CHAPTER 014

Rieka's heart was in a shattered state. One action she took five years ago ruined her emotional balance for years and is now ruining her life.

Regret filled her heart.

She helped the person escape because she felt guilty but the aftermath of the pain she passed through was in multiple folds.

Her family, including her mother, saw her as a curse in the family.

At the point where she's attaining financial balance and genuine happiness, her past sent her life into shambles.

“I promise, I had nothing to do with all this. Please show me Mercy.”

“Mercy? The next time you mention that word, I'll torture you till you draw your last breath.”

Silas untied Rieka and dragged her out to the entrance of the hall where the auction took place.

“You'll be a lesson to others and the next in line will be Brucy Kings.”

He wasn't moved by her sobs, screams, and weakness. The blood from the cuts on Rieka's body left stains on the ground with each step she took.

Back to the garden where the auction was taking place.

The items displayed for auction looked fake with poor quality. At that, the bids were ten times higher than the actual worth.

The guests were aware of this because of their vast knowledge of business. They had no choice but to bid for it because of the relationship they had with the Grichys before they went bankrupt. On the other hand, Silas is unpredictable when things don't turn out the way he desires.

The next item was brought on stage for the bid. It was the statue made of pure gold.

The auctioneer began. “Oh, mine! This item is made of pure gold. Bidders must not bid less than one million naira at each bid. The starting bid is ten million dollars.”

The guests were left in awe after seeing the broken statue appear again. The statue Rieka broke was fake. It dawned on them that it was bait to destroy Rieka and her family.

It spread like wildfire across Linton City that Liam had a misunderstanding with Rieka, so Brucy Kings made them go bankrupt because of a hidden relationship he shares with Rieka.

The authentic statue was worth three billion dollars, yet the bid for the fake one was going for ten million dollars. From the difference between the two worths, it indicates that the Grichy's has displayed a forged item.

“I want the statue! I bid twelve million.” An elderly man said from the crowd.

“From the Swelvys, we bid fourteen million.”

“Representing the Ariel's, we bid sixteen million.”

The bidding for the statue made of pure gold went very high despite they all knew it was fake. They did all that to remain and be in Silas’ good book.

The fake statue of gold was finally bought at thirty million dollars.

While the attendees cheered and gave applause, a man walked in and grabbed the microphone.

His eyes emitting daggers and a knife in his hands.

When all gaze was fixed on him, he spoke. “The auction has ended. I want you all to assemble at the entrance to this hall now!” Silas commanded.

Silas threw the microphone on the floor. Everyone became tensed and followed him as he walked out of the hall.

While everyone was outside, they saw a lady on her knees.

Her dress was stained, her hair disheveled and blood gushing out of the cuts on her chest.

The guests widened their eyes in disbelief.

Moving closer, they recognized her. It was Rieka Fullams.

They froze at the spot they stood, no one dared to say a word.

“I don't want to die… help…”

Rieka stretched forth her hands as she saw people around her through blurry vision. She pleaded for help, but there was nothing they could do because they couldn't contend with Silas Grichy.

Silas walked over to where she knelt. He slapped her hard making her scream. Squatting, he placed the knife across her neck. “If you overstep your boundaries with the Grichys, you must face the consequences.”

Again, the knife slashed across Rieka's chest.

“Ahhh!” Rieka cried.

“I am tired of the pain and torture! Just end my life!”

All she wanted at that moment was freedom! Freedom from Silas’ torture, freedom from pain and regrets. She preferred he ended her life at once.

Noah and Andy entered the hall through the back door. Noah disguised with his face cap and eye patch.

Noah and Andy noticed there was no one in the hall. Turning around, he heard a voice, which came through from the entrance of the hall.

They made their way to the entrance of the hall, and the attendees’ eyes were directed to a spot. Fixing his gaze on where their attention was, he saw Rieka in pain pleading for her life. Her white dress was stained with blood and spots of dirt.

Seeing her get tortured, he became hostile and furious. Anger erupted from within him.

Andy took a deep breath and looked at Noah whose exposed eyes were filled with rage. Andy remained still.

He had never seen Noah this furious. The rage he used at the warfront was nowhere compared to the rage he displayed and he'd kill thousands of the enemy's soldiers alone.

No one dares to calm Noah down when he is furious because his looks alone emit daggers.

“You must be a fool for tampering with the Grichy's family. We are a strong force that no one can contend with. I will end your life now.”

A voice roared from the crowd

“Don't you dare!”

Everyone gazed at themselves to see who spoke, and who had the courage to challenge Silas.

“Who dares speak before me?” Silas boldly questioned.

Silence filled the air.

The next moment, Silas Grichy yanked Rieka's hair, making her look at the people. “For the last time,” he said calmly. “Where is he? Who is the survivor of the Kendrick family?” Silas uttered again, “I will end your life now!”

The voice echoed again. “Don't you dare!”

Noah's roar was etched with a quest for war and vengeance.
