Chapter 72: Investment

At the base house, James walked down the dimly lit hallway and entered the living area, where Winter was waiting.

Her posture tensed, eyes scanning the doorway. She seemed almost restless as if the weight of the secrets were pressing down on her shoulders.

James gave her a curt nod as he approached.

“Winter,” he greeted her, his voice calm but with a hint of curiosity. He knew she had valuable information about the Tarlose family, which couldn't be delayed now.

Winter met his gaze, her eyes sharp.

“James, I told you I have solid evidence against the Tarlose,” she began. “I have tried to open my account through the available computer here. I know who’s helping them, and I know those that have been hurt by them too.”

James nodded, encouraging her to continue. “That’s good. It’s exactly what we need. We can’t go after them without understanding who’s on their side,” he spoke up, his eyes calculating.
