"No, this can't happen."
"This cannot happen."
Nagid heard his mother-in-law, Cecilia, shouting from the hall. He got up and took a shower, then went to his wardrobe and looked at the limited number of clothes he owned. He couldn't help but smile and wonder why he had never realized that he didn't even possess more than ten outfits. It was clear that this was not the life of a wealthy son-in-law. He chose the best clothes he had and went out to join the family.
In the hall, the whole family was present, with a woman crying uncontrollably. It was Cecilia, Emma's mother. Tony, Emma's father, and her twin brother, Kendrick, had worry written all over their faces.
"This cannot happen. We have to do something," Cecilia cried uncontrollably.
"Don't worry, I will think of something," said Tony, trying to console his crying wife.
"This is all your fault. How could you be so careless?" Tony roared at Kendrick. He couldn't comprehend his son's behavior; he only seemed to cause trouble.
"So you don't even consider your mother's health. You will have to figure out something yourself," Tony said sternly.
"Father, you can't do this to me. Please help me," Kendrick begged.
"You want my son to suffer? This was that woman's fault. If she hadn't died, I would have killed her myself," Cecilia expressed her anger.
"I will think of something, and don't worry about that girl. She is dead now," Tony assured them.
"Father, think of something. I can't bear to see Mother like this," said Emma sadly.
"I will," replied Tony.
"Emma, where is Nagid?" Cecilia asked urgently.
"Yes, yes, get Nagid. He will think of something," Cecilia said, as if she had found her savior.
"I will go and get him," said Emma.
As Emma rose to go and find Nagid, she saw him coming down to the hall.
"Honey, you're here," she said with a beautiful and radiant face, admiring his features—his well-curved nose and mouth, and his youthful appearance.
Nagid couldn't help but think that behind that innocent and beautiful face was a wicked and heartless person with no compassion for mankind.
"Nagid!" Cecilia shouted as if she had found her lifeline. "You have to help your brother-in-law. You always come up with something. I don't want him to go to jail. Do something!" Cecilia wailed uncontrollably.
"Mother, what happened? Tell me," Nagid said, playing the role of the considerate son-in-law he was.
"I will help. You know I will. Just tell me what happened, okay?" Nagid spoke, pretending as if he was hearing the news for the first time.
"Nagid, take your time. That's why we need your help in this," Tony said.
"Honey, keep calm," said Emma, with feigned affection.
Nagid knew he would make this family of wolves pay, but for now, he had to continue acting like the loving son-in-law. He needed answers to his questions.
"Kendrick killed someone," said Tony.
"What?!" Nagid exclaimed, pretending to be surprised, even though he already knew this was the reason behind the turmoil.
"Where... Who... How..." Nagid asked, pretending to seek further details.
"Nagid, take your time. That's why we need your help in this," Tony repeated.
"Honey, keep calm," Emma reassured him, playing her part.
Nagid trembled inwardly as he wondered how long she would have to continue pretending to achieve her goal. People like her were the most dangerous, never revealing their true intentions but constantly plotting one's downfall. And they executed their plans in the cruelest ways.
"Ken, I think you'll have to explain it to him yourself," said Tony with a serious expression.
Kendrick sighed and began his explanation.
"I went to the club with my friends to have some fun. While we were there, I noticed a beautiful girl with her friends who were also enjoying themselves. I approached her and we started talking. After convincing her, she agreed to be my girlfriend for the night. I took her to a hotel next to the club to have some fun. However, once we got inside, she started rejecting my advances. She wanted to take things slow, but I wanted things my way that night. Due to the alcohol I consumed, it clouded my judgment, and I ended up slapping her. I never expected that she would hit her head on the bedside table and collapse, with blood all over the floor. I tried to wake her up, but she didn't respond... and she died."
"I never meant to do that. It was an accident," Kendrick sobbed, his head buried in his hands.
"Oh dear, honey, you need to do something," Emma said with concern, tears welling up in her eyes.
In the past, Nagid would have been moved to help right away, but things had changed now. He knew just how wicked these people were. However, there was one thing he had always wanted to know: if this incident was part of their setup.
"Nagid, I trust you on this. Do something, anything," pleaded Tony.
Nagid looked at him, anger burning in his eyes, but he quickly masked it with a concerned look. Now was not the time to attack. He had to keep his enemies close.
"This is a complicated issue," he said, as if considering a very difficult decision.
"Were there any witnesses around that night?" Nagid asked.
"No, all my friends were still at the bar. It was just the two of us," Kendrick replied.
"Then... then, Nagid, you know Kendrick is still in school, and he can't be labeled a murderer. It would ruin him. So, I was thinking, why don't you take the blame? We'll think of something to help you get out of jail," suggested Tony.
"Mother!" shouted Emma.
"Cecilia, how can you even think of such a thing? He's part of our family," said Tony, as if he had heard something terrible.
"Mother, Nagid is my husband. Do you want him to be falsely accused of murder? What would happen to me? This can't happen," Emma cried, her voice filled with grief.
