Elden stood tall, the blue flames still blazing across his body. His eyes locked onto Malagar with pure hatred, yet deep within, he began to feel something strange. The power of the dragon’s blood, newly awakened, was incredible, but also… uncontrollable.

Malagar smirked. "You feel it, don’t you? That power… it doesn’t want you to resist it."

Elden gritted his teeth, trying to block out Malagar’s voice. He stepped forward, raising his sword, which burned with blue fire. "I won’t let you manipulate me."

Malagar lifted one hand, and dark shadows began swirling around him. "Let’s see how long you can hold out, Dragon Heir."

Without warning, Malagar shot forward with incredible speed. Elden had only a split second to raise his sword and block the attack. The clash between blue flames and dark shadows sent shockwaves through the entire cavern.

Kaelar, Renard, and Vaelis stepped back, trying to avoid the destruction unfolding around them.

Kaelar drew his sword. "We can’t just stand here and watch."

Vaelis nodded, but concern was etched on his face. "But Elden… he’s different. That power might be more than he can control."

Renard narrowed his eyes at Elden. "If he loses control… we could lose more than just this battle."

Meanwhile, Elden and Malagar continued their fierce battle in the collapsing cavern. Every swing of Elden’s sword left trails of fire in the air, while every movement from Malagar conjured dark shadows that seeped into the ground.

Then, something happened.

Elden swung his sword with full force, but Malagar caught it with his bare hand. For the first time, Elden’s expression shifted, he was shocked.

Malagar smirked. "Still not strong enough."

With a single motion, Malagar hurled Elden into the air and fired a black energy blast at him. Elden tried to dodge, but the attack was too fast.

A massive explosion erupted, slamming Elden hard against the cavern wall.

Blood trickled from the corner of his lips.

Malagar walked toward him, his steps slow and predatory, like a beast that knew its prey was already helpless. "You’re too impatient, Elden. Did you really think you could match me with a power you’ve just awakened?"

Elden struggled to rise, but his body felt heavy. A voice echoed in his mind.

Use more power.

Don’t hold back.

Destroy him.

Elden groaned, his hands trembling. The blue flames surrounding his body flared wildly, but this time, something changed. The fire’s color slowly shifted… into a dark purple.

Vaelis saw it and immediately turned pale. "No… he’s starting to lose control!"

Kaelar moved instantly, running toward Elden. "Elden, stop! You have to stay conscious!"

But Elden didn’t hear them.

Rage, power, and the voices in his head grew stronger. He looked at Malagar with empty eyes, then, suddenly, he smiled.

Without warning, Elden vanished in a blink and reappeared right in front of Malagar.

For the first time, Malagar had no time to react.

Elden’s fist crashed into Malagar’s chest, sending him flying backward with a force even the dark sorcerer hadn’t expected.

Kaelar, Renard, and Vaelis could only watch in horror.

Elden stood amidst the ruins, the now-purple flames raging around his body.

His eyes… were no longer the Elden they knew.

Kaelar gripped his sword tightly. "This is bad…"

Renard shook his head. "Not bad… this could be the end of all of us."

The battle wasn’t over. But Elden’s greatest enemy was no longer Malagar. It was himself.

...

Elden stood amidst the ruins of the cave, the purple flames enveloping his body raging wildly. His gaze was cold, a stark contrast to his usual self. Malagar slowly rose from the ground, his face still twisted in a grin despite the blood trickling from the corner of his lips.

"You’re starting to understand now, aren’t you?" Malagar’s voice was quiet but full of satisfaction. "That power… you cannot control it. It will control you."

Kaelar gripped his sword tightly, wary of what had just happened. He glanced at Renard and Vaelis, who were equally shocked by Elden’s sudden transformation.

"This is not a good sign," Vaelis whispered. "If the dragon’s blood flames turn purple, it means darkness has begun to seep into his soul."

Renard raised the dagger in his hand. "If he completely loses control… we may have to fight him."

Kaelar looked at Elden. He refused to believe the young man would succumb to darkness. "No," he said firmly. "I will bring him back."

Meanwhile, Elden stepped forward, his eyes locked onto Malagar. In an instant, he vanished from where he stood and reappeared right in front of Malagar with a speed even the dark sorcerer did not anticipate.

