Chapter Twenty Nine

They were still talking at the cafe when Sarah got a call; Apparently she usually had her coffee breaks here at the time, the coffee at her office was simply gruesome, and flavourless as expected from a knock-off instant coffee brand.

As Sarah's phone rang, she glanced at the caller ID and sighed in frustration. "I'm so sorry, Alex," she said apologetically, gesturing at her phone. "It's work. I have to take this."

Alex nodded understandingly, a hint of disappointment flickering in his eyes. "No problem," he replied with a reassuring smile. "Go ahead, I'll wait here."

Sarah quickly answered the call and listened intently to the voice on the other end of the line. Her expression shifted from annoyance to concern as she spoke, her brow furrowing in concentration.
