Chapter 09 - Noob to the Bones!

All the work related to the hand pump was completed and all that was left was the inauguration ceremony from when It would be officially in use, and it seemed like his quest would also be completed when the announcement is made.

Every player was only allowed to play 15 hours a day in real-time considering that players wouldn't play the game excessively ignoring real life.

There was still a lot of time before his log-out period would end.

Mike had only played for 8 hours in real life which was equivalent to a day in-game, which meant that he still had another 7 hours till he would be forcefully logged out.

"Well then, Shall we go hunting in meantime"

He was oddly excited as it was his first time playing a game in a VR, the last time he remembered playing a game was on PC, so everything felt new and interesting.

Mike was imagining just how it would feel to fight in VR. Of course, he had tried various technologies when he was a great figure but nothing he had seen was anywhere close to Genesis.

He remembered that the notification said that they had to receive a weapon from the training grounds so he was currently on his way there.

It wasn't that far as the Village itself was a small place, Just walking two hundred meters straight from the workshop and 300 meters to the right was the training ground.

The training ground was bustling with players, unlike the Workshop since everyone whether a lifestyle player or a combat-based one, would visit there at least once to receive the weapons.

It had giant gates, and dummies made of hay and covered with a cloth.

Many players were hitting the dummies with various weapons like Sword, spears, bows, etc

Kaiser looked at them for a movement but left shortly as it was too boring, he went towards a man who was standing crossing his hands near the dummies and yelling at the players.

"Hello, I am Mike, Can I receive a weapon"

The man eyed Kaiser, his eyes contained disdain as he scoffed at him but anyway asked him what he want.

"Which one do you want?"

Mike also got frustrated seeing someone scoffing at him without a reason but he held it in as he didn’t want to quarell with an NPC.

"Hmm.....A sword would suffice"

"here"

The man just threw a sword at him and turned around not even giving him a second glance.

Ding!

<You have received basic training Sword>

Mike caught the sword.

The sword handle was made of wood connected by a black iron blade.

The condition was poor which was visible to the eyes as the edges were so dull that they couldn't even cut a dead man's nose.

______________

<Basic Training Sword>

A sword that was used by the soldiers which then donated to the training grounds to help the 'Outsiders'.

effect : attack +1

_____________

Anyway, Mike put it inside his inventory and went away.

He neither had any reason nor any thought of talking to the rude NPC more than needed.

On the outskirts of the Village.

Mike looked at the monsters that were being massacred mercilessly by the players.

They were mostly cute animals like rabbits and a weak chicken which were level two and one respectively.

Mike looked at the players who were easily killing those cute animals.

"Tsk! tsk! Killing weaklings is not my style"

Mike who was once a great figure was arrogant to his bones, no matter what his situation now was, his arrogance was the same.

The pride of the strong didn't allow him to look at those weak animals, he crossed the zone where the chicken and rabbits were, reaching the lv.5 wild fox zone.

There were red foxes with a white fur line along their back, they were wandering around through the field.

"Now, It has to be at least that strong!"

Mike said as he smilingly looked at the fox that was roaming in his field of vision and took out his sword.

He ran towards the fox and jumped on it slashing his sword.

The fool still didn't know that the level difference between him who was lv.2 and the fox which was lv.5 was too great.

What's more the idiot even forgot to distribute his free stat points in the status.

and the result...

Slash!

The fox slashed its sharp claws at him who was completely unguarded.

plop.

And that was enough to send him back to beginning point!

<You have died>

The notification greeted the Mike who was hovering in the form of a transparent ghost.

<You have lost a part of your experiance>

<Your level is reduced by one>

<Your level has decreased to lv. 1>

<The resurrection point has not been set! You will be teleported to the nearest temple>

The notification faded as he disappeared from there.

....

Mike appeared at the Sun Temple of the Village with a complete bewildered expression on his face.

<You have died>

<The first death of the day penalty will take effect>

<You will be under 50% reduction of speed for two hours inside the game>

<Caution: you will be logged out of the game and will not be able to log in for 24 hours if you die a second time in a day>

He who thought himself as strong was beaten one-sidedly; what’s more, he died in a single hit!

He thought the game would be like when he played on PC and would do all the work if he just did initiate the attack.

but he was seriously mistaken.!

In Genesis, You have to do everything on your own, be it battle Or anything else. The stats were not the only thing that mattered!

The skill of the player in how he utilizes those stats was more important.

"Fu*k, that's why I hate fighting!"

Mike who now lost his motivation to hunt went towards the workshop and shut himself in.

He was truly a noob to the bone!
