Chapter 8: Scary

"Good morning, sir," said all the students, greeting Hermes.

Charun is very enthusiastic in this class. he became a diligent student as usual. He answered the questions given by Hermes and always paid attention to what his teacher said.

After the school bell rang, Hermes left their classroom. Before Hermes left, he signaled Charun to meet him immediately. Charun who saw it immediately understood the meaning of the gesture and started following Hermes' footsteps from behind.

Now they both entered the Hermes room. Even though he had entered the Hermes room several times, Charun was still surprised by the condition of the room which was much colder than the other teachers' rooms. even though all the components in the room, including the AC or paint color and others are the same.

"How are you today?" hermes asked.

"I'm fine sir. I've read some things about the "inner eye" and I'm starting to understand it now," said Charun who immediately explained about himself.

Hermes saw the very enthusiastic eyes in Charun's eyes at this moment. Charun told me many things about the inner eye that he had read on the internet and some of the books he bought yesterday afternoon.

"Can you accept it?" hermes asked.

"Yes, sir. I can accept it, but I want to ask you. Can I use my strengths to help others?” said Charun.

"Of course you can," answered Hermes with a smile.

Hearing his strengths can be used to help others makes Charun feel very happy. A happy smile crossed his face. Charun is indeed a very good boy and has thoughts like an adult. Apart from being smart, kind, and polite, he also likes to help others.

After hearing Charun's question, Hermes started to think seriously. This time what Hermes will convey is a little heavy because it involves the role of Hermes in this world. but before he answered the question, he checked that all the doors and windows were tightly closed and locked. This is so that no one hears their conversation and so that their identity is not known by others.

“There's something you can do with your strengths, Charun. You can help me collect the spirits that are still in the mortal world for me to send to the underworld. Can you do that?” asked hermes carefully.

Charun tried to understand every word that came out of hermes mouth. Of course the words 'mortal world' and 'underworld' have been heard by Charun before. Hermes had already explained this to Charun.

"What should I do to collect them and how?" asked Charun curiously.

"We will collect them together. I ask for your help to tell me if there are spirits who are still in the underworld," answered Hermes.

Hermes is still explaining what Charun should do with the advantages he has. In addition to Charun who asked to do this, Hermes also gave the task because Charun had become his assistant a while ago.

After listening to Hermes' explanation, Charun agreed to the teacher's invitation. However, there are many questions that arise in his mind at this time which of course relates to the task assigned to him.

Without thinking, Charun tried to ask all the questions that were on his mind at the moment. there were many things he wanted to know from the mouth of Hermes firsthand.

"If your job is to capture the spirits that are still in the mortal world, but why are there still so many spirits everywhere?" Charun asked curiously.

“This is a good question. Okay Charun, I'll explain. I send the spirits to the underworld, not all spirits, but only spirits who have been in the mortal world for a very long time and spirits whose business has been completed in the mortal world," Hermes explained.

Hermes continues to give Charun an understanding of his duty and existence in the mortal world. It's true, not all hermes spirits will deliver to the underworld. There are provisions for all of that. Only the spirits who have finished with their business in the mortal world and the spirits who have been in that world for a long time will hermes send them to the underworld.

Just like that time, when Hermes taught in his class. He saw that there was a very disturbing female spirit in the class who continued to follow Hermes. Hermes sent the spirit to the underworld because the spirit had been in this mortal world for too long.

It is not easy for Hermes to carry out his duties, because he must really be able to determine whether or not the spirit is enough to be sent to the underworld.

"Do you understand now Charun?" Hermes asked his student.

"Understood sir. I'll do my job well as your assistant," replied Charun nodding.

After they both finished with their business, Charun went back to class to get his bag before he went home.

On the way home, he felt a little heavy on his shoulders this afternoon. he felt it after passing through the corridor that runs along the classroom in his school. Moreover, he felt like his back was on fire right now.

However, he paid no heed to it. He thought maybe it was because he was tired that he felt that way.

On his way home, he saw a figure he had seen before. An adult man wearing ancient Japanese clothes, at that time blood continued to drip down his neck. Previously, Charun had seen him on his way to the library.

When he saw it, Charun was very scared. He also forgot about his duty to notify Hermes if he saw the spirits.

"Aaaah!" shouted Charun while running.

After arriving at his house, he went straight to his room and locked it tightly.

After a while, he peeked in the window to see if the figure was following him or not. After he looked for the whereabouts of the figure it turned out that the figure was not following him.

"Luckily he didn't follow me," said Charun with relief.

Even though he couldn't see the figure, Charun's shoulders still felt heavy and his back still felt hot.

"Why do my shoulders still feel heavy and my back feels hot too?" Charun asked himself.

"Maybe after I take a shower, all this will be gone," continued Charun who took his bath towel.

After Charun bathed, the hot and heavy feeling that bothered him still didn't go away. Plus, he saw a woman with long, flowing hair with a scary face behind the bathroom door she opened. Charun was so shocked by the existence of the figure that suddenly made him scream.

"Aaah!" shouted Charun who immediately ran out of the house.
