UNEXSPECTED CRISIS

Everyone turned to look at Hudson. "Hudson, you are back!" Tricia screamed as she scuttled over to where he was and hugged him tightly.

"I was so worried about you, sweety; I thought something bad had happened to you, but as I came home and saw the note you wrote, I was relieved that you were fine," she said excitedly.

"Yeah, I am fine, mom," he replied. After that, they broke the hug. "Why is the landlord chasing us out, mom?" He asked curiously.

"I haven’t been able to meet up with the schedule of payment, and he couldn’t be patient enough to wait,” she responded.

"Patient? You want to talk about patience?!" The landlord screamed as he ambled over to where they were.

"I gave you enough time to make the payment, but you weren’t able to do that, and now I have run out of patience; I want you and your family out of my apartment now!" The landlord yelled.

Hearing how the landlord was yelling at his mother, Hudson felt a lot of pain inside; he couldn’t tolerate it, and he decided that he was going to pay the landlord the rent from the money he had left.

"How much is the rent we are owning?" Hudson asked in a cold tone as he looked at the landlord.

"How much? Why are you asking that, as if you have the money to pay me? I know how poor you and your mom are; a poor student and bartender like yourself can’t afford to pay me anything," the landlord answered bluntly.

Hudson’s eyebrows pressed tightly together as his hand squeezed tightly into a fist; he was boiling with rage, but he tried calming himself so that he wouldn’t complicate the matter with the landlord any further.

"I have the money to pay you, sir; kindly tell me the amount we are owing," Hudson asked rudely.

"Alright, your mom is owing me 3000 dollars for the two months’ rent, last month and this month," the landlord answered as he folded his arms together with his gaze fixed on Hudson.

Luckily for Hudson, he still had about 3200 dollars left after purchasing a new cellphone. He took out all the money from his right pocket; they were all hundred-dollar notes each. He removed two hundred dollars from it and handed over the remaining money to the landlord. The landlord collected the money with his mouth wide open; he couldn’t believe that Hudson had that type of money with him. Tricia was also shocked to see that Hudson had that type of money with him.

The landlord counted the money to be sure that it was up to the 3000 dollars he told Hudson. After counting the money, he raised his head to look at Hudson. "It’s complete, so I guess you can all go back into the apartment," the landlord said softly. He turned to look at Tricia.

"I am sorry for harassing you and throwing your load out of the apartment," he said calmly, with shame in his eyes.

"I forgive you, but please don’t ever behave this way with me again, or else I will sue you," Tricia replied boldly.

"I promise, I won’t act this way again," the landlord said, after which he walked away.

Tricia grabbed Hudson’s arm, turned him around, and gazed into his eyes.

"You went missing for almost two days, and you show up with three thousand dollars. I know you don’t get paid enough at Traxx Club. Tell me, how did you get that money?" She asked, raising a questioning eyebrow.

"It’s a long story, mom, and I don’t think you would want to hear that now. Let’s focus on getting our things back into the apartment, and later I will tell you everything," he responded.

"Alright," she mumbled.

Hudson was laying on his bed in his bedroom. Last night, he completely avoided talking to his mom and letting her know where he got the large amount of money, he paid the landlord with last night.

Hudson had classes in college, but he didn’t want to go because he doesn’t have enough money yet, and he also planned on taking revenge on his course mates bullies that beat him up. If he wanted to show up back to college, he plans on having enough money.

I will have to restock on the things I will sell in the magical world. First, I need to sell more lighters in the magical world and try other products that might sell there. I don’t know when I will be going back into the magical world again.

"System, when will I be able to go back into the magical world, and when will I get my next mission?" Hudson asked out loud.

"You will be able to go back into the magical world in the next seven days, and your next mission will be given then," the system answered inside his mind.

One week, that sounds fine, I won’t be going to school then, I can do it, my goal is to make as much money as I can from the magical world and be able to take care of my family and also get my revenge on those bullies, he thought.

Hudson took out his cellphone, which was under the pillow that he was lying on. He dialed his boss at Traxx Clubs’ number; he wanted to quit the job. After a few rings, the boss answered the call.

"Hey, I couldn’t reach you last night; why didn’t you come for your shifts?" A manly voice asked from the other end of the call.

"I’m sorry about that, but I am no longer interested in working for the club anymore," Hudson responded calmly.

"What? Why? What happened? I thought you needed the money to be able to afford your college tuition and all those other things you told me about?" He bombarded Hudson with questions. Hudson was one of the best workers at the club, and losing Hudson was a big deal for the boss.

"Yes, but I don’t need the job anymore; I found a way to handle all that," Hudson answered.

"Okay, but can’t I do anything to make you stay? You are one of my most trusted bartenders."

"No, I have made up my mind, and there is nothing that can make me stay," Hudson answered.

"Alright if you say so, Goodluck Hudson," he said in a sad tone,

"Thanks," After that, Hudson ended the call. He let out a long sigh as he dropped his cellphone on the bed next to him.

Wow, I never thought I would have to quit that job one day; it seems like yesterday, when I couldn’t even think of quitting the job, Hudson thought.

He got down from his bed and went over to his wardrobe; he took out his blue backpack and walked over to his bed, where he sat at the edge of the bed. He opened the backpack and took out a long piece of brown paper that was wrapped and tied with a black rope. It was the map of the city in the magical world.
