As Reina concentrates, a sudden burst of energy surges through him, causing three symbols to materialize around his right eye in the form of glowing, triangle-shaped marks. With a flick of his wrist, Reina commands the symbols to rotate, tracing a perfect circle around his eye before vanishing in a flash of brilliant light.
As the symbols fade away, Reina's once-green eye transforms into a mesmerizing shade of pink, revealing the full extent of his power. "Perfect Vision", is the name of this unique skill. Reina becomes attuned to the subtleties of people's auras - the type of magical energy they possess, and even their power level. With this newfound ability, he can locate individuals he had encountered before, effortlessly sensing their unique signature in the bustling crowds.
"Nobu has no magical energy though", Thinks Reina, worried about his friend as he decides to embark on a quest to locate and help Nobu.
As for Nobu, his heart is racing as he finally manages to free himself from the thick roots of the tree. He has barely taken a step before a sudden blast of water magic struck him. "Holy moly that was close," he stammers, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "I almost didn't make it."
But Nobu doesn't waste any time dwelling on his close call. He vanishes from his current spot and switches several feet away, swapping places with a pocket of thin air as he goes, appearing behind his enemy.
"So fast!" gasps the other boy, stunned by Nobu's sudden movement.
Taking advantage of the situation, Nobu deftly snatches the other boy's number before switching with thin air and standing up into the tree above them. The boy is left shaking, unable to comprehend how Nobu had managed to move so quickly and effectively.
"Give that back to me!" the boy screams, his hands crackling with magical energy.
But Nobu just grins, crushing the number in his hand with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Oops," he says, his warm smile belying his sly tactics. "Looks like you're out of luck, my friend. You're disqualified!"
The other boy glares at him, furious and defeated all at once. But Nobu just shrugs it off, then continues his way to the center of the forest, trying to secure his spot in the competition even though his body is a little bruised.
Sayuri moves swiftly through the dense forest, her mastery of shadow magic allowing her to nimbly avoid any obstacles in her path. As she moves forward, she summons shadowy hands that grasp at the branches of the trees, propelling her forward with effortless grace.
As she emerges into the center of the field, the familiar voice announces that the third spot had been claimed. Sayuri pumps her fist in the air, a wide grin spreading across her face.
"Yahoo!" she exclaims, her pride in her own abilities shining through. "Looks like I'm the third one. Not bad!"
With a sense of satisfaction, she takes a moment to catch her breath and survey her surroundings. Sayuri looks up and sees another boy standing before her. He had already reached the goal before her, and she can't help feeling a little disappointed.
"Congratulations!" he says with a small smile, extending his hand. "I'm Yagami. Nice to meet you."
"It's Sayuri," she replies, shaking his hand. "So you're the second one to reach the goal, right?"
"The second?" Yagami chuckles. "Actually, I was the first one to arrive. The second one is one of my friends, and he already left! He said he has a rough idea about the ones that are going to take the spots."
Sayuri sits on the ground, still trying to catch her breath. "Then you're the one who summoned that frost spell earlier?" she asks, amazed by the power of that technique. "You're on a whole other level, truth be told!"
"No, that wasn't me," corrects Yagami. "That magic was my friend's. I'm a light magic wielder."
"Oh, I see," adds Sayuri. "I thought that the one who used that skill would definitely be the first one to finish the task! Guess I was wrong!"
Yagami chuckles again. "It's not all about power, you know", He shares, "Sometimes it's about strategy and a little bit of luck. I just shielded myself with light and avoided all of the foes that tried attacking me. But don't worry, you made it to the third spot, and that's impressive too!"
Getting back to Nobu, As he continues running through the dense forest, his heart races with excitement and anticipation. He can feel the thrill of the competition pulsing through his veins, as he imagines himself crossing the finish line in triumph. "So pipsqueak has already made it to the goal," he thinks to himself, a grin spreading across his face. "She's really something!"
The forest grows darker and more mysterious as he ventures deeper into its depths, and Nobu feels a shiver running down his spine. But he pushes forward, his determination unflagging. "Sayuri, Ash, and Katsu are almost hitting the finish line as well," he muses, feeling a sense of camaraderie with his fellow competitors as he keeps following their presences. "They'll probably cross the finish line together"
As he approaches the towering frozen spike and the frozen lake, Nobu feels a sense of awe at its intimidating presence. "The one who conjured this spell must have been a real force to be reckoned with," he muses, his eyes scanning the structure for any signs of weakness. "But still, that frost mage wasn't the first one to reach the center. Man, they really are..."
