the family, never to return ever again. “But Gerald I.. my family is not me. I am..” “...their blood. Driven by pride and greed, throwing away every walking stick that supported you when you stumbled," Gerald continued, his voice steady but full of pain. "Rachael, you may not have been the one to pull the trigger, but you stood by and watched. You chose them over me, over us, time and time again. You can't separate yourself from their actions now. You’re part of them." Rachael’s breath hitched, t

“Gerald?” she whispered, her voice thick with disbelief. But the line was silent. Only the sound of static mixed with the soft, persistent rainfall could be heard. “Gerald?” she repeated, a little louder this time, as though speaking louder might make him respond. The fear that it might all be some cruel hallucination gripped her chest. After a long pause, a voice finally cracked through the silence. It was familiar but strained, like a memory clinging to life.“I see you have moved on. Or maybe not. Why are you crying?” he asked, his voice breaking through her head and melting her heart. Her tears tripled. “Gerald I… I’m… Gerald I…I’m sorry,” Racheal choked out, her voice cracking as her emotions surged uncontrollably. She sank back into the chair, clutching the phone tighter as though holding it would somehow pull him back from the abyss. “I never wanted to hurt you... I never wanted any of this.” Her words were tangled in the rawness of the moment, each syllable carrying the

  • CHAPTER 390

The Davenport family had overstayed their welcome in London, and it was finally time to head back to Mexico. The past few years had been anything but smooth for them. From their deceptive entanglement with Collins to discovering the truth about his identity, to the loss of their daughter—who, ironically, they had killed themselves—the rollercoaster of events had left its mark. London had been no refuge; it only deepened the fractures within the family. Vivian sat in the salon, her nails being shaped and polished to perfection in preparation for the journey. The rhythmic hum of drills and the smell of acetone barely registered as she scrolled through her phone, her mind lost in other thoughts. Enrique, on the other hand, was in his room, alone. His phone was in one hand, the other resting near an empty bottle of lotion and a pile of used tissues. His indulgent habits were a well-kept family secret, and he wasn’t planning to break that routine anytime soon. Donald and his wife, Sar

  • CHAPTER 389

This was it for him! The last thing he would have loved to do was look Nathan in the eye and tell him how he messed up, to let Nathan hear how sorry he was, and to plead for forgiveness and perhaps expose all of Marcus’ diabolical deeds. Then, maybe, just maybe God might consider keeping a seat for him in the sky. Neil’s creaking voice faded into his head as he got up. He could swear that somewhere out there, Nathan was alive. He hoped that the wind would take his thoughts to his old friend, even though they would never get to see each other again. As soon as Neil got back to his cell, something caught him off guard. There were more men in his room than usual. There were only 5 inmates in the room with him, himself included. But this time, he saw what felt like 12 men, all armed with muscles, some with knives, daggers, and even batons. They all turned around, keeping mute and allowing the air to get tense. One of the men stepped forward. Neil looked at Damon’s knuckle. He looke

“You don’t know anything about me or what I’ve done,” Marcus said, his voice low and dangerous. “You think you can sit there and judge me? You, of all people? The man who betrayed Nathan, who tortured him, who made his life a living hell?” Neil smirked, unbothered by the accusations. “And yet, here you are, Marcus. Standing on the same side of the line as me. The difference is, I don’t pretend to be the hero. I don’t hide behind some flimsy excuse of love or loyalty. I own my sins.” “Shut up!,” Marcus growled, his voice barely above a whisper. But Neil wasn’t done. He turned his gaze to April, who stood frozen behind the glass wall, her expression a mixture of confusion and fear. “Does she even know the real you, Marcus? The man who handed Nathan’s sister over to Donald like a piece of meat? The man who orchestrated her escape, not to protect her, but to keep her tethered to you? Tell me, Marcus, what will she say when she finds out the truth?” This was the turning point for Marc
