CHAPTER 37

"Where am I?" Gary groaned, after he felt his head pounding as he slowly opened his eyes. He looked around and found himself in an unfamiliar and dimly lit room. Panic and fear slowly crept in as he tried to move his hands and realized that they were tied behind his back.

One of the men stepped forward, a look of disdain on his face which was hidden behind the ski mask.

"You're in our little hideaway," the man said, grinning.

Who are you? What do you want from me?” Gary demanded, his voice shaking with fear.

“We don’t want anything from you. We were just paid to take you.”

“Paid by who? You have to tell me!” Gary pleaded.

The kidnapper remained silent, his eyes cold and unfeeling. Without warning, he struck Gary across the face, causing him to fall to the ground.

“Don’t ask questions, just shut up and do as you’re told,” the kidnapper snarled.

Over the next few hours, Gary was subjected to a barrage of physical and emotional abuse. He was kicked, punched, and threatened with a knife.
