Aspiring cultivators

The next day, Fen Lian came to a village with her teacher. There were many ordinary people and warriors gathered in the Kaojin village's meeting hall. The arrival of the greatest cultivator was something that attracted people's attention, so many locals came just to witness this event. The village of Kaojin had never been visited by cultivators at all, and this was the first time. It's not that they don't want to come to this town; it's just that there are very few talented children in this town. There were four cultivation prodigies who were already in the fourth stage of bone forging.

This child is still ten years older than Fen Lian. These four children were already famous throughout the martial world because, at such a young age, they were able to cultivate well, while the twenty-year-old Fen Lian had yet to successfully cultivate. On this occasion, the four children were also present here as an example for all of them, so that they could create interest among the local people to learn how to cultivate properly. The large number of people who came made Fen Lian a little uncomfortable. She had never been in a crowd like this, let alone a talent show.

Fen Lian looked straight ahead while shaking her head slowly. "I don't think I'll be able to cultivate successfully," Fen Lian said as she watched the people coming and going.

The registration tables were already full of people queuing up for this activity. Instead of feeling excited to prove to all of them that she could, Fen Lian felt that she would fail for the umpteenth time.

Zhang had been quietly observing Fen Lian's movements; she looked nervous and restless. Seeing this, he could already guess that his disciple must be thinking of something that he had not tried yet. Zhang immediately patted Fen Lian's shoulder lightly to provide a channel of energy so that Fen Lian could be confident later.

After a few minutes of Fen Lian receiving the energy, she straightened her shoulders and looked at her uncle with a tearful gaze.

"You can do it!" Zhang said encouraging things to Fen Lian.

"But uncle, what if I fail for the umpteenth time? Will my uncle be angry with me?" Fen Lian asked anxiously.

Zhang frowned. "If you have tried your best and the failure is purely because you are incapable, there is no problem, uncle."

"However, if you deliberately make mistakes so that you don't succeed, then Uncle will be angry with you!" He said it again.

Hearing that, Fen Lian immediately felt worried. She wasn't sure how others could possibly have this much confidence in her. Fen Lian felt a little burdened by this activity; she didn't know if she could do well or not. What was clear was that seeing the teacher's uncle, who seemed confident in her, made Fen Lian feel even more burdened.

Fen Lian sighed softly, then she circulated her gaze in other directions, such as the location, which was now increasingly crowded with people arriving in turn. Until right when Fen Lian was about to return her gaze to the front, she accidentally caught the figure of a five-year-old child in the arms of a man who she believed was the father of the child.

Fen Lian frowned as the boy walked with the adult man towards the registration desk. In her heart, Fen Lian thought that the adult man was the one who would be participating in this cultivation activity. But a few seconds later, she was surprised by a committee member handing her a sheet to sign.

Fen Lian rolled her eyes in disbelief. "Is it true that the child is going to participate in cultivation?" Fen Lian asked.

Then the teacher replied. "That's right, he is one of the talented children from the neighboring sect." He said.

Fen Lian turned her head towards Zhang as she asked another question to resolve the many questions that were roaming around in her brain.

"Uncle, is that grown man the father?" Fen Lian asked.

But Zhang shook his head lightly. "No, Fen, the little boy is an orphan. The little boy's parents have entrusted him to the adult man since he was a baby," he explained in a pitying tone.

Fen Lian was instantly touched by Zhang's explanation. Apparently, it was worse than her being abandoned by her parents and left to grow up under pressure. She had already experienced what it was like to be an orphan living in the martial world under the guidance of a teacher. What joys and sorrows had he never experienced? Surely everything he had experienced during his time in Jiangnan

"Uncle, what's that kid's name?"

"Xiao Hua, while the teacher's name is Xiang. Actually, Xiao is taken from the teacher's name, while Hua is the child's surname." Check it out.

Fen Lian couldn't stop staring at the child from a distance. Until a few seconds later, a very loud voice came from the announcement spokesperson.

"All cultivator participants are requested to gather at the training hall immediately."

Fen Lian's heart was racing; cold sweat was falling down her heart was already starting to feel uneasy. She turned her head towards Zhang first before she stepped into the hall.

Zhang patted Fen Lian's shoulder lightly while smiling faintly. "You can do it! Be confident!" plead with the teacher's uncle.

Fen Lian sighed softly and then looked straight ahead at the group of participants who were walking together towards the training hall.

"I must succeed!" Fen Lian spoke confidently.

"You must!" The teacher's uncle said

After that, Fen Lian saluted Zhang while asking the teacher for prayers before she took the cultivation test. She had failed twice before, but she could not fail again this time. All her fears and insecurities had been dispelled, and her weakness was replaced with strong energy when she saw the little boy who bravely took the test. Even this little boy was so happy and confident that he was capable, seeing that Fen Lian instantly felt re-energized and confident.

"Uncle teacher, pray for Fen Lian!" She pleaded as she clenched her hands together in front of her chest.

"Fen Lian will!" He replied.

After saying that, Fen Lian left Zhang at the venue and headed for the training hall that had been set up. This time, all teachers from any sect were not allowed to enter, including parents and spectators. This was to give the prospective cultivators privacy so that they could calmly take the test.

Fen Lian entered the hall very cautiously, lifting her chin up as much as possible so as not to look weak. After that, she found a place to sit and wait for her turn to cultivate, like everyone else.

"I have to be able to do it!" Fen Lian muttered.
