The courtroom buzzed with whispers as Charles Donald made his way to the front. Some people in the court room recognized him as his father was a big business man in London. He was also a student in Elysium college, one of the biggest colleges in the city. So, he had a measure of influence.

Neil, though, was not happy seeing Charles march in to be the saviour of the day. Was he not the same guy who teamed up with Dave, Anastasia and even Marcus, his fucking friend to frame Nathan? They were the cause of all this and now, Charles just waltzes in here and tries to be the hero? Neil grunted angrily.

“No Neil, it’s not jealousy. You are not jealous. It’s logical reasoning!” He reassured himself.

Nathan's eyes widened in surprise and relief. Why was Charles here? He was ready to speak the truth? Did Dave and Anastasia consent to this or was he doing it out of his own good heart?

Nathan truly had a spot soft for him ever since they met. Charles was a bit different from his clique.

Saturday mornings were usually warm and sombre in Witanhurst Estate. As early as 4am, residents could be seen jogging outside their homes, warming up their bodies. Nathan had joined the joggers as he had to keep fit. Today was quite different. Different neighbourhoods came together to jug around the estate. They were going to engage in a marathon race jog. The idea was implemented a few days ago as it helped people get to know the next door neighbour and connect with people from different homes. Nathan found it interesting and so, he joined in. He wore a simple short and singlet and tucked his feet into a nice pair of jogging shoes. Because he had been so busy, he had no time to get some good shoes for casualties like jogging, so he had to wear the one he used when he was still in his low poly life. It was not the best quality, not something a person of wealth and status should wear, but it should work fine as he kept them neat and sharp. He grabbed his bottle of water, slap

Brymid was truly a really huge company. The exterior was breathtaking. Rumours had it that the building took 2 years to build on a budget of $22.9 Billion. Mr. Brad sat in his office signing some paperwork. Today was a busy day for him. He had many contracts signed with different allocations, organisations and companies all over the world. He was a truly busy man who had no time for his family. Mr. Brad was also expecting his girls to come to the hospital today. He had been trying to get them into some good positions in the company and this was hard becaue his girls did not meet any of the requirements of working as Nurses. Their college certificates were as poor as their manners. Suddnely, his phone rang. It was his boss, Mr. Fred. He quickly picked up the phone after clearing his throat. “Hello, Mr. Fred, it is good to see your call. I am pretty sure you must have some good news to share!” he chuckled. Fred simply smiled from his end. Brad always made him smile when they h

Brad nodded, a bit surprised by Nathan's hands-on approach but understanding the necessity. "Of course, Mr. Reed. I'll make sure everyone is directed to your office." As Brad left, Nathan took a moment to absorb the atmosphere. The room was filled with his father's presence, from the meticulously organized shelves to the large, framed photos of family and important business milestones. Nathan felt a surge of responsibility and determination. This was his legacy now, and he intended to honor it. He only truly wished he had known his father. He longed for a man to call a father. Papa Sam would have filled that role, but he was now in the heavens. Elon and Fred were the only men whom Nathan could confidently open up to. But again, they were both busy men and spent most of their time working. He began reviewing the documents, losing himself in the details of the company's operations and upcoming projects. Time passed quickly, and soon the intercom buzzed. "Mr. Reed, your first appoin

Brad's eldest daughters, Rose and Amber walked into the CEO’s office looking stunned. They both wore sexually provocative dresses that showed some private part of their bodies. This alone was a huge red flag to working in Brymid or any other professional company. They walked in causally, admiring the CEO’s office. They too wondered why the CEO asked to meet them directly. But they did not give it much thought. Perhaps their daddy had arranged for them to receive special care. Before Nathan could open his mouth to give them permission to sit, the two girls who were provocatively already chewing gum had grabbed the chairs and sat down. Nathan shook his head. This is what happens when a father gets too busy to instill moral values in his kids. They needed to be taught humility. “Were you asked to sit, ladies?” Nathan asked them coldly. Clearly, they still had not realized that this was the very guy they insulted earlier that morning. Quickly, they stood up and slightly appologi

It's been 2 days since Nathan made Amanda feel worthless. Well, he might not have done it intentionally, but he did it anyways. When she confronted Dave and his monstrous gang on the road unexpectedly, she had expected Nathan to have driven her to his home and she might have a chance to get to him and in extension, even lure him to sleep with her. She didn’t mind having a baby for one of the richest guys in the world. But Nathan sent a car to take her back home. He did not even show up himself. He was busy with that fucking April girl. Amanda began to hate April with every fiber of her existence. April was stealing away her man, the person she wanted. They were once friends, but not anymore. And they will never be friends again. Not because April might travel or they were soon graduating and so, they will never get to see each other again. No, that was far from it. The reason was simple. Amanda was going to kill April! “Hey, what are you doing? Ever since that car dropped yo

