CHAPTER 12

It’s been a week after the death and burial of Uncle Asher; Jack couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that had engulfed his mind after the news hit them hard like a thunderstorm. He had known his uncle Asher to be a strong and reliable individual. Someone who had stood by him while he was growing up.

The thought lingered as he made his way out of his room towards his father’s home office, where he had been called.

He knocked on the door before stepping inside, where he met his father and Kelvin Wang both having a brief conversation. He could see them staring at him and wasn’t sure why he was called, but knew it was something important.

He greeted his father and the butler, after which he sat beside Kelvin Wang across his father’s desk.

Mr Harrison drew a deep breath as he leaned forward with his palm placed on the desk. Clearing his throat softly. “Jack, I am happy you are here. We were discussing about you before you came.”

“About me?” he retorted with his eyebrows raised in curiosity
