Chapter 08 - Implementation!

Mike got busy with the work as soon as he entered the workshop!

He entrusted the making of iron pipe to the Oldman, even though he seemed like a carpenter from the outside, he felt like he should be able to handle that.

He just told him about the requirements of the pipe, to be about 4 inches wide and 10 meters long.

"That's quite a big one but I guess we need that much since its a well we are talking about"

The oldman got to work with a complaint and he even seemed to be oddly in good mood may because he was thinking about money.

Mike also didn't waste any time and started to make the remaining parts.

The first thing he started was Check-Valve.

It was the main component in the pump that ensured that the drawn water doesn't get back to the well again.

He first took a big round iron disk that would fit inside the Iron pipe perfectly and drew a circle on it.

He cut the iron along the circle and made the same with a rubber disk just that the radius of the rubber was rather larger and it was placed on the upper side of the iron disk so that the water can only enter from the inside and should get stored inside the pipe and couldn't go back. the rubber's job was to block the water from getting out of the pipe to the well again.

He made another pair of the Iron disk and rubber just that he placed the rubber downside the pipe this time and both of them are attacked by a long thing rod that would hold them both together at a distance inside the pump.

The next thing he started to make was the drive which will be connected by the handle and the chain piston rod that would connect both the handle and the upper disk which had the check-valve.

The Iron pipe was also soon made since it didn't take anything complicated to make.

Then Mike and the Oldman decide to make the head of the well and water outlet and got into work...

***

It has been a day inside the game since Mike started gaming but…..it can’t be called as gaming at all as he was working with the oldman to make the Handpump all this time.

But Mike was happy with what he did, everyone has their own way of playing the game, some play to get high ranking and fame while some other play just fun so it wasn’t weird that Michael spent a whole day making some machines.

Both of them were currently standing in front of a well.

And three men were also with them to help them with the manual work and soon the implementation of the Mechanical hand pump began.

First, they fitted the Iron pipe to One side of the Well firmly so that It could withstand the pressure of pumping and the weight of the water that would be drawn.

And it was fitted in such a manner that it would be at least two feet below the average water level of the well throughout the year.

and the next was the check-valves which were placed inside the Iron rod so that they could move freely inside it.

And it was connected to the piston rod in the form of a chain and then to the drive that is fitted to the handle.

All of the components were painted so that they could prevent the rusting since they would be in continuous contact with air and water.

The outlet and the Head were fitted following that and then a suitable floor for the citizen to stand on was built by the construction workers who were contacted by the old man.

"The inauguration will take place tomorrow, make sure everyone is present ther"

The oldman was too excited as a child who was anticipating a gift and was spreading the information about the pump to the whole village.

mostly because of the money he would be getting!!

Mike, who saw the whole thing being built as he wanted, stood at a distance smiling.

It was oddly satisfying,  even though it wasn't anything special, and even when he knew that it is not real but just virtual data, he was happy that he was the one who made it, it was an odd emotion that was had to describe, maybe self-satisfaction would seem a bit appropriate!

Anyway, Mike was waiting for tomorrow to arrive since his first built 'machine' in the game was going to be officially in use from tomorrow.

"I feel proud of myself"

He was also shamelessly praising himself standing in front of the well.

***

(Back in real world)

A young boy who seemed to be around the age of 15-16 sat in front of a computer.

He had dirty blond hair with green eyes and a petite body that seemed too weak to do any kind of manual work.

There were two laptops present on either side of the computer with numerous wires hanging around them.

His name was Nicholas, Nicholas Maran.

The room he was in was a shabby one and the paint on the wall seemed as if it would come off at the slightest impact.

But even in that kind of atmosphere, the boy had an incredible concentration as he was typing something at a speed that made it hard to even see his fingers.

He took a bite of the half-eaten sandwich which was placed on the table.

"Sigh..! It sure is hard to make money online!"

He was actually working online while borrowing the laptops of his elder siblings.

Originally he was not supposed to be able to work since he was still fifteen but he used his head by giving the resume of his useless brother and sister.

and created two fake profiles and another one with his most stupid older brother, of course he did all that secretly.

He was currently working three online jobs at once.

It was all due to a certain thing he wanted to buy.

He looked towards the poster on the wall of his room which was pasted right beside his bed.

It represented a capsule with the words 'genesis' on It.

"Soon.....I will have enough money to buy it"

He smiled as he got back to work again continuing his typing with lightning speed.