“Yes! Yes, sure.” Nathan was the first to speak. April nodded in agreement too. April felt a bit better knowing that Amanda was no longer interested in Nathan. She and her boyfriend were now on good terms. That was a relief for her. “Alright then, see you by 8.” Amanda smiled and walked away. Neil read the expression on her face. Being the psychologist he was, he could read Amanda’s face and while her lips said one thing, her eyes said another. “Well, that was weird. She is suddenly nice and inviting.” Marcus said. Nathan on the other hand just wanted to have a nice meal and a great time with his friends. He was a busy guy and having the time to sit with his peers was not always there. He was living a two faced life. “Well, it’s good they are finally back together, right,” he smiled and gulped down his drink. He might have discerned that Amanda was trying to be closer to April. But he really did not care. That was not his business now. Soon, lunch time was over. Ever

The party kept on going. The music was loud, so loud that no one cared about anything in the world but their own pleasure. Pleasure from drinking booze, pleasure from rocking girls and pleasure from having sex behind closed doors. Whenever Dave threw a party, everyone always returned home, feeling satisfied. When they returned to school the following day, it was all they talked about. April sat alone on a barstool scrolling through Instagram feed. She was not interested in having any conversation with anyone or in drinking. She just sat alone thinking about her life and laughing at funny reels. A hand tapped her. She turned around and it was Amanda. ‘Oh, crap!’ She murmured under her breath. Why was Amanda of all people here? Where did Nathan go? He would have saved the day. “Hi!” Amanda said gently. “Hi.” April replied. She couldn’t believe that her once close friend was now an enemy because of a guy. It was ridiculous. “Look, I know that you hate me and talking to me is

2 Weeks Later The room was dim and quiet. The only sound entering his ear was the beeping of the machines that lay almost next to his head. He looked up at the machine. It was an EKG monitor life machine. His vision was blurry. His head ached badly. As he tried to move his body, the pain increased. It was excruciating. But the pain was not the only thing holding him back from moving. There were pipes connected to his body, making it difficult for him to move freely. Wait, was he in a hospital? Was he confined to a hospital bed? He looked around and examined where he was. Indeed, he was confined to a hospital bed. There were white sheets covering him, an IV drip attached to his arm, and medical equipment surrounding the bed. He tried to piece together what had happened, but his mind was a foggy mess. Nothing was clear to him at this point. Just then, the door to his room opened, and a nurse walked in, checking his charts. Her eyes widened slightly when she noticed he was awak

Megan was all dressed and ready to go out. Her red dress and sleek black shoe contrasted the room she was in and the person she had in the glass cell. Megan noticed that Vanessa had been looking pale and had been throwing up for a while now. Deep down, she cared, Emma really cared. But it seemed she had been swallowed by intense rage and a twisted sense of revenge that she had turned Vanessa to an animal. To be honest, what Vanessa did to her, the way Vanessa treated Emma when the tables were flipped, it was more diabolic and inhuman. At least, Vanessa got to eat three times a day and sh

Vivian shrugged. "He left me no choice." Lightning split the sky. The revelation, though not entirely surprising, still hit Anita like a dagger to the heart. "You’re a monster," Anita whispered. Vivian chuckled, finally stepping back. "And you? You’re still my daughter. No matter how much you run, my blood runs in your veins. You can’t escape it." A heavy silence fell between them, only broken by Rachael’s continued sobs in the background. Enrique sighed impatiently, dragging Rachael up by the arm. "Enough of this drama. We have a flight to catch." But before he could move another step, Anita pulled something from her coat pocket and aimed it at him. A gun. The entire family went still. Vivian’s smirk widened. "Oh, Anita… What exactly do you think you’re going to do with that?" Anita’s hands trembled, but her grip on the gun was firm. "I think it’s time to end this nightmare." Vivian scoffed with a hint of approval etched into her soft smirk. “Impressive. You have learnt ho

But Rachael had no strength left to fight. Her body was limp, her sobs choking her as Enrique dragged her back toward the house, away from the man who had been her heart, her light in the suffocating darkness of her family.Just as they reached the door, a voice cut through the storm—a voice that sent a chill down all their spines. "Let her go." They all froze. Enrique’s grip loosened, and Rachael slumped to the ground, her tear-streaked face turning toward the source. Standing there, soaked to the bone and holding an umbrella that had been battered by the wind, was Anita. Her sister. The one who had walked away from the family’s toxicity years ago. The one who had vowed never to return.Anita’s gaze was cold, her voice steady despite the chaos around them. "I said, ‘Let her go now!’” Anita screamed. The family was stunned, Vivian looking at her sons in awe and then looking at her run-away daughter. How and why was she here? It no longer mattered. The family was now complete and