Suddenly, without warning, a figure appears before him and delivers a powerful punch, sending Nobu tumbling to the ground. Pain shoots through his body as he struggles to regain his footing, and even more blood starts streaming down his face from the impact. His heart pounds with fear and confusion as he faces his attacker, wondering who could have done this.
Nobu's heart pounds in his chest as he sees the dark figure standing before him. The man exudes a palpable aura of malice, and his cold, emotionless eyes send shivers down Nobu's spine.
"Well, well, well...if it isn't a little rat," the man sneers, his lips curling into a cruel smirk. "What are you doing here, boy? This is no place for weaklings like you."
Despite the fear that grips him, Nobu grits his teeth and tries to muster up the strength to stand. He knows he's no match for this man, but he refuses to go down without a fight.
"Who are you?" he demands. "What do you want?"
The man just chuckles darkly, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he generates magic in his hand. "You don't need to know who I am," he says. "All you need to know is that you are in my way, and that's something I cannot tolerate."
Before Nobu could react, the man lashes out with his threads, slicing through the air with blinding speed. Nobu tried to dodge, but the threads move too fast, cutting through his skin like a hot knife through butter. He lets out a cry of pain as he feels the threads slice deep into his flesh, leaving him covered in bleeding gashes.
Gasping for breath, Nobu struggles to stay on his feet, his body wracked with pain. But despite the agony, he refuses to give up. He glares up at his attacker, his eyes burning with defiance. The man snares down at Nobu, his eyes blazing with malice as he unleashes another wave of deadly threads toward the wounded young man. But before the threads could strike their target, they were suddenly cut apart by the swift, clean stroke of Reina's katana.
"Nobu, you look awfully hurt!" Reina exclaims with concern etched on his face as he quickly assesses the extent of his friend's injuries. He turns to face the other man, his blade at the ready. "You leave my sight for a second and get yourself into such a mess?"
The man's eyes narrow as he regards Reina, a snarl curling his lips, "You're Reina of the arcane," he growls, suddenly switching to an awfully evil grin. "My pray falls right into my hands, how delightful!"
The man's threads constrict around Reina like a vice, his magic energy draining rapidly. Reina grits his teeth, trying to break free with all his might, but it's no use. The threads seem to be infused with some kind of dark magic that saps his strength away.
"You're the key to achieving master Warhammer's ambition", Says the man, still absorbing Reina's almost unlimited arcane energy.
Reina's eyes widen in shock at the man's words. He has always known that his magical abilities are highly sought after, but he has never imagined that he's the key to someone's ambition. The man's words send a chill down his spine as he struggles to break free from the threads that bind him.
The man towers over Nobu, a sinister grin on his face as he taunts him. The threads that bind Reina pulse with otherworldly energy, sapping his strength with each passing moment. Nobu's heart races as he tries to find a way out of this deadly predicament.
"Don't waste your energy," Says the foe, addressing Reina, his voice laced with malice. "Those threads absorb your magical energy. The more you try to cut them, the faster your energy will be drained."
Nobu's eyes narrow as he realizes the gravity of the situation. He knows he must act fast if he is going to save his friend. But before he can make a move, the evil man kicks him hard, sending him sprawling to the ground.
Pain courses through Nobu's body as he struggles to get back up. But the evil man is relentless, kicking him over and over again, each blow more brutal than the last. Nobu grits his teeth, refusing to give up.
Reina watches in horror as Nobu endures the savage beating. He tries to break free of the threads that bind him, but they only grow tighter, draining him of his life force. He feels his strength ebbing away, his body growing weaker by the second.
Finally, Nobu manages to get back on his feet, his fists clenched in fury. "Let go of him," he growls, his voice laced with determination. "This fight is between us. He has nothing to do with it."
But the evil man just laughs, amused by Nobu's bravado. "Actually, you are the intruder here," he says, his eyes glinting with malevolent intent. "We need his energy, not you."
Reina interrupts, pleading with Nobu to escape and get help from Mr. Kaeya. "Just go, Nobu," he says, his voice barely above a whisper. "We still have some time. They won't kill me because they need me for their plan. It's our best option. I'm starting to feel weaker. I can't stand anymore. These threads are sucking every drop out of me. Just do what I said."
