Chapter 10 - Jigna's Successor

Mike who shut himself in the Workshop for more than an hour in-game came out noticing the inauguration is going to start.

The first death penalty which decreased his movement speed by 50% for two hours was still in effect.

Players were only allowed to play the game for 15 hours a day on which only one death was allowed, and after the first death, the user would be penalized with a huge 50% decrease in movement speed for two hours after the resurrection and if they die a second time, the person wouldn't be able to log in to the game for the next 12 hours in a real-time, which was quite a harsh penalty, since a day in real life would mean three days in Genesis, it would mean restriction for one and half days in-game.

Currently, Mike with his measly 3 points in dexterity along with the -50% speed penalty, was slow as a turtle.

But even then, during the time he was in the Workshop he was analyzing the different machines there.

It didn't give him exp or anything, but it was oddly satisfying for him.

"It is busier than I thought!"

Mike said looking at the people who were swarming around the Well.

He thought that there would be quite some people since the Bald man took the effort to spread the news among the Villagers about the Well but the current crowd was more than what he had expected!

Almost all of the NPCs of the village and even some of the players were standing around the well looking at it as if it was an ancient relic in the museum.

Of course, Hand-pump in itself was nothing amazing or the sort, what made it special was that Mike made it so that it could run using mechanical work.

Sure he wasn't the first to think about it but for the NPCs of the medieval age, a hand pump was a luxury that they thought only belonged to the nobles.

But currently, what they thought was a property of a Nobel was being adopted in their Village, of course, they would be amazed. Even though it was quite shabby, nevertheless it did the work that it was supposed to do.

At that time a man who was half-bald with a bent back and a long beard came forward in front of the Well and looked towards where Mike was standing.

"Let us thank the man who had made this contribution to our Village"

It was an unexpected expression of gratitude that he didn't intend for.

The Villagers all bowed slightly as they said, 'Thank you', even the puberty kid, Max was bowing politely to him, the bald man beside the Village head had a wide grin on his face as he looked at the frustrated Mike who became shy at their gratitude.

Whereas the players were busy murmuring among themselves about if the one pointed to, that is Mike, is a player or an NPC.

Most of them thought it would be the later, and assumed it was some kind of in-game event.

And Mike was obvious about it too as he didn't consider making a mere handpump as an achievement or anything.

But the same couldn't be said for the system.

Ding!

Because soon after the inauguration he was swarmed by the notifications.
