Chapter 8

Lucifer and Maze stood on the back street looking at the lifeless body of the soldier.

Lucifer spoke up, “just burn him.”

“Yes My lord.” Maze said and he was about to say something but he stopped hearing a sigh..of a woman.

He turned around to look at Lily covering her face with her hands trying to control her from continuous sobbing.

“You..you truly are an evil..how can you do this?” She managed to speak up while Lucifer turned and got shocked.

He felt bad for Lily that she had witnessed all this, he knew it would have been like a punishment for her.

This soft hearted girl had just witnessed a brutal murder and that also by someone with whom she was enjoying a few moments ago.

“It’s not like what you think it is..” lucifer said although he knew it was the most stupid line for such situation.

“Really? Isn’t it a murder? Haven’t you and this friend of yours killed this pitiful man? Even after he was lying defenceless in your feet.” Lily shouted at the top of her voice even she had no idea from where this much strength was coming to her.

She although have witnessed everything but only few fragments had stayed with her..that’s due to shock..like she remembered that he held lucifer’s feet but she didn’t heard that he was actually begging him for his death.

Lucifer sighed and said, “he wasn’t someone you should feel pity for…he is a criminal..he was at fault..trust me he’s not innocent.”

“But who the hell are you to judge? There are police men and judges and courts to provide judgments.. and when a civilian tried to be a judge ….then…Mr. Lucifer, he’s a criminal too.” Lily shouted in anger.

“You have no idea what all’s going here so just stay out of it..ok?” Lucifer said while Maze choose to stay quite.

“You look like a professional criminal..see you have no guilt on your face at all…i will tell everything to police..you are having blood of a defenceless on your hands…” she murmured but the last line triggered a past memory of lucifer.

“HE IS NOT INNOCENT..CANT YOU UNDERSTAND.” He shouted and for a single second his eyes turned red. Lily saw the change and got another shock of the night…

“Your eyes..they just turned..turned red.” She stammered while speaking pointing out to his eyes with finger and hands shaking in fear.

“Turned red? Are hallucinating or something?” Lucifer acted like nothing happened and this line of his gave him a brilliant idea..he gave a nod while looking towards Maze who understood that he was supposed to hide the body.

He then looked in her fearful eyes, grabbed her wrist and put his thumb on the middle of her eyebrows and within few seconds she fell on ground.

While he did so, Maze lifted the body on his shoulder and like a flash went away.

Lucifer then knelt down on floor and tapped on Lily’s shoulder shouting, “ Lily? You ok girl? Wake up!”

Lily woke up with a jerk and in panic looked around and shouted, “murder!..i saw a murder..someone murdered someone here…right in front of me.”

Lucifer was disturbed knowing the fact that she still remembered few things although she was supposed to forget each and every detail..but still he was still fine with it till she didn’t knew who murdered whom.

“What are you saying? What murder? You came here running like anything..thank god I followed you..you fainted the moment you reached here.” Lucifer said while making an eye contact.

Lily was in shock, she stood up and looked here and there but there was no sign of body or blood or anything like that.

She rubbed her face and stood with her hands on her head..her heart was beating fast and her head aching like anything.

Lucifer came towards her and put his hand on her shoulder and said, “I think you are just overthinking and taking your hallucination way more seriously.. then required…may be alcohol effects.”

“That can’t be happening..it’s not first time i had alcohol..plus it all felt so real.. oh god.” She said taking deep breaths to calm herself down and she closed her eyes to recall but everything was blur.

“May be you are right i was just hallucinating..lucifer I’m going back home.” She said in low voice.

“Would you like me to drop?” Lucifer asked.

“No not at all..thanx..my driver’s here.” She replied and went back in the club while lucifer looked on.

After she was gone lucifer met Maze in his mansion where maze asked, “Everything went smoothly right?”

“Yeah smooth enough..but what triggered me was that I used my powers on her but at the end she still remembered few things.” Lucifer spoke in disbelief while throwing himself on couch. And maze got seated as well.

“May be that sight had affected her so much that her mind is not willing to loose everything from that memory.” Maze said.

“Can a human be this strong from mind?…that’s something new.” Lucifer stated in a lighter tone.

“Well it’s just my guess.” Maze said and then again spoke out in comparatively loud voice, “from something new..i too got reminded of something new.”

“What?” Asked lucifer.

“The soldier..he said Gong used to kill people to feed on them..” maze reminded

“Ohh yess..what I concluded from soldier’s words was that from each human he used to take only one organ that was the fittest and healthiest in that person and after killing he’s even using their souls to make his army.” Lucifer said.

“Killing two birds with one stone.” Maze intoned and then spoke out, “so that means he would kill 10 more people.”

“How’s that?” Lucifer asked.

“Listen with each human he takes one part..to make himself look like a human..and human body has around 78 organs..and if we remove organs like limbs, nose, skeleton cz he already have such organs then the count decreases to 68..right?” He said.

“Yeah!” Lucifer said trying to understand what he was saying.

“And till date he had killed 58 people excluding soldier as he couldn’t take anything from him..so only 10 organs left...and these missing organs are weakness of his semi- human body..he would keep on hunting on humans till he completes his body.”maze completed and took a deep breath.

Lucifer looked at him in astonishment..and with eyes wide open, “Now that you have used your brain to the full capacity..suggest me what we should do?” He ask giving the lead to maze.

“We just have to track Daisy…oppes I mean Lily’s sister..Dia..remember that soldier was following her?..she must be having a strong organ that Gong needs.” Maze said.

“So you mean we will now track the assumed victims..that’s Dia according to our calculations and we can get hold of him?” Lucifer concluded.

“Yup..we will deliberately push our Goat in danger, the tiger would definitely come to hunt upon her.” Maze said.

Lucifer looked at him in admiration and acted to clap for him..while he bowed and thanked dramatically..

But before ending conversation lucifer asked, “By the way how did you know that Dia was being followed?”

Maze looked at him sheepishly knowing his secret was out “umm..well just like you are trying to figure out if Lily is actually Lilith or not.. I’m also trying to figure out if Dia is Daisy or just her human replica.”

Lucifer nodded and murmured, “God knows who these women are..or at least how they have their faces.”

The conversation ended here with both men lying lazily on couch.
