“Justin! Please stop this!”

“Katherine, I’m here. I promised to protect you and prevent anyone from harming you. Trust me,”

Justin said to Katherine, thinking that she doubted his strength.

But what Justin didn’t know was that what made Katherine hesitate wasn’t whether or not she believed in him.

It was the fact that Katherine had lived within the boundaries of decorum all her life, trying not to upset anyone.

Since childhood, she had been taught that disrupting family happiness was a grave sin.

“Justin! I understand that, but I don’t want to be kicked out of my family!”

“You call this a family, Katherine? Have any of these people treated you well? They’ve made you toil, humiliated you, and even stolen from you. Don’t you remember?”

Justin found it hard to comprehend Katherine’s desire.

“But at least I have a job, a legitimate job that I love, and I get paid for it. I don’t want to lose my job at our company. Justin, I really don’t want to lose my job.”
