This was about as bad as things could go for the humans as Todd had suffered some sort of injury due to demon Sarah's spinning laser attack. Jennifer and I were beaten up but otherwise not too bad off. Jackson had eaten a supercharged fireball that he created, and demon Sarah used its own momentum to send it back at him ten times as painful. She got him right in the head much like how she had shot me in the head which led to my fall through the portal to hell in Mrs. Tannell’s living room.
Jackson sprinted to Todd as he continued to dodge the lasers being zapped from Sarah's fingertips. I had drawn close to her and felt as if she had finally dropped her guard or was unable to focus as clearly as she needed to in order to protect herself. Now, if I could just get my arms around her, we would be set. Just as I lunged out to grab her, demon Sarah caught me with a right hoo
Jennifer sprinted away the few feet to Todd’s windowless white van. Jackson sat next to Todd on the road as his body seemed to have ceased drifting away into the darkness. The van door slammed shut as Jennifer yanked herself into the driver’s seat. The van growled and hissed, but it would not fire up. I had forgotten that the demon that tried to kill me but inadvertently saved me had zapped the hell out of the van and probably fried some pretty serious parts that the van needed to work properly.Jackson’s head turned quickly as he heard the van struggling to fire up, he knew how serious this was and that we needed the van if there was even the slightest of chances that we would be able to get Todd some help. It did not take long for him to get there, as he quickly and repetitively smacked the crap out of the painted flaking hood. Each slap with his hand sent millions of tiny paint particles in the air, a poisonous type of
All Jennifer and I wanted to do was get to the school with Todd and Jackson unconscious in the back of Todd's rust bucket of a van. Sure, neither of us had a driver's license but we could not exactly call anyone to help as we were dealing with demons and not regarding human problems. I did not intend on crossing over the centerline, that was certainly not a part of the plan. The officer had every right to pull us over but that created a large problem for all of us. Jennifer had met a few of the police officers in town, she had a rough childhood. "Just act cool, do not freak out, and respond clearly and concisely. If it goes badly, I got your back. Trust me," she said. As the officer approached Todd's windowless white van, he rested his hand in his firearm and I instantly began to panic. Just the show of authority and
We pulled up in front of the school, the prison style gates were shut, but we all knew that the school gates were unable to be locked and secured. The trouble we had was trying to get Todd inside of the school, as I have stated eight hundred times in this story, he is a large man, and it was just Jennifer and me. I had been at this school long enough to learn that the laboratory, at the far end of the school, gave us direct access to the building and had a lock that did not function properly. The school administrators knew about this, but nothing had ever happened, so it did not constitute the budget to fix it. A litany of cars were heading my way as I sat behind the driver’s seat without even having as much as a learner’s permit. I let the windowless white van with the severely crippled hood idle in the middle of the road, the last thing we needed was some more attention on the tw
Old Mrs. Williams with her fucking poodle cinched up to her chest, pulled out her cellphone, an old Nokia ‘could survive a nuclear blast’ style phone and started pressing buttons. There was no way I was going to allow Mrs. Tannell to get involved in this situation, Todd and Jackson, Demon Sarah, us in the school, so action had to be taken to ensure we remained free to operate without any interferences. Jennifer stood with me as we watched our future unfold before our eyes, this old bag was going to ruin everything. Jennifer and I looked at each other, neither wanting to make the move that we knew we had to make. Undoubtedly, the situation was going to escalate one way or the other, we should just take control and escalate it how we want it. I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed the phone from Mrs. Williams' skeletal hand. The way her body reacted was beyond hilarious, as she reacted like she had been punched in the face by a very large man.
Cleaning up a destroyed body, especially a hundred-year-old dead body, is not as easy as it sounds. Jennifer and I had to get to Todd, but we just could not leave Mrs. Williams’ dead corpse, however many pieces she was blown into, lying around on the ground outside of the school laboratory. Tomorrow was a school day, and this place would be riddled with nosey little kids and intuitive, barely, adults swarming the school like ants on an ant hill. Just as Jennifer and I began to clean up the remnants of Mrs. Williams, a disconcerting noise rumbled from inside Todd’s windowless white van with the fucked-up hood and magical exotic Italian engine. Stanley the poodle flinched in fear, but he was quickly learning that we were his new owners and would let nothing bad happen to him. The van began to rock left to right and front and back, a sort of shimmy of dancing. My main concern was unconscious Jackson, had something snuck into the van while we were
I suppose to some of you out there reading this play by play of my life and how I died, turning slightly evil is not a huge deal. It is not a deal breaker as far as being a proper good human being is concerned. For me, it hit my soul like a ton of bricks falling from the top of the empire state building with all of the force landing on me as if I were an ant just minding my own business, it was taxing to say the least. I was not proud of myself; I did not take pride in the fact that I had bare handedly killed another living person. It was something that had to be done to ensure the safety of my little brother and my alliance member and dear friend Todd. Todd was sitting up on the laboratory table, rubbing his arm where I had forced my pendant into his arm in order to increase our chances at saving his life. His face was that of a small child, bewildered and confused. I suppose those are the same thing but using both of them really drives m
With a crank of the key, Todd started his horribly disfigured truck. His face lit up with excitement as the twelve cylinders bellowed out a symphony of pure excitement. Before he shifted into drive, Todd blipped the throttle and listened to the wild beast of an engine sing out a gorgeous song of power and grace. We sat for a while, waiting for the excitement to wear off so we could get on the road and get to my house. Todd snaked his way down the road, driving while still in a state of shock or age regression, towards my house so that we could finally address the demon Sarah issue and ensure that we kept her alive so she would not be reborn again stronger than before. Every few seconds or so, Todd would smash the gas and send the van swerving and sliding down the road leaving massively thick rubber markings and swooshing noxious plumes of smoke into the relatively fresh air. Jennifer, Jackson, and I were tossed around like rag dolls, even thou
Under the pile of wood that Jennifer had placed on top of demon Sarah, hisses and growls slithered out, fighting the air for dominance. Once my dad went inside, Todd rejoined our squad, (Jennifer, Jackson, and me) as we started to brainstorm how we could block out Sarah’s abilities and where we could store her. Putting this wild demon bitch back into my closet, that was not going to happen. I had a few ideas, but I was going to need help and I would certainly need the rest of this miniature alliance to concur and help me out. The more wood we removed, the louder and more aggressive the hostile noises became. None of us were concerned, we had secured her very well this time and Jennifer had so kindly removed her arm at the shoulder. Keep her alive, just long enough for us to save Todd, that was the plan at the time and Jennifer’s execution of that plan was superb. Her quick thinking while we were severely under pressure likely helped to sav
