chapter 1 : heavenly Werewolf system part 1

"The senses, the plural form of the word 'sense,' are the means of perception in living beings. They assist in recognizing and classifying things to understand their importance... "

Inside one of the lecture halls at the University of North Texas in Denton, Professor Ibrahim stood. He was a middle-aged man with a smart and professional appearance. His bald head stood out against his smiling face. His light beard adorned his prominent chin. His brown eyes sparkled with vitality and curiosity. He seemed somewhat short in stature, but moved with confidence and smoothness.

"Humans have at least 20 additional senses..." Ibrahim paused and pointed to one of the students who was flirting with a girl beside him. Then he continued,

"Yes, Mr. Cortez, there are more than the five senses that everyone here knows, totaling more than eleven, including the senses of their internal feelings, such as pain, balance, motion perception, the sense of time, the sense of direction, and the ability to perceive changes in the magnetic field..."

As Professor Ibrahim delivered the lecture, in the back row sat Michael, a 20-year-old young man in his first year at the university. He sat far away from the lecturer and other students, his appearance reflecting his solitude. His short black hair covered part of his forehead, which showed signs of wrinkles from constant thinking.

His pale white skin seemed as if he suffered from a perpetual loss of blood. His gray eyes resembled a deep well, concealing a dark secret. His body was frail and slight, as if he hadn't eaten or drunk for days.

He stared into the void with his deep gray eyes, or rather, he looked at the hidden facade that only he could see.

[Synchronizing the heavenly Werewolf System with the host Michael Edmond... Progress: 93%]

This was a source of great frustration for him. This message appeared since yesterday and the progress percentage hadn't changed. He didn't know what this system was or how he acquired it.

A week ago, he had gone out with his only friend, Max, where he found a strange rock shining with a blue color. He took it with him as a souvenir.

Last night, while playing with the rock on his desk, he accidentally hit his hand on a protruding nail from the table. His blood dripped onto the rock, and in an instant, the rock transformed into a dark blue light and entered his forehead. He felt a strong electric shock and fell to the ground unconscious. When he woke up, he saw the mysterious message in front of his eyes.

[Synchronizing the heavenly Werewolf System with the host Michael Edmond... . . ]

He didn't tell anyone about this because he thought it was just a hallucination. But when the message didn't disappear, he knew it was real, and he even confirmed that he was the only one who could see the message, realizing that no one else could notice it.

But unfortunately, nothing has changed since then. The progress rate remained stuck at 93%, and there was no other noticeable effect on his body or senses.

But perhaps this was just a dream that would soon fade away...

He cast one final glance at the message floating in front of him. No matter how he looked at it, there was a significant resemblance between what was happening to him now and those systems he had read about in novels. Naturally, Michael, a knowledgeable young man, had read many novels and fantasy stories, so he had a great anticipation about this matter. He was, of course, puzzled about how or why he obtained this system, but he pushed these unanswered questions to the back of his mind.

His phone's sound interrupted his thoughts.

He looked at the message sent by Max.

"Hello, my gloomy friend! Do you have free time in the evening?"

Michael smiled after finishing reading his only friend's message.

"No! I need to help my brother with some matters this evening."

He pressed the device with the name "my love," unconsciously forming a small smile on his face. He tapped on the screen and sent a message.

"Are you available after the lecture?"

He received no response. The person Michael messaged was his close friend Susan, who also attended the same university but had a different major. She studied law, and their relationship had lasted for six months.

"Most likely, she..." Michael didn't finish his sentence as he received a message from an unknown number.

"Hmm! What's this..."

He cautiously opened the message and felt shocked when he read its contents. It was a picture of Susan kissing another guy in the university's garden. There were more pictures showing intimate moments between them. Below the pictures, it was written:

"I think you deserve to know the truth. Susan has been cheating on you for months. I think you know the other person, Louis. Open your eyes to the truth. I hope you find someone better than her."

Michael couldn't believe what he was seeing. How could Susan betray him in this way? Had she been lying to him all this time? Did she really love him?

He wanted to get up and confront Louis, but instead, he remained seated, staring at the screen, trying to comprehend what had happened.

At that moment, Michael noticed the voice of Professor Ibrahim, who was concluding the lecture. He said loudly and clearly, "Thank you all for attending and paying attention. That's all for today... I wish you a happy day."

