The Fight

Fen Lian and Yier fought violently in the middle of this dark forest. Indeed, the two of them had never once behaved maturely, always fighting wherever they were. Even though yesterday they received a reprimand from the teacher regarding this matter, in reality the two of them still repeated the same mistakes. They were like enemies when they met, even though they had previously worked together to study together when they first entered the sect. Both of them already feel the strongest, so they dare to compete with each other's strengths.

The fight continued, and both of them were overcome by each other's emotions. Until a few seconds later a white sword flew separating the two of them. Suddenly, it surprised them both, and they stopped their respective activities. The white sword was stuck on a large tree not far from where Fen Lian was standing. A young man in a white robe came over, and as soon as he turned his body Fen Lian and Yier were surprised that the young man was their teacher, Zhang.

"Uncle teacher," Fen Lian murmured.

Yier was already scared herself seeing the expression given by Zhang—the sharp gaze, burly hands, and stern face. Zhang stepped closer to the two of them, after which he immediately pulled the sword that was stuck on the tree with his inner strength. With the sword in his hand, he immediately focused on the two children in front of him. It was very clear that these two children were holding back their fear until a few seconds later, the stern voice was heard again.

"Have you had enough of fighting? Or do you want me to help?" He asked in a stern tone.

The two of them looked at each other, then they shook their heads simultaneously. A few seconds later, Fen Lian raised her head to look at her teacher's uncle.

"Forgive Fen Lian, uncle; we are always causing trouble," Fen Lian said.

"You're the one rioting; I'm not." Yier said.

Zhang already knew the nature of the two of them; hearing their statements, he could only shake his head slowly. Indeed, Fen Lian always gave in and gently admitted her mistake. Unlike Yier, who never felt guilty, she was instead confident in what she had done. For the umpteenth time, Zhang acted firmly toward the two of them.

"Yier! What are you doing here? Why are you with Fen Lian? Weren't you practicing in the hall?" Zhang asked.

Yier was stunned by the teacher's question. "Ah no, I didn't intentionally go out and meet Fen Lian's uncle," he lied. Yier had actually come out to follow Fen Lian; her intention was to see Fen Lian cultivate, something she hoped Fen Lian would fail at, so that she could have the satisfaction of mocking Fen Lian.

"Uncle already knows everything. This is the last time Uncle reprimands you; if at any time this incident repeats itself, Uncle will not hesitate to expel you from the sect and revoke everything you have mastered." He said it firmly.

"Remember Yier! Don't think that you're the king's son, and your uncle doesn't dare to expel you! Your own father asked Uncle to educate you because he was tired of all your strange behavior, so don't you dare cause a riot!" Zhang pleaded once again.

Hearing this, instead of Yier being scared and not daring to answer, he felt like he was being challenged by Zhang.

"Why am I the only one Uncle warned? Why not Fen Lian? It's obvious that she made a mistake too!" She said it in protest.

"Dare to answer? Do you no longer want to learn to level up?" Asked Zhang.

Surprisingly, this last question was able to make Yier speechless. Becoming the greatest cultivator was her dream, and now she had gotten what she wanted. It would all be a waste if he could not level up, as he was only one step away from becoming the greatest.

Seeing this silent Yier, Zhang instantly smiled faintly. He felt satisfied that he could make Yier scared now. He then asked Yier to immediately return to training again, even though Zhang himself was not sure that this incident would not happen again, but it was clear that he had been able to control Yier today.

"Now go back to the training ground!" He said.

Yier and his friends left, leaving Zhang and Fen Lian at the venue. Meanwhile, Fen Lian and Zhang just stared at Yier's departure without saying anything else.

Until right when Yier and his troops had disappeared, Fen Lian now looked down in front of Zhang. There seemed to be a feeling of guilt that she was hiding.

"Uncle I-"

"Never mind, don't force it; uncle already knows everything. Xiao's right; you have to keep your spirits up. Don't give up easily; Uncle will slowly teach you how to fight!" He explained.

Fen Lian was touched by the teacher's statement; she did not expect that the teacher's response would be so wise towards her. Although disappointment was obvious, it was not shown at all in front of Fen Lian. It made her feel even more sad and ashamed.

Sorry, uncle, I can't give you good news. I failed; forgive me!" He said it regretfully.

Zhang patted Fen Lian's shoulder lightly. Providing a channel of encouragement for the disciple to not get down "Regret is useless; your ability is up to here; don't be sad. There are still many ways to make everything okay," he explained.

Fen Lian sighed softly. "What else, uncle? I feel useless; I'm scared!" she replied sadly.

Zhang frowned at Fen Lian's statement. "What are you afraid of?"

"I let everyone down; I feel alone and useless. If only father was alive, I would have been much better; I would have succeeded by now; unfortunately, father is gone," Fen Lian said sadly.

"You have an uncle, and he will always support you. Uncle already thinks of you as a son, after all. Whether your father is still around or not, it will be the same if you don't have the ability."

"Never mind, don't think too much about things you don't need to think about. You have an uncle, you have a book, you have basic knowledge, and you also have many opportunities to practice again. So what are you worried about? What else? Cheer up! Uncle will help you!" He said.

Fen Lian stared listlessly at the teacher. Actually,  she was already excited and began to accept her destiny; it was just that the disappointment in her heart always overcame.

"Maybe I need some time to reflect," she replied.

"What for? There's no point in brooding; it's time to fight again. Uncle Will will help you! Tomorrow we go to the Four Seasons Village!" He said.

True to his promise, Zhang now took Fen Lian to the Four Seasons Village, as he had promised before. Zhang's struggle to bring Fen Lian to the village of the four seasons was extraordinary; how should a teacher who struggles fully with his responsibility towards students? In addition to the incredible distance they had to travel to get to this place, there were also many obstacles they had to face to get to where they are now. Starting from the harshness of the people of the four seasons village to newcomers, to the many warriors who considered them both intruders. But in the end, they both made it to this village safely.

