Linda was covered in shame as she quickly stumbled out of the office. She had never been humiliated the way she was today. All her tricks failed to work on this man when it had been working on almost everyone.

She was almost in tears. The file in her hand was having no use, so she squeezed it and dropped it in the trash can before walking into the elevator.

Damn it! This was her total loss. What would she tell grandmother? What would she tell her mother and brother? After all the pride she had shown to signify she wouldn't lose the job, she ended up failing even before she presented what she wanted.
