Owen had come home. Of all the times for that to happen.

In all of his planning, he didn't stop to think, what if Owen had moved in with her— I mean, he only got thrown out a couple of weeks ago,

He had come to the house sooner than anticipated. The realization struck Alex like a sudden jolt, freezing him in the midst of his computer setup. He glanced at Olivia, who seemed equally surprised, her eyes widening as Owen's footsteps echoed through the house, she mouthed; " he wasn't supposed to be home till Friday," Not that any of that even mattered at the moment.

The air in the attic became charged with an unexpected tension. Alex's mind raced, considering the possible scenarios that could unfold with Owen's unexpected return.
