Chapter 22

The story made the time fly by so quickly. It was nine on dot and people were going into their tents while some were still having fun outside.

I felt someone hold my hand and I turned to look at who it was and I smiled the moment I saw him next to me.

"I’m sorry about earlier, Jada can be a drama queen but I guarantee you that nothing is going on between us." He said as he handed me a sandwich.

"Thanks," I said. I looked at him for a while and smiled again. "I believe you."

Did I just read his mind? I guessed I did but Chase wasn’t lying and that alone made me happy.

Denise already went to eat in her tent and said she would be back once she is done.

I unwrapped the sandwich and took a big bite from it. "Are you going to be traveling this summer?" I asked around a mouthful of food.

"Well, first of all, Inez, you need to take it slowly."

"Hmm," I said as I nearly choked.

"I will be back... let me go and bring water," he said as he stood up.
