A new shareholder?Lincoln Troyes was surprised to hear this. He sat across the table in the conference room all dressed in a suit with David on his side with the same attire. He had the same expression. Timothy hadn’t told him that they were having a new shareholder on board. Lincoln was trying to keep track of all shareholders that had come in but couldn’t count. He didn’t even understand who was running the company anymore. Him or David? Timothy stepped into the room and David’s eyes glued on him. When Timothy saw him, he smiled. David immediately rose from his chair and walked towards him. Timothy was surprised to see an angry David storming towards him. He grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him out of the room. When they got outside, Timothy struggled to get himself free. David eventually let him go. “What is your problem?” Timothy asked, straightening the gray suit that he wore. “What are you doing, uncle?” He asked. Timothy sighed and rolled his eyes. He hadn’t filled
Roman Lacroix walked on the treadmill slowly. He winced in pain as he pushed himself and his spine to do more. It was becoming his daily routine to walk on the treadmill. At some point, he had begun running on it but that had come with a price. He hadn’t been able to walk for a few hours after that. His spine had acted badly, and since then, he hadn’t tried it again. It had been a month and two weeks since the incident that almost destroyed his life. Now here he was back on the treadmill trying to get her back to his best. A lot was waiting for him when he got back. He hadn’t left the house in a month and a half. He was certain that everybody was questioning his whereabouts. Roman had been lucky to have survived what had happened to him that night. And because he was alive, he pushed himself to do better. He never wanted to end up in that situation ever again. He was going to make sure that he got stronger. After the daily treadmill exercise, he usually threw hands with Lydia as he t
Roman Lacroix winced as he stepped out of the black Mustang GT in the parking lot. He straightened the lavender suit that he wore and walked towards the red carpet. He could feel his spine aching as he made his way through the flashes of camera lights at him. Everybody cheered as they watched him walk into the hall. They had missed him. Roman couldn’t remember the last time he had been out like this. Being stuck in the house for a month was traumatizing. The last time he went to a party like this, he ended up being paralyzed. So he was a little paranoid as he looked around the party. Roman had learned his lesson. Never answer strange calls at a party. He picked up a glass of champagne from one of the moving trays and took a sip. His hand trembled as he held his glass. When Roman saw this, he sighed. It meant that he couldn’t stay long which disappointed him. It was better than having to stay back at home where all he did was push himself. He was here alone tonight even after Lydia ha
Florence Weah had been watching Roman for over a long period now. His appearance had caught her attention ever since he walked into the event. This was the man her father had been talking about. He was their worst enemy, or at least that was what her father had told her. Staring at him now, he looked nothing like that. He was dressed in a lavender suit with a white undershirt. His jet-black hair glittered under the lights and his silver eyes bore into her soul as she stared at him. He was dead gorgeous. Roman was still in disbelief as he stared at Florence. It was surprising that he hadn’t heard of her before. Her deep blue eyes were one of the best he had seen. They were amazing, and for a few seconds, it seemed the world had stopped around them. They were only both in the room and were spinning slowly as their eyes locked for what seemed to be an eternity. Roman blinked hard, breaking from eye contact. Florence’s cheeks heated up and she looked down at her feet trying to stay away
Viper Don was standing by the window in the dimly lit room as he stroked his chin. The room was lit by the full moon whose glorious light bathed the room. Viper Don was waiting for his daughter, Florence to get home. He had just received a call from Timothy telling him that he saw Roman Lacroix at the party. That was supposed to be untrue. He had heard from his trusted source that Roman was paralyzed. How could he have gotten better in a short while? Something was off and he didn’t like it one bit. The fact that Roman had escaped from his traps angered him. He was right where he wanted him, and he would have led him to where the artifacts were. Now he was gone, and he had no idea of where Roman or Selena was. If there was one thing he was certain of, it was that Roman wouldn’t stop coming after him and he was prepared for that. Florence had come home at the right time. With her present, he could fulfill his own without even showing his face. All he had rondo was to watch from the sha
Roman ran on the treadmill as he clenched his jaws. He was finally doing it. He was back on his feet and was doing better. He looked at the speed at which he was going and was impressed by this. His spine ached a little bit. It was bearable. He breathed in heavily as he tried to push himself further. He could do better than this. Roman reached for the dashboard and increased the speed on the treadmill. That turned out to be a bad idea. Roman could feel his knees starting to give in as he ran on the k treadmill. His spine began aching more and more and he could barely feel his legs. Roman tried his best to keep on going. He gritted his teeth and pushed himself further. He was challenging himself, feeling he could do it. He had surpassed his limit from yesterday by a stretch and felt he could keep going. He believed it. The door of the gymnasium swung open and Lydia stepped in dressed in her usual gym clothes. She had a bottle of protein shake in her hand as she came in. It was time f
Ben rolled out the drawers and reached into it bringing out some files. He was dressed in all black and his right hand was a torch. Its powerful beam illuminated the file that was on the desk now. Ben swung open the file and looked through it. The document in the file was a certificate of ownership and Ben had no interest in it. It wasn’t what he was looking for. He closed the file and pulled the next one which was underneath it. Ben was in a company building that belonged to Floyd Helix. He was looking for clues in the accident of Lacroix’s parents. He was aware of the involvement of Floyd, and all he needed was concrete proof. This was what he did in his spare time and when he wasn’t on a mission with Roman. Now Roman was trying his best to recover from the ailment he suffered, Ben had all the time in the world to look for the evidence, but so far he found nothing. He looked up at the door which was closed in fear that he had heard something. It was just his imagination. Ben shrugg
Roman Lacroix gritted his teeth as he held the ladder rung. He could feel his arms vibrating and his back aching. He was exhausted but he had to keep going. His black tank top was drenched in sweat and so was his face. He pulled his body forward and held the next rung hoping to push himself, but the energy just wasn’t there. Roman sighed and held onto it, trying to breathe slowly. He had chosen to do this to feel better. He had been working for days now, and pushing himself. Being here without Lydia or Ben was weird because they were always interrupting him every single time at the gymnasium. It was nice to be on his own for once and in a room filled with crowded people he didn’t know. Roman gritted his teeth and pushed himself up once more. His body responded, but his arms were on fire. He could feel them ache with each climb he made. Rock climbing at the gym had come into his mind last night. Having only thought of it recently, he couldn’t get it to his gymnasium so he had offered
