Chapter 5

Moore rolled on the luxurious bed with a blissful smile on his face, he stood up and rested his back against the pillow. He looked around the beautiful room.

"Moore, wake up from your dream right now. You have to wake up, get ready for today's insults, pleads and pay your debts." He screamed loudly.

Suddenly, his phone started ringing. He smiled and took it from the bedside stool.

"This is not a dream, it is real." He shouted and checked who the caller was. It was from the bank, he picked it immediately and placed it against his ear.

"Good morning." He greeted with a soft voice.

"Don't greet me Mr Moore. We loaned you some money a few weeks ago and you are yet to pay us back. You always cut the call whenever we call you. Today is the deadline for the payment, if you refuse to pay it then you will be arrested by the police." The woman yelled at him and ended the call right away without giving him a chance to say anything.

Moore ran his fingers through his hair.

"I loaned 1000 dollars from the bank a few weeks ago in order to get a nice gift for Fiona. She left me after everything I have done for her. It is time to pay the loan." He thought and stood up.

He quickly took his bath and went downstairs.

"There should be a car in the garage." Moore said to himself and went out.

He walked into the garage and his jaw dropped as he saw a lot of luxurious cars with different colors and models there.

"I am lucky, I don't know the one to choose, but I will choose the cheapest one. I don't want to go with the expensive one. Keeping a low profile will do me a lot of good." He concluded, the cheapest car is worth 100 thousand dollars.

He went back in to get the keys. He learnt how to drive a car a few years back where he applied for a truck driving job.

He got into the car, inserted the keys and ignited the engine and the car zoomed off.

Moore parked his car properly in the garage, he came down and went into the bank. He walked straight to the table because nobody was in the queue.

He brought out his car and stretched it to the impatient clerk. She collected it and started operating on it.

The clerk raised her head and sneered.

"This card is invalid." She informed and smirked at him. Moore was surprised at what she just said.

"How could it be invalid? Mr Gilbert sent the money to me and I received the alert immediately." He thought in confusion.

"He is pretending to be confused, this man needs to be arrested." She thought and stood up immediately.

"Security come and arrest this man right now." She ordered. Moore saw them coming.

"I have 100 million dollars in my card." He screamed, all eyes on him and laughed at him.

"I don't think he is alright." A customer said and shook her head.

"Does he even know what he is saying? I don't think so. How can a waiter have such an amount in his account? He must be joking." A banker underrated and they laughed.

"Look at his dressing, there is no doubt that he must be lying when he said that." A customer insulted. Moore decided to put on his previous outfit which was looking dull and faded.

"I don't know what is wrong with you Mr Moore, we loaned you some money a few weeks ago. We called you to refund it and you ignored our calls. You eventually picked it and came here with an empty card. Who are you here to deceive? Do you think we will let you go? No we won't. You will spend the rest of your life behind bars." The clerk insulted him in anger.

"I'm sure of what I am saying, 100 million dollars is truly in my account. I received the alert last night. You can check my phone for confirmation. Please believe me." He tried to justify himself, everybody hissed at his explanation.

"I don't think he should be allowed to say another word here again, his voice alone irritates me." A customer scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"This is the height of it, you are a scammer and useless person. Just admit you come here to make fun of yourself. You don't have a single penny in your card. Look, tell us the truth and you will be set free, but if you continue to claim to have 100 million dollars in your account then you will not be in jail. Are you ready to confess or you get forced to confess and rot in jail?." She stated and folded her arms.

The manager ( Mr Bright) of the bank came out after hearing noises coming from the reception.

"What's happening here?." He asked with a furrowed brow. The clerk walked towards him immediately.

"This is the man we loaned money to a few weeks ago. After disturbing him with calls he finally came here to pay with an empty card, I told him about the situation and he claimed to have a huge sum of money in there. Definitely, this man is a lier and a cheat. Even if he has such an amount there as claimed then he should be arrested for fraud." The clerk explained.

"Sir, I am not lying at all. I didn't pay up the loan before now because I don't have up to the amount, but I had more than that now. I was credited with 100 million dollars the previous night. You can check my phone for the alert, or your record for the transaction. Everything I said here is the truth." Moore explained his own part.

"I pray he believes me, after leaving here, I will go to Mr Gilbert. He must explain why my card was empty." He thought in anger.

Mr Bright sneered at him, suddenly, he remembered something and his face turned pale.
