Captives Converse

His eyes opened slowly. He could feel a heavy weight still persisting somewhere in his brain, making his head hurt. At the same time, he could feel extreme lightness in his head.

He was sitting on a chair, hard and wooden. He could sense the smell of smoke coming all the way from somewhere, and he could hear loud noises ringing in the farthest depths of his brain.

Forcing those two eyes open, a familiar figure was right before him in a similar position as his. Strapped to the chair with ropes so thick, and barely unconscious.

"Jack?" Hermes managed to utter, but the words were too faint to get to the man.

He tried to move, but he could feel his hands held in place behind him, tightly bound together by a strong hold.

Then the noises came again, this time in the form of a continuous thunderous rumble, rising and lowering with an irregular pattern. Then he knew the noise was not from his head, but from above.

He looked up, examining the form of the roof below which they were being held.
