Adventurer's Guild

One important thing to do, as soon as Kieran arrived in Deborah City, was to gather information. After all, to continue living here, Kieran and Mio needed money. Over time, Hansen's money will run out, so they both had to find another source of income. Luckily, the city hall had all the general information about the city. It was making it easier for Kieran to know the place to get a job.

Adventurer's guild. The so-called adventurer's guild was a place where special requests from various people in this city were collected. These people gave down payment to the guild, and told the detail about mission that must be completed. After the mission was completed, the mission sender will give full payment. The adventurer's guild will deduct about 5% of the total mission reward and then give the rest to the person who completed the mission.

Unfortunately, night fell quickly, so Kieran had to find a hotel to sleep in. To save money, Kieran only booked one room. Mio, who was used to sleeping with him, didn't protest. Of course, nothing was happened, Kieran never thought to take any action against Mio.

The next day, the morning light woke Kieran and Mio. They showered in the bathroom, ate the breakfast, then headed to the adventurer's guild. By the way, Kieran could feel the charm of this 'modern city'. Various conveniences and innovations really made human life easier and more comfortable.

"Ah, we've come." Kieran looked at the two-story building that had a wide courtyard and wide building. There were also many people passing by at the gate. “Hey, don't just point on people! The people here are strong, they have sharp perceptions.” Kieran scolded Mio, luckily the rabbit woman was friendly. Otherwise they might get in trouble. Kieran, who had just come to the city, didn't want to face the problems.

Kieran sighed, he then invited Mio to enter the adventurer's guild. The interior of the room looked simple, but displayed a sense of elegance. The room was spacious with many guild administrators serving. It made Kieran wonder, was this really an adventurer's guild? As he remembered, the adventurer's guild in Avania was very chaotic, there were plenty of delinquents causing trouble all the time.

He approached the guild administrator who took care of the registration of the novice adventurers.

“Excuse me, we both want to register as adventurers,” Kieran said politely.

The guild employer, who was a beautiful woman, nodded while smiling at both of them. She replied, “Please hand over your ID along with the registration fee.”

"Okay."

Kieran and Mio handed over their ID cards as well as the registration fee money, which was enough for the two of them. The guild employer left for a while, then after half of a minute, she came back again. She gave back Kieran and Mio's ID cards, then handed them both the adventurer's guild member cards. There's a big letter E there.

"This?"

"That's your membership level for a while, as long as you complete the mission well, the level will rise over time," the guild employer explained.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome, oh by the way, you can see the missions you can take on the monitor we have provided there."

Kieran saw dozens of wide monitors lined up. There were many people who take turns using the monitor. Kieran brought Mio closer to one of the monitors. After waiting for a while, Kieran quickly went to the front of the monitor.

“Put a card here? Oh, Kieran, you can enter your membership card here, let's enter quickly!” Mio pointed towards the wide hole reserved for the membership card.

Kieran nodded slowly, he then inserted his membership card, then inserted Mio's card a few seconds later. The monitor displayed welcome words, and gave Kieran several choices. Kieran immediately pressed the screen that, showing the mission list.

The list of missions displayed was a list of missions that Kieran and Mio could take. Since they still had level E membership, most of what was displayed were low-level missions. Even so, these low-level missions still had risks, after all, most of the people who sent missions definitely needed the power of a Mage.

“Help with carrying things when hunting monsters? Ah, let's just take this one, it looks easier, we don't have to do anything besides carry things, right?” said Mio innocently.

Kieran shook his head and lightly tapped Mio's head.

“The reason they sent this request is that it's likely that ordinary people will only burden them when fighting monsters, moreover there will always be a chance for those monsters to attack the carrier. This mission is too dangerous, if the monster is too strong, it could harm us.”

Kieran was aware, even though he had become a Mage, but his strength was still very low, to face ordinary humans he might be brave, but facing monsters or other Mage, then he must be careful. Still fresh in his mind how Zed almost killed himself. For a while, Kieran intended to live a safe life.

"I think this one fits better." Kieran pressed one of the missions displayed on the screen, after which the monitor showed that the mission was being carried out by Kieran and Mio. This meant that other adventurer guild members could not take on the mission.

The details of the mission were simple, which was to help someone keep their house safe every night for 3 days in a row. The fee was around 5,000 DBR, in Deborah's currency. Mio didn't protest about the mission, according to her as long as the mission could be completed easily, it didn't matter which mission was taken.

After taking that mission, Kieran left the adventurer's guild. In addition to the mission details, there were also addresses, mission senders, and other things that the monitor had displayed earlier. Kieran and Mio went to their destination by taxi. A taxi was a kind of strange vehicle called a car that serves as transportation.

"How does this thing work?" Seeing the magic of the car, Mio moved her body to and fro, trying to see the secret behind the car,

"I don't know, maybe underneath there is a strange animal that spins all four wheels?" to be honest, Kieran was also curious. He had been educated in Avania, but he still didn't understand many things in this city.