If someone were to judge her current attitude, they would undoubtedly fall for their act and take the blame for this crime. It was the same thing that had happened to Nagid, leading to his imprisonment for almost 20 years for a crime he knew nothing about.
"Emma, don't cry. I'll think of something, okay?" Nagid said, wiping the tears from her face.
Since they knew how to play their game, he would play along with them. They weren't the only ones capable of pretending.
"Since you know how to play, I'll play with all of you. Let's see who will win," he said inwardly.
"Father, I promise I'll think of a way," Nagid assured them.
Emma was surprised. This wasn't how it was supposed to be. Nagid was supposed to agree to their way of resolving the
He always fulfilled her wishes whenever she cried. What happened to her charm?
"Father, I have to ensure no one was around when they entered the hotel, and no one saw them when they took the elevator and entered their room," Nagid explained.
"All these details need to be checked before we take further measures," he added.
"You're right," Tony agreed after contemplating the situation. "There might be something we're missing."
"What if he takes the blame, and then someone comes forward later claiming to have evidence showing that Ken was the one responsible?" Tony pondered.
"Nagid, I knew I could count on you," he said gratefully. "Your warning was helpful."
"Honey, I knew I could count on you for anything," Emma said lovingly.
This sent goosebumps down Nagid's spine. He couldn't help but wonder how far this woman would go to achieve her goals.
"What about my son?" Cecilia cried out, unable to comprehend these people. They had initially agreed to make Nagid take the blame and go to jail, but now they seemed to be changing their plans. What would happen to Kendrick then? "Is he going to jail?"
"No, Mother," Nagid reassured her, holding her hands. "We will have to thoroughly investigate this matter. But for now, Kendrick has to be sent away to prevent anyone from making a move against us, especially my rival," Tony stated firmly. "He would try to use this to bring me down, and that won't happen. Kendrick, you are leaving for abroad this evening."
"But, Dad," Kendrick began anxiously.
"No 'buts.' This is my decision, and it's final," Tony said, sounding disappointed. He had always wanted a son as sharp as Nagid, but unfortunately, Kendrick was merely a chess piece for their benefit. Otherwise, he would have been proud to have someone like Nagid instead of this troublemaker.
"Well done, my son. You did well once again," Tony commended Nagid, tapping him on the shoulder.
"Anything for the family," Nagid replied, playing the considerate son-in-law role.
"Mother, you don't have to worry. With Dad and Nagid handling this matter, everything will go according to plan," Emma assured the tearful woman.
"Nagid, help your brother make plans to leave tonight, as early as possible," Tony instructed.
"Yes, Dad," Nagid replied and left to fulfill his given task.
"This is just the beginning of your unending troubles. I will make you pay for everything and take back what belongs to me. And I'm going to start with your troublesome and useless son. All of this is just the tip of the iceberg. The real troubles have just begun. They should be prepared for the bigger ones. This family will regret and pay for everything they did to me," Nagid thought to himself as he entered his room to begin the assigned task.
"Emma, take your mother back to her room," Tony directed.
"Okay, Father," Emma complied.
"And before we find the other witness, you should be on your best behavior around him, okay?" Tony advised.
"Yes, Father. He's just a family-raised dog, and his hard work will pay off. My son won't go to jail, he shouldn't," Emma declared.
"Send that orphan," Cecilia said with intense hatred.
"Don't worry, Mother. Everything will go according to plan," Emma stated firmly.
Little did they know that someone had overheard everything firsthand.
Kendrick was sent abroad that night. Nagid worked efficiently that night, and his father-in-law praised him endlessly. Cesa Company is one of the most influential companies in the country, thanks to Nagid, the company's managing director. His ideas and cleverness have played a significant role in its success. However, it's hard to believe that the brains behind the company are actually the managing director, not the CEO. Nagid stood in front of the company, contemplating how he had dedicated most of his life to bringing the company to its current position. He entered the building, as he always did, opting to take the stairs instead of the private elevator reserved for the Sam's family, to which he, as the son-in-law, was not allowed access. When asked why he couldn't use the private elevator, the excuse given was, "Father, I am fully part of the family now. Why can't I take the private elevator?" His father-in-law replied, "Son, you are meant to be a future leader. As a leader, you
The next morning, as Emma descended the stairs from her room, she couldn't help but think about the events of the previous night. She noticed a change in Nagid's behavior. He had always wanted to share a bed with her, but yesterday he had turned her down, something he never did before. It seemed like he was avoiding her. Had her charm lost its effect? That couldn't be possible because Nagid had always been drawn to her.Lost in her thoughts, Emma failed to notice a banana peel on the floor in front of her. Just as she was about to step on it, something pushed her out of harm's way. Grateful for being saved from a fall, she was shocked by what she saw. She let out a scream, shouting for help and trying to get away from the figure. The servants in the house rushed outside, alarmed by their young mistress's distress. However, they too froze in fear upon seeing the creature. Cecilia, Emma's mother, came out to investigate the commotion and berated the servants, questioning their ability to
"Nagid was at a loss for words, unsure how to explain himself. "Nagid," Cecilia began accusingly, "Did you plan this? You orchestrated everything, didn't you?" Shocked, Nagid did not responded as she continued , "If you had told me that your wife wasn't giving you attention, I would have done something about it." Cecilia blamed him for something he hadn't even done, and Nagid couldn't comprehend it. "So you think I planned this? And why would I do that? You think I would harm my own wife, the person I cherish above everything else?" "You might want more attention, for her to care about you more," Cecilia suggested, clearly seeing things differently. Nagid felt hurt by her words and responded, "So that's how you see things. Mother, I thought I meant family to you, but it seems I am still considered an outsider. You raised me, and you know me very well." Desperately seeking an explanation, Nagid asked, "Then how do you explain how you knew about what happened before we went there?"
