Meanwhile, Gary had been discharged from the hospital three days ago, but he was still weak and needed assistance with some of his daily activities. Hence Steve had moved in with him temporarily to help out with house chores and make sure Gary had everything he needed while he recovered. On this particular day, Gary was sitting in his living room, scrolling through his phone. He had already checked his emails, caught up on the news, and scrolled through social media, but nothing was holding his attention. He sighed, feeling bored and restless. He looked up and noticed Steve walking by. "Hey Steve," he called out.Immediately, Steve turned around and walked back to the living room. "Yes, sir?"Still gawking into his phone, he said with squinted brows, "How far have you gone with the case? I hope you know that my grandfather's death needs to be avenged as soon as possible."With his hands crossed behind, Steve raised and said. "I'll get it sorted out as soon as possible. Bur then, there
Gary had been sitting on a bench at the park, enjoying the cool breeze and the chirping of the birds. It was a peaceful day, and he was lost in his thoughts when he had overheard two men sitting a few feet away from him. All they said was a surprise to him because he had heard two things from their words. They mentioned Carter and they also mentioned ZR Biotech. At least if Gary knew nothing more which they said, those two words especially were all fitting in suspiciously."...and that's when we got the call. They said to lay low until further notice," one of the men said, his voice hushed but audible to Gary.Gary's ears perked up at the mention of laying low. What did it mean?"...the old man's grandson could be a problem," another voice chimed in.Gary's heart began to race. He was the old man's grandson. What was going on? He looked around nervously, trying to assess if the men were looking at him or if they knew he was listening to them."...we'll have to keep an eye on him," the
Gary watched as the man handed over the pendant, his heart racing with excitement. The piece of jewellery was exquisite, a glittering gold chain adorned with a diamond-encrusted pendant that sparkled in the light. He could hardly believe that a mere necklace could amount to something reasonable as getting connected to murder.Truth be told, he had always watched stuff like that on the TV but never seen such in real life before. Witnessing this was kind of a situation, let alone being a victim in the situation.Everything was still a mystery yet to be unravelled before him. However, a sudden realisation hit him before he turned to leave. He suddenly realised that he had forgotten to ask for his name. He hesitated for a moment, then called out, walking as fast as he could to meet up with the man."Wait up please! I didn't catch your name."The man turned back to face him, a faint smile on his lips. "It's not important," he said. "Just enjoy the pendant. As I said earlier, I hope it offer
Earlier on…..Ariel was sitting in her living room. Of course she has a day off from the hospital and she should at least chill out for a while. As regards the number which had been on her neck for sometime as regards poisoning Gary, fate seemed to have taken that also off her path for some time now.So she could at least enjoy her sanity. However, she was scrolling through her phone, trying to surf through the internet for fun.Her phone on her right, and a cup of cappuccino on the left. She seemed so into the fun, obviously smiling, without a real understanding of whatever is coming next. Perhaps if she knew, she would have spent her day with the right person, and not buying time with social media. However, all the smiles suddenly disappeared in a jiffy when her phone rang. She glanced at the screen, and her heart sank as she saw the strange number that had been on her trail for quite some time. You could as well say her heart jumped to her throat when she saw the strange number.
