Discharge

Liana's mother sat in the hospital waiting area, her hands clenched tightly in her lap as she waited for news of her daughter's condition. The doctor approached her with a sympathetic smile, his eyes filled with compassion.

"Mrs. Anchor, I understand this is a difficult time for you," he said gently, his voice a soothing balm amidst the storm of her emotions. "But I want you to know that we did everything we could for Liana. Her passing, while tragic, is not the end of the world."

His words offered little comfort to Liana's mother, whose grief threatened to consume her whole. Tears streamed down her cheeks unchecked, her heart aching with the pain of loss.

"How can you say that?" she choked out, her voice thick with emotion. "My daughter is gone... how can anything ever be okay again?"