"Actually, I can kill you whenever I want", Sneers the man, "You are our best shot, not the only one."
Fear grips Nobu's heart as he watches the evil man approach him, carrying him by his hair. He flings him to the ground, then slowly walks towards him, his eyes burning with hatred.
"I have an idea," the man says, his voice dripping with cruelty. "What if I kill Reina in front of you, beat the hell out of you, then leave you be? You'll lose your friend, the tournament, and especially hope. It's quite a good plan, right?"
The man takes a step forward, a malevolent energy gathering in his hand. Reina's eyes widen in terror as he realizes what is about to happen.
Nobu watches in horror, his body kissing the dirt, his mind flashing back to a dark memory from his past. He sees the lifeless body of a dear friend, one he was too weak to save. The memory fuels a deep rage within him, a power he has never felt before.
Suddenly, otherworldly energy begins to surge from Nobu's body. It grows stronger and stronger until it becomes a powerful shockwave that rocks the entire area.
The air around them crackles with inexplicable energy, causing everyone in the vicinity to feel a sudden jolt. Sayuri is hit the hardest. She trembles uncontrollably and stumbles, struggling to stay on her feet.
Ash rushes to her side, trying to steady her. "Oy, what's happening, Sayuri? Are you alright?" he asks, concern etched on his face.
As for Katsu, he furrows his brow and scans the strange energy. "It's not magical energy," he observes, "and it's definitely not demonic. I don't recognize this feeling at all."
Sayuri raises a quivering hand and points toward a distant location. Her eyes are filled with a mix of fear and horror as if she's reliving a traumatic experience. "It's... it's just like... that day," she stutters, leaving the others bewildered.
Suddenly, she lets out a shuddering breath and whispers, "It's the same power... the same power that destroyed Paradise." The words hang in the air like a heavy weight, causing the others to exchange uneasy glances.
Everyone falls silent as Sayuri's words sink in. The same power that destroyed Paradise? That was unthinkable. Everyone thought that the cause of Paradise's fall vanished years ago. And then one of the few witnesses of that cataclysm, declares that the cause is still alive.
As he rises to his feet, his body pulsates with a strange energy. And an otherworldly sword appears in his left hand, sending shockwaves through the air around them. It is a blade like no other - massive and imposing, with veins that pulse with an unearthly power. The eyes of all who gaze upon it are drawn to a single, ominous closed eye that glows in the center of the blade. The Soul-Edge.
Nobu grips the hilt of the sword tightly, feeling its power coursing through his veins. "I was chosen?", Thinks Nobu, eyes fixed on this unique weapon, "My presence, it's getting higher! But... It's still not the same as the others!"
As he steps forward, his eyes flare with energy, shifting from their usual deep blue to a dark purple that seems to glow with an eerie light. It's as if something inside him has been awakened, something that had lain dormant for far too long. Reina keeps looking at his friend, amazed and yet terrified as well, "Is this the same Nobu?"
Nobu's voice booms with newfound strength, as he stands tall and proud, his grip on the Soul Edge tightening. His eyes burn with an intensity that makes his foes shudder.
"I said it once, and I hate repeating myself," he declares, his voice low and dangerous. "You lay one hand on my brother, then I'll gladly slaughter you!"
"Are you freaking mocking me?" As the man launches another wave of threads toward Nobu, the air crackles with the sheer power of his attack. However, instead of flinching, Nobu remains still, his eyes calmly fixed on his opponent. And, he decides to play with the man's pride, he darts forward and appears right in front of the man, causing him to stumble back in surprise.
The man's eyes widen in terror as he realizes he was face-to-face with Nobu. Trembling with fear, he tries to muster the courage to attack again, but before he could do so, Nobu raises his sword and swings it with a swift and deadly motion. A wave of energy emanates from the blade, slicing through the air and tearing through the man's body with a sickening crunch. The man's scream is cut off abruptly as he's impaled on the giant spike of frost, his body skewered like a helpless insect. And the threads that had once threatened Reina's life dissipate into nothingness.
Nobu's body shakes with exhaustion as he collapses to the ground, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. Reina rushes to his side, his eyes wide with concern. "Nobu, are you okay?" he asks, his voice trembling with worry.
But before Nobu can answer, something strange happens. The sword in his hand begins to glow with purple light, and as Reina watches in amazement, it transforms into a sleek bracer that slides effortlessly onto Nobu's left arm.