"Mr Steve, Ariel is dead." Tom was quick to inform him as regards the latest development.Tom was even quick to conclude that he had seen another body alongside Ariel's body and at that point, he could easily conclude that she was murdered alongside her son.At that point, Tom did feel pity for her, but the deed had already been done, there was no way she could be saved anymore."Ariel is dead?' Steve reinstated to clarify his fears."Yes, young master… Ariel is really dead.""Not just her, I also saw the body of a young body being carried out too. So I'm guessing she was killed alongside her son.""Perhaps, all along, she was being blackmailed using her son as a means of weapon.""Yes, exactly as I thought Mr Steve." Tom said pitifully."Wow, this is a great loss, this wasn't part of the plan either. I think the perpetrator is beginning to know that people are on his trail.""I think the same as well. The perpetrator felt unsafe and decided to take her off the line." Tom explained mor
Just the moment Steve left, Gary remained seated in his study, staring at the second part of the pendant necklace that was still a mystery to him. I hope this necklace brings you some closure as regards your grandfather's death. I hope you find the culprit. Those words echoed right in Gary's head as though the person was just right there before him.A mystery was yet to be unravelled and Gary was feeling impatient about it already. But then he couldn't shake off the feeling that he had seen it before. As he held it in his hand, flashes of familiarity flooded his mind, but he couldn't quite place it.Suddenly, he remembered seeing the necklace on somebody's neck, but he couldn't tell who. He thought of all the people he had met recently, but he couldn't recall anyone wearing it. The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. Then, an idea struck him. Maybe he should go in disguise as though he were looking for a job at ZR Biotech. As that was the closest place he had eve
Gary immediately left the building, with a relieved feeling that his workday was finally over, since he had something important. But then as he was walking towards his car, he suddenly heard a voice from behind him."Fools are not supposed to be in a company like this," the voice said. Gary turned around to see who it was and was surprised to see Raphael, dressed up in a bespoke suit and standing there with a sneer on his face. For a while, Gary was muted. He could only say less words. "You heard me right Gary. Fooks aren't supposed to be here?"At that point, Gary also stood firm and said. "What are you doing here, Raphael?" Gary asked, trying to keep his cool."If you will wish you know, my company partner with this company," Raphael replied, his voice dripping with contempt. "And I don't appreciate you showing your face around here, especially after what you did to my sister.""Your sister! What I did to your sister! Or what your sister and your family as a whole did to me!" Gary
Gary nervously entered Winifield's office, wearing a fake moustache and glasses, hoping his disguise would be enough to conceal his true identity. Winifield also welcomed him warmly and invited him to take a seat. Earlier on while the receptionist was about to send a call to Winifield, she had asked for his name and he had claimed the name Wellington without thinking twice and without remorse either. She had agreed to that and immediately introduced him as that."So, Mr Wellington, what brings you to our company?" Winifield asked with miles across his lips.At first, Gary had realised that there was no form of suspicion, however, he was still on the lookout. He cleared his throat and tried to steady his nerves. "Well, I'm an investor, and… I've heard several things and made my findings about your company. And in all, I realised that your company is proficient, and therefore, I am interested in investing in your company."Winifield raised an eyebrow. Truth be told he was taken by those

The door to the lobby finally opened, and Mr. Bamford walked in with twelve police officers following closely behind him.Silence completely took over the lobby of the building and only the sound of their boots could be heard hitting the tiles as they walked over to where Gary was.The tears in Fallon’s eyes immediately stopped, and a sense of confusion flooded every part of her mind as her eyes followed the officers until they stood in front of her husband and the other five officers."Chief! What are you doing here?” One of the five officers asked with worry evident in his voice. The other four looked just as confused as him, and fear started creeping its way on their faces after the chief didn’t reply immediately.Meeting Gary’s eyes and his bloodstained nose, Mr. Bamford frowned, dragging his gaze down to Gary’s hands locked behind his back, and said, “Uncuff him now!”The firmness in his tone caused Fallon’s eyes to widen with a shocked expression, she opened her mouth, but no wo
The anger that ate at Gary slowly faded, and he looked back to see his wife staring calmly at him, and yet, he couldn‘t stop caring for what she was thinking at that moment about him.Sighing, Gary looked back at Kyle and scoffed, letting go of his collar, causing his back to hit the tile, and a cry escaped his throat.Kyle lay on the floor, holding his chest, crying and moaning, shaking his head as he tried desperately to hold in his sobbing, the room became so quiet that the sound of a pin drop could‘ve been heard.Everyone was shocked by what was happening in the lobby, and Ciara‘s hands were trembling as she tried to remember the police number, her mind a mess.“Ciara! Have you called the police yet?!” Kyle cried in rage as the pain from his face intensified because of the volume of his voice, and he moaned out, “Ciara!”“Yes sir, I‘m sorry sir, um, I need help here...” Ciara stammered with a shaky tone.“What help?”“Umm… What‘s the police number?”“What the hell, Ciara!!”His sw
