“Yes, Amiri. I’ll be home soon,” Lucien said with a soft chuckle.

“You know Roman always gets grumpy when you’re not home,” Amiri said from the other end of the line.

This made Lucien chuckle harder.

“He’s only two years old, Amiri. I’m not sure he knows what being grumpy implies.”

“Just get your ass home.”

Lucien scoffed.

“I’m on my way,” he said and ended the call.

Lucien dropped the phone on the desk and sighed as he leaned back on his desk. How was he going to get back home in time? He wasn’t done with the work he was doing, and it was getting late. It was about 7:45 pm, and he was still stuck in the office. He never stayed that long.