There's a strange symbol etched into the surface of the bracer, and as Reina watches, the eye on it slowly opens, revealing a glowing demonic pupil that seems to pulse with an inner light, then it closes again after a moment. Nobu groans in pain, his body wracked with spasms.
In the opulent halls of the royal castle, a man and a young lady stand deep in conversation, their voices hushed as they discuss the exam.
"How may I aid you, milady?" the man asks, bowing low before her.
The young lady turns to face him, her silver eyes sparkling with an intensity that strengthens her delicate features. "So tell me, Soldier Shinso," she says, her voice tinged with excitement. "Did you hear the news about this year's exam?"
Shinso nods gravely, his eyes serious as he speaks to the young lady. "Yes, Your Highness," he replies. "Rumors are swirling that the last aura unleashed is the same as the one that destroyed Paradise. It's just as you foresaw last year. And the arcane one is already developing at a fast rate. He might reach his full potential in 2 years, just in time!"
The young lady's eyes widen with anticipation. "Excellent," she says, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. And now, the time has finally come."
"Take the sphere of Kamaitachi, and go to the Grim Ruins", She continues, ordering Shinso, "Confirm the appearance of Kamaitachi's vessel!"
Shinso bows once more, his face solemn. "As you wish, Your Highness," he says, his heart beating faster with excitement. As he turns to leave, he can't help but feel a thrill of anticipation coursing through his veins. "Wonderful," he adds, his hand over his mouth as he tries to contain his excitement. "These newbies are going to change the world!"
"Especially him," he continues, looking at the sphere and the horrific power swirling within it as the demonic eye appears in it. The power swirling within it is colored in a dark purple, and it seems to be moving with a life of its own. The demonic eye is not just a surface projection, but it is actually inside the sphere, just like the power. He can see it staring back at him, almost as if it is alive.
"He'll just surpass all of them! The thought of his power sends chills down my spine." As he walks away, he can't help but feel a sense of foreboding, "The world, might finally be changed!"
Twelve years ago, a tragedy struck a Village, annihilating all those who lived peacefully there. he was just five years old at the time, and the village was known as Paradise. His father had disappeared in search of power and knowledge before the boy was even born, so he has never known his father. During his birth, a strange surge of energy emanated from his body. It wasn't mana or pure power. It wasn't even demonic energy. However, it was similar to the one witnessed during the entrance exam. This outburst of energy was beyond anyone's control and explanation. And it, unfortunately, resulted in the death of his mother. The force of the energy drained her magical energy and life essence, leaving her body as a mere shell of its former self. For three years after his birth, he had a terrible power that made him a source of fear and horror to the citizens of Paradise. Anything he touched withered and died, regardless of whether it was plant, animal, or human. Even though he had no magi
As Nobu and Reina finally cross the finish line, their friends are waiting eagerly for them. The group erupts into cheers and applause as they join the center of the battlefield, their Ash and the others running up to congratulate them with high-fives, hugs, and pats on the back. "Congratulations, you two! You did amazing!" Shouts Ash, beaming with pride as he claps Reina on the back. As the rest of their friends continue to celebrate, Satomi rushes toward Reina and Nobu, her face filled with concern. "It took you long enough," she says, her voice trembling with worry. "Satomi...", Reina tries to speak, but before he can say anything, Satomi throws herself at both of them, knocking them to the ground in a tight embrace. Tears stream down her face as she clings to her friends. "You made me worry, idiots!" she chokes out, her voice muffled by their bodies. "I even started thinking that some other participants will steal the last two spots, you know..." Reina and Nobu exchange a look
As they eagerly complete their selection forms, anticipation filled the air. With keys to their rooms in hand, the group separates, eager to explore their new surroundings. Sayuri and Satomi indulge in a luxurious shower, their voices carrying through the steamy mist as they chat and giggle. As the water cascades down their bodies, Satomi can't help but marvel at the fact that she's sharing a shower with a member of the prestigious Violra family. "Sayuri Violra," she says in awe, "I never thought I'd meet a royal so soon in our journey." Sayuri chuckles softly. "Being a royal isn't all it's cracked up to be," she replies, the water running down her face as she rinses out the suds. "But I can't deny that there are certain privileges that come with the title." Satomi can't help but laugh at her friend's modesty. "Are you kidding me?" she exclaims, her long dark hair splayed out behind her as she rinses it with shampoo. "Royals are not only wealthier, but their magical abilities are fa