As the security guards approached Gary and the others, Tom calmly took out a file from his briefcase and looked back at Kyle and the investors.“Well, I am a lawyer with a couple of degrees, including Doctor of Juridical Science degree, and this is a valid will that both Mr. Larsons and the law enforcement officials‘ signatures are on, which proves everything that Fallon has told you guys, that this company is now under her management,” Tom explained calmly, taking out the document and showing it to the investors.“I have worked with Morgan before, and that is definitely his signature on this paper. He‘s a man of honor, and so am I,” Mr. Walker immediately stated, glaring at Kyle. The security reached the scene but immediately stopped out of confusion, seeing that no one was attacking Kyle and just stood there looking at each other.“It could be a fraud! Who knows...” Kyle answered, shrugging nonchalantly.“But we do know. You just blurted out that you thought the will got destroyed a
Gazing intensely into the bathroom mirror, Gary reached for his toothbrush but then paused as a memory of Lawyers Morgans‘ words kept replaying in his head, the looks on his face when he said those words, and the way his body reacted a bit nervously to question about the will.Immediately, he grabbed his phone off the sink and scrolled for Tom‘s number until he got to it, dialing it.After ringing his number, the call got answered and Tom‘s voice popped up through the speaker, “Good morning, Boss...”“I need us to discuss something important later on today," Gary said as he watched the bathroom door reflection in the mirror slowly pushed open, and Fallon popped her head inside. Thankfully, he was tying a towel around his waist.“I'll be on my way then."“Good, we will wait on you guys before we leave, so be here by nine.”Wondering who her he was talking to so seriously at seven in the morning, Fallon reached her hands around his waist and kissed his bare back, resting her head flat a
A look of fear entered Morgan’ eyes, his expression twisting with anxiety, terror, and helplessness as he and Gary continued to stare at each other. “Which will?” Mr. Morgan finally questioned. “The will that Mr. Larson left Fallon,” Gary stated plainly, averting his gaze to stare straight into the old man’s eyes, daring him to try and lie.“Whi-cho-ne…?” Mr. Morgan murmured, barely audible for anyone to hear. Then he saw Gary’s brows furrowing, and he knew that he was getting impatient as his eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward slightly in his chair.“Don’t act like a dummy with me… speak louder.” Gary uttered in a stiff tone.Immediately, Morgan’ face turned pale, his body tensing, and then his eyes widened as he blurted out, “Oooh! Oh!! Do you mean the will Alora gave Fallon the night of Mr. Larson’s death anniversary party?!”“Is there another will for Fallon?” Gary asked as he raised his eyebrows.“No! No… no… I was just scared and my mind took its time to process everything.”
The words that Gary said to Jeremy never left Fallon’s thoughts, even though the morning was now evening, and Gary was sleeping.Adjusting her head on his warm chest, Fallon looked at him, just staring, allowing her thoughts to run wild in her head, as she listened to his heart beating, feeling his chest rise and falling, listening to his breathing.‘What package were you talking about?’ Fallon wondered as she bit her lower lip, thinking furiously. All of a sudden, she heard his phone go off, causing Garyto shift slightly on the bed, hugging onto her waist tightly, and burying his face deeper into her neck “Gary, your phone,” Fallon whispered, feeling reluctant to wake him and yet, also wanting an answer.“Hmm…” He mumbled sleepily, his voice barely audible.“Your phone…,” Fallon repeated, her tone a lot louder than a few minutes ago as she tried again to shake him awake. Finally, Gary opened his eyes, blinking slowly for several seconds. After a few more seconds he seemed to register
Anger immediately started to rise inside of her as Fallon glared at Alora with a look of pure hatred, and without even realising it, she blurted. “Grandpa left that company for me, and you can’t just take what he gave to me away!” A faint chuckle escaped Alora’s throat as she gazed down at her granddaughter, before she replied. “Oh yes, I can… you know, I thought you were getting married to this… this human being because you want to own something in this family and be a part of us…” A pause followed her words as she watched Fallon’s eyes for a sign of fear and submission and when she saw a slight flicker of emotion in her step granddaughter’s eyes, she smiled, knowing that she managed to hit Fallon’s weak spot. “I will not tolerate the disrespect I am seeing from you, Fallon, and since that’s how you want to behave, I am taking this opportunity to let you know you aren’t fit to take over any of the family business. I don’t need an arrogant, selfish, and prideful woman who does not
The dull morning light in her face with her body wrapped into Gary’s arms, Fallon just stared at him, his lashes, the details of his lips, unable to look away. Her hand rested on his cheek, and looked at his shut eyes, stroking his skin lightly as she felt her breathing become slow and steady. “I know it was just nonsense that she said, but I still can’t get her words out of my head…” Fallon whispered, leaning in closer until there were no more inches between them, their breaths mingling together. “What can’t you get out of your head?” Gary asked, his voice low and soothing as his eyelids slowly opened. Not expecting him to even be awake, Fallon froze, trying desperately to think of something, anything because she didn’t want to tell him about the conversation between Sandra and her.“Nothing,” Fallon quickly replied, pulling her face back, feeling a heat rise to her cheeks. “It’s nothing. You should go back to sleep. Yesterday was hectic, and my crying kept you up late.” “Fallon,
