Chapter Fifty-Eight
Marcus was sitting quietly, avoiding the woman’s eyes by looking around the room.

The walls were adorned with artwork that matched the aesthetic of the house, and it was obvious that they were all very expensive.

His gaze fell upon a series of framed pictures arranged on a side table.

Among them were photos of Christina through the years.

Marcus could easily identify her because Christina started her acting career very young and acted in big films that made her win big awards.

Suddenly, the door opened, and presumably, the master of the house, a man in his 50s with a commanding presence, entered the room, his eyes narrowing as he examined Marcus.

"You are Marcus Thornwood?" the man questioned, his voice stern and demanding.

"Yes, sir. I'm Marcus Thornwood," Marcus replied respectfully.

The man nodded as he sat in front of Marcus, and the woman walked to sit beside his husband.

"Janet, get us something to eat and drink," the man commanded the old maid, which the old maid quickly acknow
