Rael raised his hand, signaling for the men to quiet down.

Instantly, the clamor turned back into silence.

He then asked, his tone calm but firm, “Has the Lord of the Scorpion decided to break his promise and no longer respect his vow to stay beyond the border?”

At that moment, a blonde man stepped forward and knelt before Rael on one knee.

With respect, he explained, “The Lord of the Scorpion has already been informed of your arrival, Lord Vinsion.”

“We were sent here solely to ensure the order and security of this place.”

Joel and the elite guards standing to his left and right finally realized that these heavily armed men were subordinates of the Lord of the Scorpion.

They were utterly dumbfounded.

“Is this some kind of illusion?”

“If the Lord of the Scorpion has such a force stationed here, he must be far stronger than the rumors suggest.”

“But look at this! They’re all bowing to Lord Vinsion!”

“It seems there’s much more to Lord Vinsion than we know.”

“That young man is truly a living legend of Noorhaven.”

"Someone as great as Lord Vinsion surely wouldn’t be involved in petty crimes like bribery, corruption, or any other acts of dishonesty, right?"

"I can’t even begin to imagine what terrible things would happen to Noorhaven if Lord Vinsion ever turned his back on it."

Shortly after, the blonde man stood and opened the door of a military vehicle for Rael.

 "Please, Lord Vinsion."

Inside the vehicle, Rael gave a calm instruction.

"Take me to the summit of Mount Kryden."

The driver nodded.

"My pleasure, Lord Vinsion."

The vehicle's engine roared to life, and the military car sped up the wide mountain road toward the summit.

Behind it, a long convoy of armed vehicles followed in perfect formation.

The procession was so grand it drew the attention of anyone who happened to witness it.

As the convoy made its way to the peak, warlord troops who were usually locked in combat lowered their weapons and saluted as the vehicles passed.

At the summit of Mount Kryden, the wind blew briskly, sending chills down the spine.

Rael stepped out of the vehicle alone.

His sharp gaze scanning the cold, snow-covered landscape.

With steady steps, he walked toward the lone grave at the summit.

His followers, standing behind him, dared neither to speak nor lift their heads.

At the same time, Joel hugged his arms tightly to fight the biting cold, unease written all over his face.

Curious, Joel leaned toward the blonde man beside him and whispered, "Why is there a grave at the summit of this mountain?"

The blonde man didn’t answer.

Instead, he quickly clamped a hand over Joel’s mouth.

With a stern whisper, he warned, "It’s best if you stay silent and avoid asking about things you shouldn’t know."

He added, his voice low but firm, "Even if blood flows like a river at the base of Mount Kryden, no one would dare disturb the summit."

The explanation left Joel wide-eyed and frozen in place.

Meanwhile, Rael gently placed a bouquet of flowers and the offerings he had prepared in front of the grave.

His gaze softened as he stared at the tombstone, his expression veiled with emotion.

In a low, calm voice, Rael spoke, "Master, I’ve fulfilled your wish to take care of Noorhaven."

"I have transformed this land, once filled with chaos, into a prosperous and peaceful one."

"Now that I’ve fulfilled your wish, I think it’s time for me to leave."

It turned out that the person buried in this cemetery was Rael’s life mentor, who saved his life and taught him valuable skills.

If it weren’t for Rael’s mentor, Rael wouldn’t be who he was today.

As soon as Rael finished speaking, a snowstorm suddenly swept across the peak of Mount Kryden.

Without hesitation, Rael turned to leave.

His every step was unwavering, as if he was turning the snow beneath his feet into ice.

The man who had previously welcomed Rael now took the initiative to lead the group in paying their respects to the grave.

The snowstorm on the summit intensified.

Witnessing these events, Joel couldn’t help but be mesmerized.

'By all that is holy.'

'Someone as great and powerful as Lord Vinsion doesn’t deserve to be imprisoned.'

'If he is, Noorhaven will be in grave danger!'

Half an hour later, Rael reached the foot of Mount Kryden and entered Joel’s car.

With a calm voice, Rael spoke, "Take me back."

Joel immediately nodded in obedience.

His body was still tense from the cold, and he didn’t dare let any of his subordinates take over the task.

The car’s engine purred softly as it began to move.

When Joel looked ahead, his gaze fell upon the blonde man, who stood out more than the well-organized soldiers lined up on either side of the road.

From his appearance, Joel guessed he was a warlord or someone of similar standing.

The blonde man gave Rael a respectful salute, followed by the other armed men.

He spoke with deep reverence, "Farewell, Lord Vinsion the great!"

The voice echoed behind the car, reverberating in Joel’s chest.

The shock and tension almost made Joel forget how to drive.

'Dammit. This was not the time to daydream!'

With the last of his focus, Joel pinched his own thigh to bring himself back to the present and drove away from the place.

As they drove back, Joel noticed the rows of soldiers along the road saluting Rael in the car.

Impressive!

He hadn’t expect the Lord of the Scorpion to be this powerful.

In his heart, Joel also admired Rael, who was being respected by the Lord of the Scorpion.

If that old bastard insisted on imprisoning Lord Vinsion, Noorhaven was finished.

