“What is that supposed to mean?” Rieka played daft

He took a step backward. “Young lady, all you have to do is warm my bed. I know you need this job at all costs, use what you have to get what you want. Other ladies are wishing to have this opportunity with me.”

“I’m married. I can’t do it. I can't give out my dignity because of a job.” Rieka refused bluntly.

Gerald couldn't control his anger. “So you think you are a saint? Well, if you don't give in, you can bid working with Top Notch Group goodbye forever.

Gerald wanted to have her by all means.

“Noah?”

Rieka turned to Noah.

Noah pursed his lips. “Forget about him, he can't decide your fate. His words are mere empty threats. He is not worth your time.”

Gerald turned to Noah. “Who do you think you are? How dare you, little brat?”

Noah was quiet he had nothing to say to him.

After all, he was the Supreme Ruler and a General. He can't waste his words on a power-drunk fellow.

Rushing out of a Maybach vehicle was the overall head and chairman of Top Notch Group.

Brucy had an impromptu and urgent meeting with the board of directors via Zoom which made him come to the office late.

He was nervous that he must have kept her waiting.

Being tensed, immediately he entered, he did not acknowledge the greetings coming from all those he walked past. Heading to the receptionist, he asked if any woman came looking for him but she said no.

Damn, he thought. Rieka must have left since he came late to the office. How could he correct this because no one can spare him from the Supreme Ruler's wrath?

Brucy was about to use the elevator when he saw his manager speaking to a lady and noticed Noah's presence. Giving out an exasperated breath of relief, he walked up to them.

“Sup…”

Before he could complete his statement, Noah cleared his throat.

Brucy quickly understood the message he was trying to pass across.

“Oh mine, this is the chairman of Top Notch Group. Thank goodness he came at the right time. You got this.” Noah said happily.

Rieka was surprised. The chairman of Top Notch Group, Brucy Kings stood before her.

Approaching them, Brucy asked with a happy expression. “What is going on here?”

Gerald wore an unhappy expression.

“Chairman,” Gerald shivered. If Brucy found out what he tried to do, he'd either be demoted or lose his job.

“What’s going on?” Brucy spread his arms.

Rieka managed to put herself together. “Hello, Mister Kings. I'm Rieka Fullams. I'm here to make inquiries if there's a job opportunity I can fit in or submit my credentials for future consideration.”

Brucy Kings was rarely seen in public. He had subordinates who did most of his jobs for him. Rieka felt little and below his caliber to stand and talk to him.

There were millions of people looking for the opportunity to meet and talk with Brucy Kings in person. Even the rich must follow protocol before seeing him.

“Is anything the problem?” You look worried.” Brucy's face tightened as he gazed at Gerald.

Noah explained. “My wife’s here to seek a job opportunity, but this man wanted to take advantage of her. I think this should not be tolerated in Top Notch Group, it would be a stain to the legacy of the company.”

“Certainly.”

Brucy said, “This won't be the first time he's doing such. We can't condone such acts in the company. Gerald Ford, you are fired!”

“What?”

Gerald couldn't believe his ears.

Was he dreaming?

“Chairman, it's not like that. There are no job openings now. She looked desperate, so I came up with an excuse to drive her away. I can never tarnish the image of the company.”

“I won't repeat myself, get lost now.” Brucy pointed to Gerald.

Fixing his focus on Rieka, he said. “Rieka, this way, let's proceed to my office so we can discuss this deeply.”

Brucy politely gestured with his arm.

Was this a joke?

When did the well-known Brucy Kings become humble and caring?

Noah encourages her again. “Follow after him. This is an opportunity you can't afford to miss.”

Rieka nodded. “Of course! After you, Mister Kings.”

She was nervous.

She had heard a lot of things about Brucy Kings, but it was never mentioned that he was kind, respectful, and easygoing.

She wanted just a job to earn a living, but the chairman of Top Notch Group took her case personally.

Looking scared, she looked at Noah. “I'm scared, are you sure about this?”

Noah stood up, holding her shoulders, he said. “You have nothing to worry about, dear. I'm here with you. Don't keep him waiting.”

“Rieka Fullams, let's use this way. Brucy bowed slightly, waiting for her at the door to the elevator.

Gerald who was still trying to plead for mercy stood speechless at this display.

Who could she be?

Why did she receive such warm and nice treatment from the chairman?

Still sitting in the reception corner, Andy walked in and sat beside Noah.

Then he asked. “Why did you have to go through all that stress? All you needed was to give an order.”

Noah smiled. “Taking it forcefully would have made no sense. Rieka might be scared to take the job. Let her experience the process.”

In the chairman's office.

Brucy gave Rieka a chilled energy drink and cookies.

Rieka was mesmerized. Calmly, she said, “Thank you, sir. She didn't understand what was happening. “Mister Kings, I'm here because I need a job…”

“Yes! You are right. You must have been stressed before I came to the office, have your drink at least. I'll have my secretary prepare your appointment letter now. Is a basic monthly salary of two thousand dollars enough?

“Huh?”

Rieka was shocked.

Brucy didn't even scroll through her credentials before talking about giving her a monthly salary of two thousand dollars. Was it that easy to get a job with Top Notch Group?

Brucy noticed Rieka's expression and wondered what could be wrong. Then he said, “Do you have a higher salary expectation? Say it and it will be granted.”

“Not at all, it's enough. I'm just eager to know the position I'll be working in in your company.” Rieka replied gently.

“My personal assistant!”

This sounds too good to be true.

Brucy Kings personal assistant?

With this position, everyone would want to become Rieka's friend so they could get access to the chairman anytime.

Within the twinkle of an eye, her appointment letter was ready. Rieka signed two copies, one belonging to her and the other to the company. She was still in a state of disbelief.

As she was about to take her leave, Brucy added. “You are to resume tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day.”

Noah's name disappeared from his mouth for the time he interacted with Rieka. He can't bear to say anything that will depict he knows Noah.

It was obvious that Rieka didn't know who her husband truly was so he had to play along.

Submitting her credentials on the table, she held her appointment letter. Exiting the office, her knees were wobbly because it felt like a movie.

She returned to where Noah sat. “Let's go!”

Noah nodded and they got into the car.

“Could you believe that my monthly salary is two thousand dollars? I think there is more to this that I don't know about. He did not even scroll through my credentials before giving me the position of his personal assistant.”

Noah giggled. “You must have obtained favor in his sight.”

“Favour?”

“How?”

“This is the first time I'm meeting with him.”

“Noah darling, Brucy knows you right?”
