chapter 2 : heavenly Werewolf System part 2

In the lively and thriving city of Denton, in a modest apartment in one of the middle-class neighborhoods, Michael lay on his worn-out bed in his dark room. Astonishment and excitement were evident on his face. Somehow, this morning, after being insulted and betrayed by his girlfriend, the indicator that had been stuck at 93% finally completed, and messages appeared confirming that he had connected to the heavenly Werewolf System, a mysterious system that aligned with his soul and could alter his body, helping him become stronger in unimaginable ways.

[The heavenly Werewolf System has successfully linked with user Michael Edmond ]

[The user can access the system interface through thought. ]

[The system allows the user to allocate acquired points to any skill with a '+' sign.]

[ Points can be earned through training. ]

[ Points can also be earned through completing categorized tasks provided by the system.]

Michael was confused and curious about this sudden connection to the remarkable system. He had no idea about its source or purpose. Setting these matters aside, he summoned the system interface.

[• Name: Michael Edmond

• Race: Human

• Version: 2.0

• Level: 0

• Lineage: Unknown

• Points: 3 points

• Strength: 1 (+) / Agility: 1 (+) / Defense: 1 (+) / Health: 1 (+) / stamina : 1 (+) / Senses: 3 (+) / mind: 1 (+) ]

"These are my attributes? They seem ordinary, but I must certainly increase them. And what is this unknown lineage? Does this mean I'm not an ordinary werewolf?" Michael wondered in astonishment. He decided to explore the potential of the system.

He looked at the three points and pondered with a frown and confusion.

"I only have three points, but there are seven attributes. I'm really at a loss! Which attribute should I increase?" He gazed absentmindedly at the Strength attribute and after careful consideration, decided to allocate one point to it to see what would happen.

He placed his point on the plus sign next to Strength and witnessed how the attribute panel transformed before his eyes. His points decreased to two, and his Strength increased to two. He felt his body warming up, and a new power pulsated inside him, filling his muscles with energy.

He immersed himself in this feeling for a full minute. When the sensation subsided, Michael felt his physical strength naturally become stronger, and his body structure became more upright, with a slight increase in the muscle mass of his arms. He opened his eyes, filled with evident astonishment.

"So now I possess double the physical strength of an ordinary person!" Michael exclaimed with a mix of excitement. He had received this information when he increased the Strength attribute. Ordinary humans had only one point in each attribute, and each point represented a 50% increase. In other words, every time he added a point to an attribute, he would become twice as strong as an ordinary human.

He looked, or rather, became aware of the heightened sensory feature that was extremely elevated compared to humans. "Three points! At least I am different from others in something," he thought, setting aside his thoughts and looking at the desk. He wanted to test his current physical strength, so he moved forward, grabbed the desk, and lifted it.

"There is still some resistance, but this is something I couldn't do in the past alone!" he exclaimed.

The door swung open forcefully, and a teenager sneaked in. If you looked at him closely, you would see some resemblance between him and Michael, but he didn't give Michael a chance to stare at him. His eyes were fixed on his phone screen, as if he lived in another world, or perhaps he wanted to distance himself from Michael as much as possible.

Michael dropped the desk as quietly as possible and looked at the open door.

"Hello, Marcus. Was your day good at school?" he said warmly, trying to hide his surprise. However, the entering young man didn't pay him any attention. He resembled Michael with his black hair and gray eyes, but he was shorter and weaker. He held his phone in his hand, constantly sending text messages as if he didn't notice Michael's presence.

"Haha, well, I'm glad to see you," Michael said in a low voice, smiling awkwardly. He knew that Marcus didn't like him. In fact, no one in this house except Julia, his sweet little sister, liked him. There was also Sam, his older brother, whose attitude was like their father's, treating him with coldness and disdain, as if he were a burden on the family. Michael took a deep breath and picked up his bag from the bed. He decided to leave the room he shared with Marcus, which was small and cluttered with things. He didn't feel comfortable there, only cramped and lonely, especially after his heart was broken by that betrayal.

He descended the stairs quickly, feeling depressed by his brother's behavior. He saw a woman standing by the stove, holding a large spoon in her hand. Her brown hair was tied up in a bun, and she was singing melodiously.

"Mom, I'm going out for a short while," he said loudly, trying to get her attention. Angela turned her head towards him and smiled slightly. She loved him a lot, despite occasionally making those negative comparisons between him and her sister's children, which made him feel pressured.

"Well, my dear, be careful," she said warmly, nodding at him with the spoon. Michael didn't notice the shadow that slipped behind the curtain in the living room. He didn't hear the muted sound coming from the forgotten phone on the table.

Michael opened the wooden front door and stepped out onto the quiet street. He raised his head and looked at the dark sky filled with stars. It was around 8 PM on a cold winter day. He took out his smartphone from his pocket and decided to call his friend Max, whom he had known since childhood. Max was his best friend, and they shared everything. Michael wanted to ask him about his plans for the weekend and if he wanted to hang out together because he had neglected Max a lot these days because of that whore.

But when he entered Max's number and pressed the call button, he heard an annoying voice saying,

"The number you have dialed is either switched off or out of coverage area. Please try again later... Beep."

"Hmm! His phone is switched off..." Michael looked at the phone screen in astonishment. This was unusual for Max, as his phone was always on and connected to the internet. Michael wondered if something was wrong with his friend or if he was in trouble. He sighed with concern and said to himself,

"This is unlike Max. Anyway, I need..."

He couldn't complete his sentence as he heard a car approaching his house. He looked across the street and saw a black SUV parked in front of the garage. The door of the car opened, revealing a man in his early fifties, with a fit body and a bald head. He was wearing a gray shirt that accentuated his gray eyes. This man was Rick, Michael's father.