Anna got out of a cab and entered an apartment building, feeling exhausted after a stressful day. She had dealt with a difficult old man, saved a man's life, and even received scolding from a friend. As she took the elevator to the second floor, she mustered the energy to ring the doorbell of Room 32. A voice from inside asked, "Who is it?" "Just a minute," the voice replied. Anna wondered why this person always took so long to do anything. The door finally opened, and the person inside let out a high-pitched squeal, causing Anna to cover her ears. "Anna, you're here!" the person, named Bella, exclaimed. "Bella, can you just shut up?" Anna responded in frustration. Bella tightly wrapped her arms around Anna, exclaiming how much she missed her. Anna complained that she couldn't breathe, and Bella apologized. Anna then asked if she could come inside or if her new room was at the entrance. "Of course not," Bella replied. "Then why are you still standing here?" "Come in, come in,"
"Emma, I want a divorce," Nagid repeated in her mind. Alarm bells rang in her head as she realized the gravity of the situation. She knew Nagid well enough to understand that when he made a decision, he rarely wavered. Feeling a sense of urgency, Emma realized she had gone too far. Nagid was still valuable to her and their family. How could she let him go when he was still useful? "No!" she shouted, desperately trying to change his mind. "Nagid, please don't do this. I'll change, I'll do whatever you want. Please," she pleaded, fear lacing her voice. Nagid's voice was filled with a mix of sadness and determination. "Emma, I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry, but I can't be with someone who doesn't see my worth. I see it all, and I don't want to be an obstacle in your way anymore. Let's just get a divorce, so you can be happy," he said, as if making an agonizing decision. Emma felt a surge of panic. She realized that without Nagid's guidance, the company would suffer, and her father w
"Family?" Kendrick was puzzled. He had no knowledge of Nagid's family. He had always believed Nagid to be an orphan, as he had been told since... "What family are you talking about?" Kendrick asked, confused. "You know your life is in my hands now," Nagid warned. "And I won't tolerate any lies here." "I promise you, I don't know anything about any family," Kendrick pleaded. Nagid began to feel confused. Had he miscalculated? Why did Kendrick have no idea about his identity and family? Could it be that, in this lifetime, they were unaware of his family? Wait, Tony would definitely know. That old fox. He remembered Emma telling him that Tony was the one who informed her about his family and identity. It meant that Tony was the only one in the family who knew about his identity. If Nagid wanted to know everything, he would have to start with Tony. "You don't need to answer if you don't want to," Nagid declared. "Nagid, for the sake of the love you have for my sister, please let me g
At the Central mall, two ladies were arguing over a dress. "I really like the red one," Anna said. "It makes you look more feminine and dominant." "I don't like this," Bella complained. "I prefer the black one." "Why are you so stubborn?" Anna questioned. "You never wear anything apart from black, and it's becoming like a signature look." "A signature look?" Bella pondered. "I like the sound of that." "Anna, I'm being serious," Anna emphasized. "I know," Anna replied. "I'm sorry." "Okay, to make you stop complaining any further," Bella offered. "I will only accept anything you pick for me." "Are you sure?" Anna confirmed. "Anything," Bella affirmed. "Yes, anything. I promise you'll love it," Anna assured. "Ah, I'm beginning to regret it already," Anna sighed with rolled eyes. Anna waited for some time, but Bella didn't return. She started to wonder if her excitement had caused her to forget Anna's dress choice. Anna wondered how someone could get so engrossed in choosing ju
The naive girl looked at the speaker who made the statement and was shocked. She knew a threat when she saw one. This person was no ordinary person. Her appearance was more captivating than anything she had ever seen. Her lips and eyes spoke volumes on their own. She possessed a rare beauty, one that could bring down a country. Although she had always been known for her beauty, she paled in comparison to this woman. The jealous and pretentious lady was none other than Emma herself. She knew Bella was the one who took the dress first, but she simply wanted the dress for herself, using other people. And she almost succeeded until Anna showed up. "As I said, her apology is accepted," Anna declared firmly. "There is no need for her to continue begging as if she had been bullied." The gathered crowd gasped when they saw Anna. This was a rare beauty, the kind they usually only saw in movies. But this lady's beauty was even more extraordinary. It was pure and commanding, something that capt
