Chapter 5: The Thurt

“You don't have to be afraid of making me angry Charun. I've never been mad at you. I'm also sure that you won't make me complain. I'm glad to have you as my assistant," Hermes said as he patted Charun's shoulder.

Just as they were focused on the conversation, suddenly someone came. Suddenly they were both shocked and hoped the person did not listen to what they were discussing earlier.

"Sir principal, what are you doing here?" Hermes asked to tell Charun's whereabouts.

“I was just going around to check on the state of this school. what are you doing here?" asked the principal.

"We only discussed the subject matter earlier, sir. There is material that Charun doesn't understand," Hermes said.

Hearing Hermes' explanation, the headmaster just nodded his head. Hermes, who saw it, thought that the principal believed the lie he was telling.

"Since when are you here?" Charun asked politely.

"Just now, I'm also going around again to check the buildings that are here," said the principal with a smile that left Hermes and Charun.

After seeing the headmaster leave, Hermes and Charun breathed a sigh of relief. Bad things would happen if there were other humans who knew the truth about Hermes. It could be, Hermes will be killed by them or other actions that harm Hermes.

"We'd better go home. I don't want anyone to

suspect us of anything Charun," said Hermes.

"Okay sir," replied Charun shortly.

On the way home, Charun feels something different about him. After he met Hermes earlier his body a little fever. But he ignored it and thought it was just because he was tired.

“Why does my temperature seem to be slightly higher than usual, what's going on?' Charun asked himself.

"Maybe because I'm too tired today," he added as he continued his footsteps.

After arriving at the house, he saw as if there was a red shadow passing in front of him. He was very surprised when he saw the shadow passing like the wind through him.

"What is it?" he said in surprise.

"Well, maybe it's just my illusion. Right now it seems I'm very tired, "said Charun who immediately threw his body on the bed.

After meeting Charun at school, Hermes also goes to Hades to give him the news. He wanted to let him know if any human knew his identity. But he didn't want to tell Thanatos about the truth for fear that Thanatos would take the child's life.

"Hades," said Hermes who was already in the underworld.

"Yes Hermes. What made you come here? Is there anything important?" asked Hades curiously.

Hermes is a human who can penetrate two worlds in carrying out his duties, namely the underworld and the mortal world. Hermes' presence in the underworld was common, but his sudden presence without telling Hades was unusual. Therefore, he asked about an important matter that Hermes wanted to tell him.

"Yes Hades. I want you to keep this a secret. can you?" Hermes asked, lowering his voice a little.

"What's the truth about that?" Hades said.

“I want you to promise beforehand that you won't tell anyone what I'm about to say. Can you afford it?” Hermes said.

"Yes Hermes. Please tell me what it is," replied Hades.

After thinking for a few seconds, Hermes started talking about it.

"Someone knows my identity," said Hermes briefly.

"Who? You know what you have to do, right?” Hermes reminded.

"Yes I know. But I can't do it," answered Hermes.

This is a very difficult thing for Hermes. On the one hand, He had to fulfill the promises and the rules that had been made. But on the other hand, he loves Charun very much and will take care of him.

Hearing the news that Hermes couldn't do this really surprised Hades. The reason is, Hermes is a very responsible figure in carrying out his duties, but now he can't do that.

"Can not? Why? Who knows about the truth?” hades asked.

“One of my students who is in the mortal world. He is a quiet, kind, and smart student. I love him very much. I don't want him to die because of what he saw by accident," Hermes explained.

Hades tried to think of the words that came out of Hermes' mouth. This time he understood the situation. Hades had heard from Thanatos that Hermes had a favorite disciple in the mortal world. Thanatos also once told that the student was very good.

"What is Charun?" hades asked.

Hearing Hades mention Charun's name, Hermes was very surprised because Hades knew about Charun.

"You know him?" Hermes asked with a surprised face.

“I've heard from thanatos before that you have a favorite disciple in the mortal world. Is it true?" asked hades to confirm the truth.

"That's right, Hades. I'll make sure he won't tell anyone about my identity," Hermes assured.

Seeing that Hermes was begging at this time, Hades [un] couldn't bear it and agreed to his friend's request.

"Okay, but you have to tell him what really happened so he can find out about it," asked Hades curiously.

“I only saw him leave after Thanatos and I had done our job at the time. Then in the morning he asked about it," answered Hermes.

"I also want you to not tell Thanatos about this, if Tanatos finds out you will know what will happen to Charun too, right?" Hermes said.

"Okay, you'll keep this a secret. but he was the last human to know about your identity, after this no one else knows. You promise?" hades asked.

"Promise Hades. Thank you very much," said Haermes hugging Hades.

After his conversation with Hades was over, he decided to return to the mortal world. He was very happy to be able to tell the truth to Hades. However, he still had the burden of not telling thanatos.

He is also afraid that one day Thanatos finds out about it and will act accordingly to Charun. He didn't want that to happen.

"I'll take care of you Charun. I'm sure you're a good boy. I don't want you to complain anything for the rest of your life," Hermes said to himself.

Hermes is very worried about Charun. Charun was already known by his two friends, Hades and Thanatos. He was afraid that one day Charun would make a mistake that would harm him.

If that happened, it would be very difficult to convince his friend not to punish him.