Satomi stands in front of Nobu and Reina, her fists clenched and her face red with anger. Her friends look up at her sheepishly, knowing they've once again put themselves in danger. "You... Both of you..." She stammers, struggling to keep her temper in check. "Why do you always end up getting into these freaking deadly situations?" She screams, hitting their heads with her fists. "You could've gotten yourselves killed!" Nobu and Reina both flinch, hands over their heads as they feel the pain of the fresh blow, "We... We're sorry", They whisper in unison. "Um... Satomi?" Yagami interjects, his voice calm and soothing. He kneels beside Reina, his hands glowing with healing light. "Would you mind controlling your anger a little? I mean, no need to get their condition to worsen, right?" Satomi takes a deep breath, her anger slowly dissipating. She looks at her friends, concern etched on her face. "It's not my fault that they keep jumping into trouble!" She stammers, before taking anot
After a much-needed break, the fresh soldiers gather once again in the training camp, eager to tackle the challenges that lay ahead. While most of them are beaming with enthusiasm, Nobu lets out a sigh and buries his face in a bar of chocolate. "Why do we need to go through all this training before heading to the capital?" He grumbles. "It's such a hassle. I don't want to train anymore!" Sayuri playfully drums on Nobu's head as she chimes in, "That's so unlike you!" She says, "I thought you're the one who trains the most, but it appears you're not into working hard!" "It's not that he just hates training," Clarifies Reina, summoning his katana, "He's also feeling a little down because he heard that he's the weakest in three different stats." "Oh, I see." Sayuri's face lights up with understanding. As her eyes shine after spying on the bar of chocolate in Nobu's hands. "Ooh, that looks delicious! Can I have a piece?" She grins. But before she can even reach for it, Nobu quickly pul
"Nobu... Nobu... Where have you been all these years..." Kira mutters hollowly, his voice echoing through the dark void. Nobu stands frozen, his eyes are all black and his heart heavy with guilt. "I thought... I thought you died in my hands that day..." Nobu stammers, his voice barely audible. "You... You abandoned me!" Kira's voice is filled with anger and hurt as he moves closer to Nobu, his body beginning to decay. "You broke your promise! YOU... You destroyed our little garden and our Paradise." Nobu steps back in horror, only to find himself trapped by roots that have grown from the ground. He falls to the floor, his face twisted with sorrow as he watches Kira deteriorate in front of him. "It's because of you..." Kira's voice is barely a whisper now, as he holds out Nobu's necklace. "I died because of you! It's your fault!" Nobu looks around at the surrounding corpses, his heart sinking at the realization of what Kira is saying. "Look around you!" Kira shouts, his body crumb
Despite the pain, despite the odds stacked against him, Nobu's spirit remains unbroken. He knows that he is fighting for something greater than himself, for a chance to prove his worth and silence the voices haunting his mind. Shinso's voice echoes through the arena, his hand raised as if he is about to reveal a great secret. Nobu, still panting and wounded, looks up at his teacher with a mix of exhaustion and defiance in his eyes. "Can I ask you something, Nobu?" Shinso requests, his tone laced with a hint of curiosity. He remains silent, refusing to give Shinso the satisfaction of a response. However, Shinso doesn't seem to mind and continues his probing, his hand still held up in a questioning manner. "Why are you so desperate, Nobu?" Shinso's voice is calm and measured, but there is a hint of curiosity in his tone. "What is driving you to become a sacred soldier? What is the reason behind all this pain and suffering you're willing to endure?" "Despite being the only one stand
Shinso gasps as he hears the news about the sphere from Kaeya. "So it disappeared! The sphere disappeared once the eye on Nobu's sword opened, right?" Kaeya nods, "Yeah, a portion of Kamaitachi's power definitely got reincarnated in Nobu! But I thought that his power was sealed after the demon war! How is it possible for Nobu to gain a sealed power?" "It's not the whole pie though," Shinso explains as he leans on his seat, "Nobu just got a bit of Kamaitachi's power. Maybe around 20% or so!" They fall into silence for a while as Kaeya puts his hand under his chin, analyzing the information. After a moment, he snaps his fingers, "That amount was leaked by Kamaitachi before they sealed his powers!" he adds, getting a nod of agreement from Shinso. "They divided his power in two before sealing him to make it even harder for the next reincarnation to collect the power," continues Shinso, sighing lightly. "But to think that Kamaitachi was able to leak around 20% before being sealed, that