BOOM!

Elden’s punch struck Malagar’s chest, sending him hurtling through several stone pillars within the cave. Dust filled the air, creating a thin veil that obscured their vision.

Kaelar, Renard, and Vaelis stood frozen. They had never seen Elden move that fast.

But Malagar only let out a small chuckle as he rose from the rubble.

"You can feel it now, can’t you?" he said, brushing the dust off his robe. "How powerful you are when you let the darkness flow through your dragon blood."

Elden didn’t answer. His hands trembled, not out of fear, but because something within him was becoming harder to control.

Use more…

The voice kept whispering in his head. He could feel how easy it would be to surrender to this power. If he stopped resisting, everything would become effortless. No pain, no doubt.

He only needed to let the darkness take him. But in the corner of his eye, he saw Kaelar stepping forward.

"Elden!" Kaelar’s voice echoed through the cave. "You can’t let yourself be consumed by this power!"

Elden slowly turned to Kaelar. His eyes were empty, as if he no longer recognized the man who had fought beside him from the beginning.

Kaelar gripped his sword tighter. "I don’t care how strong you are now. If you let that power control you, I won’t hesitate to stop you."

Elden stared at him, expressionless. Then something unexpected happened, a faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Stop me?" His voice was deeper, almost not his own. "Are you sure you can do that, Kaelar?"

Kaelar clenched his jaw. This wasn’t Elden. This was something else.

"Then prove it."

In an instant, Elden shot toward Kaelar, his speed far surpassing anything he had ever displayed before.

Kaelar barely had time to react.

CLANG!

Their swords clashed, the impact powerful enough to send Kaelar skidding back several meters. Renard and Vaelis tensed.

"He’s completely lost control," Renard said, his dagger ready in his hand. "If we don’t stop him now, we’ll lose Elden forever."

Vaelis nodded. "We have to work together."

Kaelar looked at Elden with unwavering determination.

"I will make you come to your senses, Elden."

This time, he attacked first, his sword moving like lightning. Elden parried every strike with ease, but Kaelar didn’t relent. He kept pressing forward, searching for an opening.

But Elden was faster.

In one swift motion, Elden leapt back, raised his hand, and conjured a massive ball of purple fire—larger than any before.

Kaelar realized that if Elden unleashed it, they would all be destroyed. But before Elden could release the attack, Valtherion finally moved. The great dragon lifted its head, its golden eyes locking onto Elden’s.

"Awaken, Heir."

Valtherion’s voice echoed directly into Elden’s mind, piercing through the darkness consuming him.

Elden staggered for a moment. That voice… it was so powerful. So familiar. He looked at his hands, still engulfed in purple flames.

What had he done?

Kaelar saw the hesitation in Elden’s eyes and seized the opportunity.

With one swift movement, he threw his sword to the ground and rushed forward with bare hands.

"Elden!" he shouted. "Don’t let yourself be controlled!"

Elden looked at him, and for the first time, his eyes flickered, as if his consciousness was beginning to return.

But Malagar would not allow that to happen.

In a blur, Malagar lunged, aiming to strike Elden while he was vulnerable.

However, before Malagar could reach him, Kaelar moved first.

CLANG!

Kaelar unsheathed the sword from his back and intercepted Malagar’s attack just in time. "Stay away from him!" Kaelar roared, pushing Malagar back.

Elden felt his head pounding. Shadows, voices, they all began to fade.

And in an instant, the purple flames surrounding his body disappeared. Elden collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. He felt as if he had just escaped a nightmare.

Kaelar ran to him. "Elden, are you alright?"

Elden weakly nodded. "I… I almost lost control."

Valtherion nodded. "And you have just proven that you are stronger than that darkness."

But the battle was not over. Malagar still stood, his eyes narrowed.

"You may have resisted the darkness this time," he said quietly, "but you won’t be able to fight it forever."

Elden slowly stood, his gaze filled with determination.

"I won’t let myself fall into darkness," he declared. "And I will defeat you."

Malagar smirked. "We shall see."

Their fight was far from over. But this time, Elden knew, he would not face it alone.
