Chapter 02 - An arrogant kid!

Mike appeared in a white room...was that a room, there was no walls any roof except the floor he was standing on everything else just seemed endless,

<Long-Long ago the world of 'Genesis' was at peace without any fights or wars>

Various panels started to hover all around him like a video clip, there were images of people smiling happily, children running around full of innocent smiles...

<But as the saying goes, Forever is a lie, nothing lasts forever, the peace collapsed with the invasion from the hell>

The panel containing the peaceful images of people and happily running children were shattered as new panels of the various demon race attacking and killing people came into his view...

<The world was thrown into chaos>

<Countless lives were lost, blood was shed like liver which formed a sea over dead corpse>

The rampage of demons massacring the people, the tears of the victims, and the pain of the wounded were deciphered in the images.

<The rampage of the demon lasted until one hundred years until finally, the 11 saints rose, the saints who led the humans, elves, dwarves, fairies, and numerous other races came forward with an alliance>

The image of 11 people appeared in front of him, their appearance was not visible as only their back was shown, people were following them confronting the demon,

<The seven Arch-angels descended at the call of people providing support against the demons>

Seven bright stars were shown spreading the light of salvation among the despair of people.

<After a long and fierce fight, they managed to push them back to Hell, but the price was hefty as well>

<Seven among the eleven saints sacrificed their life and two lost their limbs>

<But all was fine now since the demons were gone...>

The people sobbing happily hugging each other and some shedding tears for the ones they lost were visible to him,

<but that was just what the people thought!!>

All the images greyed out as they stopped playing and shattered...leaving Mike absent-minded throughout the entire visual glimpse.

The shock was visible all over his face, he was amazed at the visual glimpse, the sadness of the NPCs which felt too real to be virtual, the cruelty of demons, the sacrifices of the saints, everything made him completely speechless but...

The reason Mike was shocked was that in one of the panels that appeared, there was a man beside the saints, and around him, there was a small ball-like thing that was hovering!

"What was that??"

Besides, on that man's body, there was a gun that looked too advanced to be a pistol, he had a prosthetic arm, made of some kind of metal and a small turret was firing something towards the demons, all of these appeared only for a second and even then, they were overshadowed by the dazzling portraits of the saints and angels, but being an engineer who was specialized in robotics he was not someone who could lose the sight of machines, he was thrilled by the image of that man.

'Will I be able to create machines like that?'

He was already fantasizing about all sorts of things he would do in the game...

<Randomly selecting the spawning village>

<Blueleaf town...confirmed>

It seems like that was the end of the video glimpse as the system prompted him to teleport,

***

Mike appeared in the square of a small village, He could see people moving back and forth, It was quite easy to distinguish the players from the NPCs as the former was staring at various buildings and people in an exciting way with curious eyes,

Well, Mike was not the one to say that as he himself was quite astonished by the sight in front of him,

The majestic tree that stood rooted on the square, under the shade of such a huge tree, the rays of sunshine pouring down as if escaping from the hold of leaves, The medieval age like houses and people who were busy with their day-to-day life.

"Wow! It is impossible to not like the game when it is like this!!"

The people in the current era didn't even have a chance to feel the beauty of nature, most of the forests had become reserves or national parks to save what was remaining of plant and animal species.

Most of the kids born in this era haven't even seen monkeys in real life, that's how much worse the situation had become in 2040. seeing this beauty of nature made him feel both happy and sad at the same time.

The system bought him back to the game as he read through the quest and looked down!

“...!!", only now did he notice that he was still wearing nothing but the undergarments. No wonder the NPC children laughed at him like he was a clown, who wouldn't be looking at a madman in an undergarment feeling all good over sunlight.

Mike hurriedly opened the inventory and equipped everything even before looking at the item's name, and it seemed as if just calling out the name would open the relevant system options.

Now that he was covered in a grey shirt and brown pants with shoes that had multiple holes like a rat had feasted on them, he looked at the item options.

"So, what should I do now??"

According to what the system suggested he could simply kill some monsters and level up till lv. and gain the class he desired...but he didn't feel like fighting!

After seeing the beautiful scenery Mike lost his motivation and just wanted to lay back and enjoy this for a little bit longer, he went near the root of the tree as he leaned on it gazing at the treetop...

"Haaaa...How many days has it been since I relaxed like this?"

He chuckled at his state and continued to enjoy the beauty of the scene in front of him.

Ugh! ugh! ugh!

As if the heavens didn't want him to rest, a low voice of grunting was heard as he looked towards the direction of sound from the corner of his eyes.

A boy was pulling up a bucket of water from the well, he was thin and his face was pale he looked to be about 9-10 years old, it seemed as his strength was not enough to pull up the bucket, but the boy was too stubborn to give up as he continued holding on to the rope.

Mike got up as he dusted off his butt walking towards the well,

He held on to the rope as he asked the boy,

"What are you doing, Kid?"

In return to his question, the boy looked at him menacingly as he said, "I am not a Kid"

"Ah...Ha...ha…I mean what are you doing, sir"

Mike was taken aback by this kid as he asked again sugar coating his words,

"Don't call me sir, my name is Max"

"Oh...Then what does our Max is doing here?"

"Can't you see? I am pulling up water"

The nerves on his forehead bulged as he was losing his cool,

'This arrogant prick'

but the experience of dealing with five smart as*es in his house was not short in vain, as he quickly asked the kid again,

"Then can I ask why you need water, isn't there someone older in your house who can do these kinds of work?"

"Max is the old one in house, I need to pull this water to complete my work so I can buy bread for my brothers and sisters"

Mike got silent at the replay of the kid, what a poor fate for a young child like him...

"How about I help you complete your work?"

Mike asked feeling pity for the kid.

"No Max needs to do his own work, strangers cannot be believed", but  it seemed like the little ba*tard was too eccentric for his own good.

The three-inch pipe that he took from the pile of items had numerous large holes in it and it didn't seem to be damaged due to some experiments but rather looked like some hor*y pervert's work."and what is with this chain?"The rusty chain was so docile that if he just pulled it a bit from both ends it would snap into pieces! Each and every item w

Mike took the paper and pencil from the Old man and started to do a rough sketch of the hand pump. first, he drew two sides of a well and a long iron pipe at one side of the well from which the water will be drawn. and at the upper open end of the well, there was a handle for pumping. Inside the Iron pipe, he drew a circular plate-like thing that will be made of iron, and above it will be a layer of rubber with a check valve. it is drawn in such a way to explain that it will open when the handle of the pump is pushed downward and closes when it is pulled up. A similar check valve is added at the middle of the pipe so that water can only enter from outside and should never go out from inside. and on the upper end of the pipe, a gear is fixed with the piston chain to create pressure and pull up the water. He finished the drawing by sketching the head of the pump which covered the gear and a water outlet just below the handle. As soon as he finished the sketch numerous systems inva

Mike got busy with the work as soon as he entered the workshop! He entrusted the making of iron pipe to the Oldman, even though he seemed like a carpenter from the outside, he felt like he should be able to handle that.He just told him about the requirements of the pipe, to be about 4 inches wide and 10 meters long."That's quite a big one but I guess we need that much since its a well we are talking about"The oldman got to work with a complaint and he even seemed to be oddly in good mood may because he was thinking about money.Mike also didn't waste any time and started to make the remaining parts. The first thing he started was Check-Valve.It was the main component in the pump that ensured that the drawn water doesn't get back to the well again. He first took a big round iron disk that would fit inside the Iron pipe perfectly and drew a circle on it.He cut the iron along the circle and made the same with a rubber disk just that the radius of the rubber was rather larger and it

There was still a lot of time before his log-out period would end.