Fen Lian did not know where the master was taking her; the most important thing now was to follow where the master was taking her. They arrived at an ancient temple that wasn't very big, and it also looked a little worn out. The two of them immediately entered the temple at the same time. Fen Lian was a little surprised because it looked deserted and empty, like it was uninhabited. The buildings inside were indeed many, unlike the front, which looked worn out and small. However, all the buildings here look completely neglected, and the courtyard also looks very dirty.

He walked behind Zhang for a few minutes as he gazed around, until he arrived in front of the ancient temple. Zhang knocked on the door, and soon an old man wearing a plain white robe with long white hair came out. Fen Lian was a little surprised by the presence of this stranger, whom she believed was the owner of this ancient temple.

Zhang paid his respects to the old man, and Fen Lian simply followed what Zhang was doing.

"Master!"

"Zhang, you're finally coming back here," he said with a happy expression.

Zhang smiled faintly at that statement. Then he straightened up again and returned to his normal demeanor as before.

"Did I interrupt your time?" He asked.

The old man shook his head lightly. "Not at all, Zhang; I'm actually happy that you want to come here again." He said.

Until a few seconds later, the old man's gaze was directed at Fen Lian. Seeing this, Fen Lian immediately bowed to show respect as a form of politeness towards an old person, especially Zhang, who called him a teacher.

"Who are you with, Zhang?" She asked.

"Ah, yes, this is Fen Lian, my teacher in Jiangnan, and this Fen Lian is my uncle's teacher, Master A Xui."

Fen Lian again saluted the old man called A Xui.

"Come in first; let's talk inside!"

They both nodded, after which they entered the ancient temple. Again, Fen Lian was surprised by the temple. From the front, it looked simple, but once inside, it was amazing. Seeing that, Fen Lian did not blink her eyes at all because she was amazed by the building in front of her. Xui knew that Fen Lian was in awe and just shook his head. Then he invited the two of them to sit down in front of the dining table, which was already full of food.

"Have a seat!" He said.

Zhang nodded.

"So what can you help me with?" He asked.

"Zhang would like to apologize to you in advance if this seems troublesome. Actually, Zhang wants to leave Fen Lian here with you so that she can train with you," he said.

A Xui frowned at this statement. He then asked Zhang. "So what? Why not train with you?" He asked.

"Actually, Zhang has been practicing with Fen Lian; it's just that there was a problem with Fen Lian that Zhang thought was beyond Zhang's ability. It's quite a long story if I explain everything from the beginning until now; maybe Zhang will explain the gist of the problem Zhang is facing to the teacher."

A Xui nodded. "Tell me!"

"Fen Lian is indeed my disciple's son; his father used to entrust him to Zhang because his father was a great warrior as well; it's just that he passed away, so he didn't have time to pass down his martial arts knowledge to his only son. During his time with Zhang, Fen Lian has been practicing earnestly; it's just that there is something about Fen Lian that makes him always fail in cultivation. Zhang wants him to cultivate successfully, no matter what!" He explained.

A Xui seemed to digest every sentence that came out of Zhang's lips; he also did not hesitate to look at Fen Lian to see how she was doing with all the problems she was experiencing.

"Who is her father? Do I know him?" A Xui asked curiously.

Zhang nodded. "Of course, he is the previous master's disciple, just like me. It's just that we are on different levels. Kang Lian is his father's name," Zhang explained.

A Xui was stunned to hear that explanation. He looked at Fen Lian, who was currently also looking at him with an innocent gaze as if she did not know anything.

"So you are Kang Lian's son? I can't believe that I'm going to meet my disciple's grandson. From now on, call me grandfather," he pleaded.

Fen Lian furrowed his forehead as he gave Zhang a puzzled look, and a few seconds later Zhang nodded with a smile.

"But master-"

"Just call me grandpa; I don't feel that I am a master. Just look at that teacher of yours. I've been telling him to call father, but he doesn't want to; he always calls teacher. You shouldn't be like him," he said while pointing at Zhang.

Fen Lian nodded obediently, while Zhang himself only smiled faintly. Indeed, A Xui was a father to him, but Zhang did not want to lose his high position just by calling him father.

"So you can help me?" He asked again.

A Xui nodded. "It's obvious that you can! I'll do anything for you. This is very good, because later you will be able to keep coming here even if it is to visit your student, not because of me," he quipped.

Zhang laughed again at the sarcasm. Indeed, Zhang had never come here because he was far away and had big responsibilities, but that did not mean that he felt that he was so great that he never came to visit his teacher again.

"After this, Zhang will diligently come to visit the teacher; don't worry! I'm sorry that you haven't seen your teacher in a while," Zhang said, feeling bad.

A Xui nodded. "No problem, Zhang; the teacher is very happy; it means that you already have responsibilities. Honestly, hearing the news that you already have many students makes me happy because the knowledge I taught you is not in vain in your hands. I believe that you can definitely educate them well so that the knowledge you teach can be useful." He said.

Zhang nodded. "All this is thanks to the teacher!"

"Now let's have a drink! It's been a while since we've had a drink," A Xui said.

Meanwhile, Fen Lian remained silent as she stared at the two of them, who were busy pouring wine into their respective drinking vessels. Seeing Fen Lian, who was confused, Zhang smiled. He had forgotten that Fen Lian was not allowed to drink wine yet.

"Teacher, is there no water? Fen Lian can't drink wine," he said.

A Xui nodded in understanding. "Take it from the back; teenagers can't drink alcohol. Except for old ones like this," he said.
