CHAPTER 171

Donald let go of Selena and walked towards Deputy Behrens. Selena dropped to her butt and held her neck as she gasped for breath. Donald’s group had been metallic. If Behrens hadn’t called him, he would have strangled her to death.

Donald wondered what would be so important that Behrens would call him. He was about to squeeze the truth from Selena. There had to be an explanation for why his great-grandfather would hand over all their properties to the Rhoades. And of all people, a woman.

“What is it?” Donald asked as he stood before Behrens.

In Behrens’s hands was a piece of paper. Donald gazed at it in confusion.

“You should see this,” Behrens said, handing over the paper to Donald.

Donald, still confused, got the paper from him with his eyes glaring at him. He gazed at him for a few moments before bringing his eyes down to the paper. It was handwriting. It looked like a letter. It read;
