Chapter Sixty Five

Alex woke up early, the first rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains and casting a warm glow across the room. He lay still for a moment, listening to the soft sounds of the morning and reflecting on the whirlwind of recent events. The investor meeting loomed large in his mind, a mix of excitement and anxiety tightening in his chest. He turned to see Sarah still asleep, her face peaceful. The sight brought him a measure of calm, a reminder of why he was pushing so hard.

As he slipped out of bed, careful not to wake her, he made his way to the kitchen to start the day. Coffee was brewing, filling the house with its rich aroma, when Sarah appeared, rubbing her eyes and smiling sleepily at him.

“Morning, love,” Alex said, pouring her a cup and handing it over with a kiss on her forehead.

“Morning,” she replied, wrapping her hands around the mug. “Ready for the big day?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” he said, trying to sound more confident than he felt. “We’ve got one last prep session
