Chapter 19

Kim on seeing Danny approach them, immediately walked over to him and held him by the hand.

“Mr manager, this is my husband Danny, and as for you Martha I'm so disappointed in you...”

Danny ignored both Mark and Martha despite Kim introducing him to them. He only gestured towards the entrance. 

“Go on love,” he said. “You're here to meet the chairman and not a low life manager. Just ignore him, I'll handle things from here.”

Mark stared at Danny coldly, stood in front of him with his face etched in a mixture of anger and disappointment at the way Danny treated them.

“And who the hell do you think you are, boy? You're here acting all tough."

Danny had just a few words to say to Mark.

He still was the legendary General Wolf of the Phoenix elite after all. Mark was just a nobody.

“Get off my face, else you want to do that the hard way."

In the chairman's office on the fourth floor of the Jasper and Hector's Group building.

Damian Ferguson had been waiting for Kim's arrival since morning, but she still hasn't shown up.

Out of curiosity and extremely anxious, he proceeded downstairs to the first floor, checking in with reception if a woman by the name Kim Morris had asked after him. 

The reception confirmed almost immediately that no one by that name had come by.

What the hell, he thought to himself. I can't miss this appointment with Kim. Kim was General Wolf's wife. 

If he had somehow missed her or messed up this appointment, not even the power of the group's name nor his could protect him.

Damian hurriedly exited the building, planning to go stay at the entrance door to at least welcome Kim on her arrival.

As soon as Damian stepped out of the complex, he saw his manager behaving funny in the presence of two people. 

He glanced over again just to be sure his eyes weren't deceiving him and that's when he noticed Danny. He involuntarily shuddered and his knees almost buckled. 

Wiping the sweat from his face, and getting himself together, he quickly made his way over to them.

"General Wo..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Danny glared at him almost immediately.

Damian understood the glare at once, quickly stopping himself before he got himself into trouble.

Danny's voice barely above whispers, his face laced in surprise at the sight of the bald looking man, who was heading towards them.

“Kim, I think that's the chairman, with the way he's looking? Why are you still standing here? Go on and talk to him, our fate depends on you now.”

Kim followed his finger pointing towards a direction and then she saw the bald looking man. Her eyes lit up in the shock of the moment, she couldn't believe her eyes.That was the chairman of Jasper and Hector's group, Damian Ferguson.

“I can't believe I'm about to face the chairman of Jasper and Hector's group in person. She uttered out in fear."

“This better be good."

Martha, despite being horrified at the sight of the chairman, disgustingly burst out laughing.

“Ha ha, What a joke. The chairman is in his office.”

“You think the chairman would just walk up here and usher you into the complex?"

Mark's face still laced in anger and an ugly expression turned to Kim. 

“Let me make this clear for the very last time. If we don't get going to the hotel now, this deal or whatever you think between your family and Jasper and Hector's group would never work."

He had to have Kim, he couldn't hold himself together any longer, especially now that the chairman himself was in sight and close to getting things ruined.

Every connection Jasper and Hector had with other companies and businesses was under his charge.

Besides closing deals and other activities, he also made decisions on the distribution of the extra orders. If he blocked Morris off within Jasper and Hector's, Kim would never get what she seeks.

Damian drew closer to them, his face stiff and rigid. With a wooden expression, he faced Martha and Mark,b asking.

“What are you both doing out here by this time of the day? Don't you have work to do?”

Mark and Martha almost immediately turned around together.

Their smug expressions slid right off their faces as soon as they saw Damian.

Mark started sweating. His face was laced in fear and guilt reeking all over him, as he nervously cleared his throat as he was about to come up with a lie for the chairman.

If the chairman mistakenly found out what he had been doing, he would lose not just his job, but his life would be over.

“S-sir.” Mark stuttered and crossed his arms defensively.

At this point, all he could do was pray that Damian did not hear what he had said to Kim initially.

Damian couldn't wait any longer for them to come up with an excuse. With his face already laced in disappointment, he spread his arms. 

“You don't seem to have an answer to my question. I said, "What's going on here?”

Just then, Danny lightly shoves Kim, who was already stunned at the presence of the chairman who she has been seeking for.

Kim almost immediately came back to her senses and turned to the chairman. Her voice barely above whispers as she greeted the chairman, almost stuttering.

“H- hi, Mr Damian. I'm Kim Morris from Morris Group."

“I'm here on behalf of the company and my family to explore a collaboration with Jasper and Hector's group and of course we would like to obtain some orders from you.”
