As Richard surveyed the ruins, his mind continued to search for more memories.

Suddenly, a sharp pain exploded in his head.

He staggered, clutching his skull, blood trickling from his mouth.

“Not again,” he gasped, frustration boiling inside him.

It felt like a hard glass barrier was covering his mind, preventing him from grasping important fragments.

“Are you okay, sir?” Mark’s voice cut through the haze.

“I’m fine. It’s nothing.” Richard gritted his teeth.

Richard wanted to remember more things but the piercing pain was too strong.

A few seconds later, the pain eased, and the memories faded, leaving him breathless and defeated.

He sighed and leaned against a crumbling wall.

“We should go,” he told Mark.

“Okay, master.” the driver replied, opening the car door for Richard.

Though the recent bleeding hadn't weakened Richard significantly, he needed to calm down, so he closed his eyes and rested in the car.
