"But Principal Elise, we thought we were going to swim today!" Jada said as she stood up from where she was seated. "We don’t want to hear a story... we are not kids!" she added.

"You are the only one who disagrees with Jada, no one else... so sit down." principal Elise said.

She looked directly at her friend and took Maddie’s hand. "Maddie does."

Confused, Maddie looked at the remaining students and back at Jada. "I do?"

"Yes Maddie, remember?" Jada said. Giving her friend an agreement look.

"I think it’d be best to sit with the rest of the people tonight and swim tomorrow before we go home.— I mean, it’s getting dark and I am scared and the water will be too cold Jada, unless you are a witch, then you can survive out there alone." Maddie said as she covered her body properly with the blanket around her shoulders.

I was sure she wasn’t in the mood for Jada’s company. She wanted to stay and have fun with the rest of the class.

Jada felt embarrassed. She scoffed and carried her bag.
