Chapter 57

The demon’s chest cavity, dark and shriveled, was wide open.  Each bone Todd encountered had hundreds of small spines growing from them, like thorns on a rose bush.  For some reason, we all disregarded the gruesomeness of what we were looking at.  It was a relatively human type of corpse, except for the extra heads, legs and arms.  You had to use your imagination to really let the demon have some type of place in your heart, human wise.  Todd was being as delicate as possible, moving slower than the slowest three toed sloth.

"I have read that one prick from any of a demons thorns results in immediate excruciating death.  Please, keep your distance and do not rush me," he said.
