Chapter 18

Martha Shawn bent closer to Kim like she was about to tell her a secret.

“If you want the order and a meeting with Damian, you'll have to...” She whispered something into Kim's ear.

Kim rejected whatever Martha had whispered to her so firmly. 

She even had to push her a little bit just to keep distance from her and her stupid idea.

“Absolutely not. Who do you take me for?”

Martha lost her patience and was frustrated at Kim's reaction towards her

“Kim, if you're not ready to make sacrifices, how will you get anything in return?"

“I've sent your picture to the manager prior to your coming and he has agreed to let you obtain the order and seal the deal if only you sleep with him. You now don't even have to see the chairman!”

Kim's face was laced in bewilderment and anger reeking all over her.

“Martha, really! I thought we were friends. Is this how you treat a friend?”

“I can't believe this is all you could come up with. You promised me Martha, you promised."

Martha was unimpressed, she seemed to be gazing right at Kim with her eyes cast forward. 

“You want to get an order and close a deal without sacrifice? Let me tell you right now, It's almost impossible."

“I think I've made myself clear enough, so think about it, reconsider, and let me know if you still want to go ahead.” 

She turned and left almost immediately, her heels clicking and sounding against the floor loudly.

Kim was still in shock and on the verge of tears. She turned around to look at Danny who had remained silent and still in his Car all this time. 

At the sight of Kim's sudden face change which indicated that all was not well, Danny dusted out of the vehicle and rushed to her aid.

“What did she say to you?"

“What happened?"

Kim couldn't hold her thoughts any longer so she uttered out in despair

“I'm useless, aren't 1?”

Danny comforted her. 

“Of course you're not. Your friend may be nuts for getting you this upset."

“Whatever she must have said doesn't mean anything. We're here for a reason and that we shall accomplish."

“I think Damian Henderson would be in his office, so why not walk in there and see him straightaway? I know he'd love to see you." 

“Go on, I'll wait for you in the car.”

Danny gently pushed Kim in the direction of the building. His thumb is straight and rigid, pointing skywards with confidence and enthusiasm. The wrist relaxed, and the arm raised slightly, showcasing the thumbs up gesture.

“You've got this.”

Just as Kim was about to walk towards the entrance, Martha was seen returning with a middle-aged man.

The man was putting on a white suit and black tie, looking like he was a successful businessman.

Martha had her arm curled intimately around his, and on approaching Kim once again. She said, smiling, 

“Kim, this is the manager of Jasper and Hector's group. He's in charge of all business connections within and around the organization. He calls the shots on who and who doesn't get an order or deal sealed. ”

Obviously now, the only reason Martha was in her present position was all because she had slept with the manager, Mark Luiz. She was his known mistress.

Martha had sent Mark a picture of Kim two days ago after her supposed call with kim.

Make on the other hand was intrigued immediately and wanted to have his way with her. 

So he promised Martha a promotion to the position of deputy department manager if she would help him get Kim into bed with him.

Now that Mark saw Kim in person, he was even more aroused, with a persistent urge to get down with her.

Kim was even more beautiful in person than the picture he got initially.

So he swore on what he believed in that he would get her into bed by any means necessary.

He walked up to Kim, with his chest puffed out and his face laced with a hint of a smile. 

“Kim, right? 

“Your friend Martha has told me everything. Isn't it hot outside?"

“Why don’t we take this discussion somewhere else, a hotel room maybe?"

“You don't have to worry about the deal, just come with me, and I promise not just to get your family acquainted with Jasper and Hector's. I'll even give you a deal of thirty five million dollars in addition to that.”

Mark had the look of a hungry lion. He stared at Kim like he wanted to eat her up right there and then.

Ever since he was appointed the manager, he had slept with countless women, on several occasions, offering them benefits with his role.

At first, they'd all reject him.

However, after a while, they started to offer themselves him in order to access deals, partnerships, and other kind of benefit Jasper and Hector group could offer.

Martha was keen to make Mark’s plan a success as long as it will make him happy and by so doing benefit her.

Already furious and angry at Kim for declining her initially, she walked towards Kim and pulled her aside. 

“Kim, I wouldn't be doing this if it's not something you'd benefit from. I know you've suffered over the years."

“But now that you're beautiful again, why not use your looks to your advantage. We won't stay young forever, remember? Once this time is gone, we'll never get it back.”

“Do what he says and let's get done with this already."

Kim refused to give in and as before stepped back to keep her distance before yelling at Martha with her voice now above whisper.

“I'm married for Christ sake. I would never do no such thing.”

“Get off my way already and let me see the chairman himself. I better take my chances with him than your low life Mr Manager."

Martha lost her temper at Kim almost immediately.

“Who do you think you are, Kim? Don't you know it's an honor that Mark here likes you? If you offend him, you can as well kiss Jasper and Hector's group goodbye forever.”

Just then as she was yelling on top of her voice, Danny left the spot where he was observing all this while, and decided to step in.