The students started leaving the room quickly, discussing the lecture or their plans for the rest of the day. Michael didn't move from his seat; he was immersed in his thoughts.

"Hey! Michael, what are you staring at?"

A voice entered his ear, from the person Michael currently hated the most. Before he could react, his phone was taken from his hands.

"What do we have here..." Louis took the phone and then looked at Michael with an arrogant smile.

Michael turned around and saw the arrogant young man, Louis, standing behind him. Louis was tall, with a well-trained body, curly blond hair, and green eyes. Michael stared at him with anger and hatred.

Louis's expression changed when he looked at the content on his phone. When he lifted his head to ask Michael about the identity of the person who sent this picture, he received an unexpected punch directly in his face.

Boom!

Louis fell to the ground, clutching his bleeding nose. He was shocked and in pain from the sudden blow. He looked up at Michael, who stood over him, shouting in his face.

"How dare you...!"

Michael was shocked and disoriented. He angrily struck Louis's face, unable to control his anger. Anyone in his position would have lost control.

Suddenly, he felt a powerful blow to his head. He toppled to the ground, feeling dizzy and in pain. He looked back and saw another guy standing behind him, who was a friend of Louis. He had witnessed the scene from a distance. He decided to intervene and help Louis.

"What do you think you're doing, you son of a bitch?" the guy said angrily.

At the same time, another guy came alongside Louis and helped him to stand. He was also one of his friends, having heard his screams from the adjacent room. He looked at Louis, who was holding his bleeding nose, and asked,

"What happened here? Why did that crazy son of a bitch hit you?"

Louis didn't answer but instead stepped forward and grabbed Michael by his collar, then started hitting him.

"You crazy son of bitch! I didn't expect you to dare to hit me..."

Louis shouted angrily while striking Michael, who was protecting his face with his hands, in a disadvantaged position as Louis was stronger.

Louis stopped hitting Michael and pointed at the two guys behind him, ordering,

"Help him stand..."

Michael's face was covered in blood, and some of his teeth were broken, but he didn't lose his angry gaze towards Louis.

"Those pictures are a lie, a lie..." he repeated in his mind, holding onto the hope that Susan was innocent of his betrayal.

The fight between Michael and Louis caught the attention of the other students, who gathered around them, sympathizing with Michael, who was almost falling to the ground.

Louis smirked mockingly and said,

"Did you really think Susan loved you!? You foolish pig..."

Michael's facial expression changed as he tried to calm himself and convince himself that it was just a rumor.

Suddenly, the students dispersed and made way, and Louis and the others turned to see a beautiful girl wearing a light blue dress, her brown hair flowing down to her mid-back.

Michael felt shocked and bitter, his eyes filled with frustration, anger, and sadness. And when he tried to speak, he saw Susan completely ignoring him, as if he was nothing, and going to Louis's side with concern on her face.

"Oh my God! Who did this to you!?" she exclaimed.

Louis hugged Susan from her waist and then pointed at Michael, who witnessed the painful scene in front of him.

"This scumbag is the one who tried to harm you..."

Then Louis whispered in Susan's ear, who changed her expression and became angry. Her green eyes stared at Michael. Michael was on the verge of tears and said in a choked voice,

"Susan, how could you? I loved you with all my heart, and you betray me with this scoundrel?"

"Michael, you're pitiful! How dare you attack Louis? The man I love and who loves me. You don't even deserve a glance from me! You were just a means of passing time, and I didn't feel anything towards you!" Susan said loudly and contemptuously, provoking Michael, who was on the verge of collapsing.

Michael felt his heart breaking in his chest, and tears filled his eyes. He couldn't believe what he heard from Susan.

"Susan, how... How can you say this?" Michael said with a broken voice.

"I'm telling the truth, you fool!" Susan said coldly. "Please, Susan... Please..." Michael pleaded in a voice filled with pain.

"Shut up!" Susan shouted angrily. Then she forcefully pushed Michael, and he fell to the ground.

Everyone looked at him with pity. Susan looked at Michael with disdain, then turned to Louis and held his hand.

After that, they left the place without caring about Michael's condition. Michael raised his hand and was about to call out to them, but he hesitated at the last moment. He had been humiliated enough. His heart boiled with anger and frustration. He just wanted to go home and sleep. But apparently, fate had other plans. Just when his frustration reached a terrifying level, something inside him awakened.
