AFTERMATH OF FIRST MISSION

"What? How did you enter the city if you didn’t know its name? You don’t even look like you are from around here," the man bombarded Hudson with questions.

"I’m new here, sir, and truly I might have forgotten the name of the city; that’s why I asked you, can you please tell me?" Hudson inquired, raising an eyebrow.

The man looked at Hudson from head to toe weirdly. "This town is Magnitoz, the Land of Wizardry," he answered calmly.

"Okay, thanks for answering that for me; I appreciate it," Hudson said with a smile. Hudson didn’t want to stand in front of the man any longer, so he bid him farewell and walked away from him.

This place is extremely different from earth, and I don’t think cellphones can work in here; how do I access some type of map that could show me around? Hudson wondered. Then an idea hit him: since this magical world is somehow prehistoric, it must mean that they have some sort of paper map. After that, he walked around looking for a store where he could purchase a map of the city.

Hudson was standing in a dark corner, where he would be waiting for the transmission to the modern world to happen.

He had already purchased a map of the city with 20 gold coins, which was in his backpack. Hudson checked the timer on his watch and saw that it had less than 3 minutes remaining before the transmission.

Suddenly a white doorway opened in front of him, and without any hesitation, he went into it and arrived in front of his family's apartment building.

I need to find a way to sell some of my gold coins and convert them for money; I hope no one has come back home yet, he thought.

Hudson arrived in front of the apartment; he noticed the door was locked and that no one was home yet, so he opened the door and went in. He arrived inside his bedroom; he dropped his backpack on the bed, walked over to the wardrobe at the side of the room, and collected his laptop from inside. He walked over to a chair and a table that were at the side of his bed and sat down as he placed the laptop on the table.

He wanted to look for a store where he could sell his gold coins and convert them into cash. After looking online, he found a pawn shop that was about 20 minutes away from his house. He swiftly wrote the address on a piece of paper.

After selling the gold coins, I will have to get myself a new phone, he thought with a smile.

Hudson arrived in front of the pawn shop; he went through the wide, transparent door. There were multiple stands inside the shop, and customers were gathered around those stands. Hudson noticed a stand where there was only one guy standing behind; he ambled over there and stood behind the guy. A few moments later, it was his turn. The man sitting behind the counter was a young-looking black guy that was in his late 20s; he was wearing a blue shirt and had an headphone around his neck.

"What would you like to pawn, sir?" He asked politely.

"I would like to pawn gold coins," Hudson answered as he took out the blue bag that contained the 50 gold coins from inside his backpack. He dropped it on the desk.

The worker opened the back and looked at the gold coin; his mouth was wide open in awe as he had never seen a gold coin like that before.

"Where did you get these gold coins? I have never seen anything like them before," he said, raising a confused eyebrow.

"Where I get them is none of your business; will you be able to exchange them or not?" He questioned.

"Of course, let me weigh them," the guy said, placing the gold coins inside a weighing machine that was next to him. After that, he turned to look at Hudson.

"They are worth 4,100 dollars," the guy said, staring at Hudson.

"Alright, give me the money," Hudson replied. After that, the guy counted the money and handed it to Hudson. A bright smile curled across his lips.

This is great; this is the easiest 4,100 dollars I have ever made in my life. With the power of the dual empire building system, I will definitely make a lot of money, I no longer have to work as a bartender, and I am going to teach those my course mates a lesson for how they beat me up—they are going to pay, he thought.

Later in the evening, Hudson was heading back home. After exchanging some of his gold coins for money, he went to buy a new phone and restored all the data he had saved on the cloud to his new cellphone. As he got to his apartment floor, he started hearing his mother’s voice.

"Why are you doing this to me and my family!" Hearing his mother scream, he swiftly rushed over to the apartment. As he got to the front of the apartment door, he saw a couple of their house belongings on the ground and their landlord and his mom arguing.

"I don’t want you and your family to live here anymore; you haven’t paid me my rent for almost two months now." The landlord said in a rumbling tone. He was an old-looking man with grey hair who was in his late 60s.

His mom, Tricia Atonal, was in her early 50s, and his little sister, Grace, was standing next to his mom.

"Please, sir, don’t do this to my family, I beg of you; I told you that I would pay you half of your money this coming weekend," Tricia pleaded as she folded her hands together, tears shone in her eyes. At this point, she hasn’t noticed that Hudson has arrived.

"Mom, what is going on here?" Hudson asked in a rumbling tone; he understood that the landlord was chasing them out and that his mom was begging, but he had never seen her in such a state before.