And then she saw them: Enrique, Donald, and her mother, Vivian, standing in the doorway. Enrique’s hand was extended, a gun smoking in his trembling grip. Her head throbbed, not just from the shock of the gunshot, but from a deeper, more primal fear. Her gaze locked on her brother, the smoking gun, the raw terror in his eyes, and a wave of nausea washed over her. What had he done? And suddenly, she looked outside and… yes. Her nightmare came true. The man her heart was bleeding for, just a few seconds ago was lying there under the rain. Yes, Gerald was… motionless. He was gone. Rachael’s breath caught in her throat as her mind raced to piece together what had just happened. The raindrops blurred her vision, but she didn’t need clarity to see the dark crimson pooling around Gerald's body, mixing with the water and disappearing into the cracks of the pavement. "No!" she screamed, her voice ripping through the storm as she stumbled forward. Her legs finally moved, propelling her ou

“Let me finish. I sacrificed everything for you and your family. Guess what, I met Nathan. And now I understand your family better. You killed Candace even after everything she did for you. She was more than a daughter. She was the spine of your family. And Nathan was her spine. And guess what your family did to her. I guess no one is ever enough for the Davenports.” Rachael had nothing to say in response. This was definitely the reason why her sister, Anita finally detached herself from the family, never to return ever again. “But Gerald I.. my family is not me. I am..” “...their blood. Driven by pride and greed, throwing away every walking stick that supported you when you stumbled," Gerald continued, his voice steady but full of pain. "Rachael, you may not have been the one to pull the trigger, but you stood by and watched. You chose them over me, over us, time and time again. You can't separate yourself from their actions now. You’re part of them." Rachael’s breath hitched, t

  • CHAPTER 391

“Gerald?” she whispered, her voice thick with disbelief. But the line was silent. Only the sound of static mixed with the soft, persistent rainfall could be heard. “Gerald?” she repeated, a little louder this time, as though speaking louder might make him respond. The fear that it might all be some cruel hallucination gripped her chest. After a long pause, a voice finally cracked through the silence. It was familiar but strained, like a memory clinging to life.“I see you have moved on. Or maybe not. Why are you crying?” he asked, his voice breaking through her head and melting her heart. Her tears tripled. “Gerald I… I’m… Gerald I…I’m sorry,” Racheal choked out, her voice cracking as her emotions surged uncontrollably. She sank back into the chair, clutching the phone tighter as though holding it would somehow pull him back from the abyss. “I never wanted to hurt you... I never wanted any of this.” Her words were tangled in the rawness of the moment, each syllable carrying the

  • CHAPTER 390

The Davenport family had overstayed their welcome in London, and it was finally time to head back to Mexico. The past few years had been anything but smooth for them. From their deceptive entanglement with Collins to discovering the truth about his identity, to the loss of their daughter—who, ironically, they had killed themselves—the rollercoaster of events had left its mark. London had been no refuge; it only deepened the fractures within the family. Vivian sat in the salon, her nails being shaped and polished to perfection in preparation for the journey. The rhythmic hum of drills and the smell of acetone barely registered as she scrolled through her phone, her mind lost in other thoughts. Enrique, on the other hand, was in his room, alone. His phone was in one hand, the other resting near an empty bottle of lotion and a pile of used tissues. His indulgent habits were a well-kept family secret, and he wasn’t planning to break that routine anytime soon. Donald and his wife, Sar

This was it for him! The last thing he would have loved to do was look Nathan in the eye and tell him how he messed up, to let Nathan hear how sorry he was, and to plead for forgiveness and perhaps expose all of Marcus’ diabolical deeds. Then, maybe, just maybe God might consider keeping a seat for him in the sky. Neil’s creaking voice faded into his head as he got up. He could swear that somewhere out there, Nathan was alive. He hoped that the wind would take his thoughts to his old friend, even though they would never get to see each other again. As soon as Neil got back to his cell, something caught him off guard. There were more men in his room than usual. There were only 5 inmates in the room with him, himself included. But this time, he saw what felt like 12 men, all armed with muscles, some with knives, daggers, and even batons. They all turned around, keeping mute and allowing the air to get tense. One of the men stepped forward. Neil looked at Damon’s knuckle. He looke

“You don’t know anything about me or what I’ve done,” Marcus said, his voice low and dangerous. “You think you can sit there and judge me? You, of all people? The man who betrayed Nathan, who tortured him, who made his life a living hell?” Neil smirked, unbothered by the accusations. “And yet, here you are, Marcus. Standing on the same side of the line as me. The difference is, I don’t pretend to be the hero. I don’t hide behind some flimsy excuse of love or loyalty. I own my sins.” “Shut up!,” Marcus growled, his voice barely above a whisper. But Neil wasn’t done. He turned his gaze to April, who stood frozen behind the glass wall, her expression a mixture of confusion and fear. “Does she even know the real you, Marcus? The man who handed Nathan’s sister over to Donald like a piece of meat? The man who orchestrated her escape, not to protect her, but to keep her tethered to you? Tell me, Marcus, what will she say when she finds out the truth?” This was the turning point for Marc