Deep down, he felt heavy and uneasy about escorting a hero like Rael to prison. One of Joel’s subordinates asked when they arrived at the police station, "Sir, how should we arrange accommodation for Lord Vinsion?"As those on Rael’s side, they certainly didn’t want to let him stay in an inappropriate place.Joel scoffed in annoyance. "Ugh, the dungeon is disgusting. Lord Vinsion really doesn’t deserve to be there!"However, Rael didn’t mind where he slept. "Don’t worry, Mr. Myers.""I’ll be fine wherever I am."Joel didn’t mean to belittle the man before him. It was just that someone as remarkable as Rael shouldn’t be breathing in the foul air of a dungeon, let alone staying there. With regret, Joel replied, "My Lord, the dungeon is filthy, smells bad, and is suffocating.""It’s completely unfit for you."Still, Rael remained firm. "It’s fine."Just as Joel was about to speak again, Rael raised his hand as if to st

After some time of extensive renovations transforming the dungeon cell into a luxurious five-star-style room, Joel approached Rael. The chief of police reported, “My Lord, the renovation of your chamber will soon be completed.”“I’ve ensured that your new bed is incredibly comfortable and excellent for your back health.”He gave a faint smile. Deep down, Joel hoped that this small gesture he had done for Rael would make his stay in the dungeon a bit more comfortable.Rael nodded. “You’ve worked too hard, Mr. Myers.”Joel quickly shook his head. “Not at all, My Lord. It’s nothing.”“In fact, I still regret that I couldn’t get you out of the dungeon and provide you with a better place to stay.”Rael smiled. “I appreciate your efforts, Mr. Myers.”“I’ve already told you, haven’t I? I can sleep anywhere.”Rael added, “For me, what matters most is that I can enjoy my sleep without any disturbances.”“You must know about my dedication when I started rebuilding Noorhaven, don’t you?”Joel

It was evident he had thoroughly enjoyed his night with Calista. As Mathis entered the dining room, he saw Oberon had prepared breakfast for him.Oberon greeted him warmly, "Young master, please join me.""You must be very tired and need to replenish your energy."Mathis simply smiled and approached the dining table, feeling his hunger take over.Perfect. A considerate father-in-law was all he needed.Mathis thought as he reached for a mug of milk.Taking a sip, however, he immediately spat it out, his face contorted in disgust. The milk was both scalding hot and oddly sour."Damn it!" He cursed under his breath. He then grabbed a piece of bread, hoping to salvage his breakfast. But as he bit into the bread, his eyebrows furrowed involuntarily.'Is this really fresh bread?' 'Why does it taste stale and moldy?'From its appearance, the food looked freshly served. Moreover, Oberon appeared calm,

How can I help you?”“Hello, Mr. Myers. It’s me, Mathis Huber.”Joel’s expression darkened immediately.“Oh, Mr. Huber. What’s the reason for calling so early in the morning?”“I need your presence this afternoon. I’m planning a major raid on several of Rael’s properties in the Gold Throne district.”“From the information I’ve gathered, these properties are being used as hideouts for... well, Rael’s mistresses.”At that moment, Mathis grinned widely, feeling confident about exposing Rael’s secrets to the public. He added, “This is a massive scandal, Mr. Myers! I truly expect your participation.”After discussing a few details of the plan, the call came to an end.Could what Mathis said be true?Curious and conflicted, Joel couldn’t help but

This event sent waves of uncontrollable joy through Mathis’ chest. However, he tried to remain calm.Mathis began to resume his role of bringing down Rael. He started acting with a sad expression on his face.“I’m sad to say so, but it’s truly unfortunate that the evidence is genuine.”“This is completely unacceptable!”“How could an official casually purchase luxury properties and then indulge in the company of so many women without stealing from the state’s funds?”“Is that even possible?”“If Rael is truly not involved with many prostitutes and supporting so many mistresses of his, then how can there be routine transactions of thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars to these women?”“Meanwhile, the people pay taxes to make Noorhaven a better place.”“But unfortunately, corrupt officials have ruined the trust of the people!”Mathis placed his hand over his chest, as if deeply disappointed and saddened.“It turns out that we’ve all been deceived by the holy mask of Rael Vinsio

After this, you will begin the investigation.”Mathis’ subordinates nodded in unison. “Understood, Sir.”Once everything was ready, Mathis made a phone call to Oberon. At the same time, Oberon was holding a video conference with governors from other states, exchanging experiences and stories. In the middle of the conference, Oberon’s smartphone rang, displaying the name Mathis Huber.Excited, Oberon quickly answered the call, “Mathis, how’s everything going now?”Mathis responded. “I’m currently in front of one of Rael’s properties. Ready to expose his true color.”At that moment, something struck Oberon’s mind. Why not take this opportunity to tarnish Rael’s reputation in front of the other governors?A sly smile appeared on Oberon’s

Instead, the figure stepping through the door was a middle-aged woman with a large frame and strands of gray hair visible among her locks.Whispers broke out among the crowd as the woman’s appearance shattered their fantasies of the young, seductive women who supposedly filled “Rael’s harem.”“Did we raid the wrong place?”“Why is it a middle-aged woman?”“Am I the only one who thinks this harem is incredibly strange?”“You’re right. Usually, young and wealthy men prefer women who are young, beautiful, and sexy.”Although Mathis found his discovery strange and shocking, he quickly entertained another possibility.A disgusted smirk crept onto Mathis’s lips.“Well, it

Does he think we’re so foolish and easily deceived by his little tricks?”“It would be outright stupid if he blatantly showed off the beautiful women in his harem.”“You’re right. Make sure you report to me if you see any movement from Lord Vinsion’s subordinates. If there are any.”They all nodded in unison. “Understood.”Not long after, news of the illegal immigrants’ entry quickly spread because many officials who had previously worked under Rael had either resigned or been dismissed.
