Ch 81. Room Service

As Bree's words hit me, my cheeks burn with heat, and my mind starts racing for a witty response while attempting to maintain my composure.

"Well, let's hope it's a good kind of unforgettable," I say, trying to sound nonchalant. “No more bandits, fights, or contests. Just a good dinner and a night of rest would do.”

Bree throws her head back, her laughter ringing out like bells. I join in, the tension of our dangerous travels lifting temporarily as we revel in the moment. I watch as she wipes tears from her eyes, her face alight with joy.

While we wait for our dinner to arrive, Bree tells me stories of her past adventures. Her eyes light up as she recounts her daring escapades, and I can't help but be drawn in by her energy and passion.

She doesn't describe her childhood. But the fact remains that she has been through things most others will never experience. I find myself wondering if I could ever share similar experiences with her.
